My dad was at this match ; he wouldn't allow me to go because of potential trouble. He raved about George Connelly when he came home. What I liked about Celtic this day was their defensive discipline and organisation even when 3 goals up. A very professional display - and don't forget that Rangers were firm bookies' favourites to win; they even had a party arranged afterwards which they cancelled ( at half time lol ).
I was at it was 13 nearly got buried alive when toals went cos I was small me and a mate moved right upto the back and stood on the fence at the back huns were fighting one another at ht and when the 4th goal went in big Tommy gemmill was winding up Willie Johnston some right trouble outside rangers fans were waiting bottles and bricks and other missiles the fans were charging one another outside the North stand took forever to get home to the west side off Glasgow but a great day hammered them🍀☘️
Leggendario Celtic ,lo spirito è rimasto intatto ,siete voi la squadra del secolo , siete voi con quelle maglie inconfondibile a far tremare tutti.Mitici.
I remember this when i was 8...felt a bit lost,after awful defeat..but Celtic were superb..no doubt...
Jet propelled Lennox.
Those were the days when Hampden Park held over 100,000+ The capacity today is nowhere enough. A huge mistake to reduce the capacity.
No team would have survived against Celtic on that day. I'm not even a Celtic fan.
In his first cup final a day he'll not forget he walked the ball round big John greig and into the rangers net.!!!!! Piling on the agony turning on the style 1234 lovely goals..... You know the rest 🍀🍀🇮🇪🏴
After John Grieg gifted him possession.
Scottish football in general never got true recognition from down south. Remember both Celtic and Rangers were top teams in Europe as well.
Scottish football in general is bloody pathetic, mainly due to the demographics. With only two cities big enough to sustain major clubs, and Glasgow being twice the size of Edinburgh, it's inevitably going to be dominated by the Old Firm. I honestly can't understand the appeal of supporting either of them.
The Rangers number 9 with his hands on his head in despair after McNeil’s opener was one Alex Ferguson.
He was supposed to be marking McNeil (despite being a forward). He never played for Rangers again.
@@paulwarren3106 A fairly straightforward thing to ask a player. Just jump with him and try and foil the header...
@@paulwarren3106 ok the first goal fergie got out jumped but big billy cud do that anyway but perrsson and greig s blunders were worse than fergie's we all know now rangers blamed fergie cos off his catholic wife wat a horrible club
@@davidbroadley126 A filthy club ☘️☘️☘️
@@Scoobydoo19677 Oh the irony🤦♂️
I take it celtic have always been the better team in scotland
Since the mid-sixties, no doubt.
Rangers have more major honours overall, so they have been, historically, the ‘better team’
@@llanfair5782 Not any more.

*Celtic Glasgow vs Glasgow Rangers (4-0)*
1-0 Billy McNeill (3 min)
2-0 Bobby Lennox (44 min)
3-0 George Connelly (45 min)
4-0 Stevie Chalmers (76 min)
The last word of commentary was a bit of a surprise!
😅
We don’t abuse our wee boys celtic are famous for this 🏴🇬🇧
the quality of fitness, skill ,speed and crap diets back then shows, todays game makes this look like junior or amatuer football of today,or even 20+ years ago.
Ma Maw got given two stand tickets 20 seats from the directors box........for the Huns side . So nae scarfs or colours .
Caesar was my hero and he scores in 2 mins , I was 13 , I went fkn nuts .
Some goals get etched forever .
I was also 13 standing outside Hampden with my mate wondering if we should sell our tickets as we had no wingers that day. Johnstone and Hughes injured and suspended. We witnessed my best ever hunskelping memory that I'll never ever forget. GIRFUY
Lennox was a hell of a player. Sadly forgotten now.
Pilley on the agony putting on the style 1234 lovely goals scoring all the while 💚
Celtic troppo più forte
Too right Franco👌
The year that the troubles started 🍀🍀🍀🍀
U shud bang Bryan Adams back in the summer off 69 on when your watching it
Fergie getting stuck in at 0:50
Won the treble great day for a 13 year old outclassed them and no jinky or yogi they had beat us twice in the league and the Glasgow cup we had knocked them out the league Cup sections earlier twice so this made it 3 wins each loads off trouble outside 133 000 there huns fighting one another inside🤣🍀☘️
Ferguson head butted Murdoch of the the ball. I watch it happen.
Dirty ferguson tried to kick the ball out off John fallons hands and either gemmill or murdoch floored him
Wit a crowd
What on earth is supposed to be 'special' about the two totally dominant Scottish teams meeting in a cup final?
What's exciting about man city winning the league every year
How exciting! Celtic meeting Rangers in a final. Never seen that before, have we?
Just Huns being Huns.
Wat a grea t
Wat a great day I was only only 12 me and a mate went just under 133 000 there great start big billy the rangers fans were battering lumps out off one another at ht and there was more trouble when the 4th went in rangers fans were waiting outside a hail off bricks and bottles were waiting for us when we left then both sets off fans were charging one another we had to get to the other side off glasgow drumchapel the cumbie a big glasgow gang got on the train at mount Florida there was about 100 off them and there 85 percent celtic fans so we jumped on there coat tails remember when we got to glasgow central they were singing theres only one king billy that's McNeil my da was at the 7 1 game this day was my 7 1 game Alex ferguson got the blame for celtics first goal but the other 3 goals wernt his fault he never played for rangers again but we all know the real reason why they got rid it was because he married a catholic and had a catholic mother rangers wud never get away with that sectarian stuff now uefa wud kick them out off europe 🤮💩
