- A detailed look at what's in my wild camping backpack and the kit I take with me on my wild camping trips in the UK. I take you through my full gear loadout including the tent I take, my sleep system, cook system and kit, water filtering equipment, and anything else that I can find in my Camping Backpack!
This is the gear I use for my wild camping trips in and around the UK, most recently which, have been wild camps in the Lake District National Park.
As always, I hope you enjoy the video. Be sure to leave me a comment and give the video a thumbs up if you like it!
Have a good one.

Good and honest review of your kit. Glad you touched on the mental health benefits of being out in the wilds. It helps to realise its okay not to be okay
Thank you mate, and absolutely it’s ok to no be ok!
always get the cheapest synthetic gear you can first time around (because nobody gets it right first time and you will be upgrading some of it) except for a sleep mat (minimum R3 - 4) to make sure the ground doesn't suck the heat out of you
Awesome video, thank you so much. I can't wait to start!
White rose here to cocker
Very useful video thanks
Re your sleeping pad deflating slightly overnight: cold air takes up less volume than warm air so has lower pressure, so as the ambient temperature lowers over night, the air in the mat cools and the pressure decreases. This'll be amplified if your blowing it up with yer lungs, and the colder the ambient temperature is. Think I remember hearing the exped pump sack works on that mat? I use a flextail tinypump on 2 to 3 nighters now, to avoid breathing into my mat.
Other way is to just give it an extra bit of air just before you sleep.
Ah thank you mate! I’ didn’t even think about that!! Thank you for the comment, I’m going to look at a pump sack! Cheers pal
@@ryanhuntermedia it's ludicrously comfortable that mat int it, it's one of the most comfortable things I've kipped on ever, let alone in a tent.
One of the cheapo highlander reflective mats is good to add a bit of r value btw, they're abou 5 or 10 quid on Amazon. I put mine on top of the air mat rather than under it though.
Nice set up buddy, well done on your new milestone 200 subs. Yep we all need to talk👍
Thank you buddy, appreciate the comment. All the best, Ryan
Hi Ryan , just found your channel !🙂,
Good video but when doing a video like this make sure to provide links for viewers to easily buy.
I’d suggest using some Sugru to mould round the handles of your mug and also to make a lip guard. Unless you have asbestos lips of course!
That’s a great shout mate, thanks for the tip!
You seem quite honest with your reviews but I would love to give you some input in private and hopefully get into the same area
first time watching, good video , need to lose the background music tho !
Appreciate the feedback buddy. Atb, Ryan
