- Daniel Lanois' band Black Dub rocked it live to music industry professionals at Michele Clark’s Sunset Sessions event at La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad California.
Sunset Sessions and Sunset Sessions Rock events are exclusive Music Industry festivals/conventions that have been turning music industry professionals onto new music and new artists since 1998. It was created and produced by the legendary Radio Promotion Indie Michele Clark who’s been responsible for launching the careers of thousands of artists - many with the help of her Sunset Sessions events.
Most showcases were not memorialized in any way (except in the successes of the artists who played them & the music industry who loved them). Of the videos that were made, only a small fraction have ever been made available to the public… yet (as of 2023).
Performances are intimate and unique... once in a lifetime-type experiences... interviews, listening parties, acoustic sets, poolside performances, etc.

Daniel Lanois could play in the Bahamas in the summer and he would be dressed for winter.
Just superb. Can't rate it highly enough. Well done everyone.
Daniel, met you Byron Bay blues fest in that little songwriter session where Marva made us all cry. Yay.
Loved this to bits.
brian blade is a national treasure
How great is this ? xxx
The way she looked at the other drummer because of how on point his drumming is, only for him to look back the same way when she started hitting and maintaining those notes while STILL DRUMMING AND KEEPING TIME! Every person on stage was having a blast and it comes through and I had a blast watching it. A+++
Singing with Brian Blade drumming, and drumming with Trixie Whitley singing might make you feel like that!
Trixie is fearless
I just get such a rush EVERYTIME I see her perform❤
Apareceu essa aqui pra mim, das coisas boas que rolaram na pandemia
Oh my god, that groove!
VERY cool 👍 😁
My - I'm so glad that I discovered this before it's too late.
Superb - in every way. Monster groove, wonderful singing, stunning tones. Absolutely awesome.
I have no words...i'm so overwhelmed by this band !
I was lucky enough to see them live in chicago. So dang good. That young lady plays drums, and guitar and she can really sing with such a unique voice and loads of soul.
I swear I think I'm in love with Trixey
how on heaven... and the smiles and the "hey we just love doing this" make it all the greater ; I don't think I have seen something greater - fabulous, as always
Overheard... last few seconds of this "Oh my god, that groove..." Ha. Love it.
She is so good.
Watching a bunch of Lenois and so glad I stumbled across this. So cool!
Greg Schumacher happy you enjoy it :)
Are you kidding me??
Are you Kidding me??
This shit should make every other person that got on stage or studio,
say, "where did I ever get the idea I could make (great) music?'
Well, this shit speaks to me.
I thought I was an okay drummer, after seeing this I know I'm a total novice! Great bass as well.
pls pls pls make more music.. its so long ago
El baterista es increíble! Hermosa canción!
This band and song is so absolutely cool and hot ... cannot take it ..only in small doses... checking out.. louis
これ best version !...ですね.
This is just the best band. Wow.
Wish there was more of this type of music,,,,Great stuff and much success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This should be the intro song to a New series
Marvellous. Shades of Staples.
love it!!
Absolute weltklasse. Danke
EXCELENTE !!
Stunning, thanks !!!
Brilliant, as always.
Exquisito!!!
My ears say thank you Great
Brian Blade could make a brick dance. I'm absolute certain! Btw. That lady got a stunning voice.
Dream Team!
Keith Whitley's daughter....major talent
Chris Whitley is Trixie's Dad. Daniel Lanois "discovered" him and his debut album Living With The Law was recorded at Lanois' studio in the French Quarter circa 1990.
Awesome
Delicious!!!
Brian MrGroove Blade! what a great sound !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Juste magnifique 💜👏👍
love you all!
Tam getting her groove on:
Brian showing how it is done:
Jim in his German platforms,
impossible to elevate his rhythyms:
Daniel...well, you know must know,
I love you so. 'X'
Super!! :)
Daniel Lanois: always dressed for winter.
Filip De Meyst //// Winter is Coming!
Good one lol. When I saw him in 2012 in Hamilton at his GreenBelt Picnic or something like that, he was dressed as Farmer Bob straw hat and a jean jacket. Brady's Dad played there, as well as Emmy Lou Harris and Feist. Incredible. Trixie wasn't there, but the raw intensity that came from the 3 of them was something to behold!
Magnifique! Tellement groovy.
Insanely awesome music!
Are you guys going to do more tracks?
pozdrav iz Srbije
damn T! and the new album is insane.... thankyou Chris for everything ;)

Part of (a pretty big part actually) of the bassline reminds me of the one in “Seconds” by U2 (I know that song was released a couple of years before Lanois had even met the band, but still)
🎵👌🤸♂️
Trixie on drums 😊
*UCK YEAH!!!
Brian Blade....
heck yeah, trixie whitney drums too?
järjettömän hyvä
Oh wow - just found this... who is the 'new'(?) bassist?
O nome da música! Qual é o nome dessa música?
The name of the song! What is the name of this song?
The great Brian with Ludwig club dates...What can i say...
how did Daniel got his drive sound in this song?
Koen Roels i believe he just uses a fender tweed deluxe
splits the signal between his AC30 and his Fender... runs his DDL though the Vox, I think, and the Fender is his dry sound... FOH seasons to taste...
Trixi
Never saw the point in multiple drummers. Drums plus a percussionist makes for a better texture. That said, this is such a fantastic groove.
daflotsam Notice how a backbeat adds to the fullness of a turnaround and maybe we could probably start a discussion here :)
Personally I think Trixie is learning to play the drums now...and this was an experience for her to sing and keep the beat. Learning experience....valuable and she passed! Not the easiest thing, to sing while playing drums.
you need to check out Brian playing alongside his brother Brady... you may have cause to reconsider your viewpoint... I assure you THAT is very much a thing!
trix don't need to play an instrument
she does not even need to sing.
phantastisch
