- My second Camino Frances, from SJPP to Finisterre, in honor of my Dad ❤️ This was a very personal journey for me-I was hesitant to share beyond friends and family, because it feels so vulnerable. I am a professional videographer in NYC, but this is unlike anything I've ever made before 😅 I left behind my professional equipment---everything was filmed on my iphone or small sony camera. I walked alone this time, with just a 34 liter backpack and Chacos sandals.
The people in this video are SO precious to me. The lessons they shared have been invaluable. I hope you find value in them, too. I hope their spirits shine through. I hope this either reminds you of your own Camino, so you can keep the Camino spirit alive in real life, or that it inspires you to do your own 💙 The Camino de Santiago really is a life changing experience, and so far, the best of my life 💜

I finally got to sit down and watch this. Every video you do you pour your heart out and show your unvarnished self. With that openness you gathered an amazing group of friends around you along the way. As I said in another one of your videos I’m sure your dad is very proud of who you’ve become. When you hit upon the realization of that he meant when he said you have to be able to walk through fire I imagined him saying ‘Yes Mija!’ Un Abrazo from España.
This comment 😭 thank you so much!!!
"Walk through fire and don't get burned". This will stay with me for a while...
THANK YOU to every single one of you who have sat through this very long video 😂🙏🥲 I'm overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and kindness in this comment section. I couldn't have imagined how fulfilling sharing myself crying on the internet with 70k people would feel hahah! Whether you're planning a Camino, have just returned from one, or are maybe just experiencing it virtually with me, thank you so much for the love and for keeping the Camino spirit alive ❤
I congratulate you on your achievement, your dad would be very proud of you.👍
Y al final el camino se ilumina con una estrella más
@@normabrien8331thank you Norma ❤

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤..... Thank you for sharing this beautiful, intense experience with us. Much love to you. 🤗 - I feel your dad was walking at your side. ❤
What a wonderful video. I would love to do a part of the Camino. I’m now 71 and can’t find anyone who wants to do it with me so that’s why just the last part as I would be on my own. I’m from the UK and my daughter lives in Barcelona. Maybe next May fingers crossed 🤞
I would walk it with you if I lived closer. You can do it. Good luck🤞
Stephanie, as a 62 year old father of two, I want to tell you how blessed I was to watch your pilgrimage video that was dedicated to your father. As I watched, I was so proud of you…through a father’s eye. I know at this very moment, I know your dad is looking down at you and is so proud of you and your accomplishments, and I know he was with you every step of the Camino. And always remember…Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it” (Heb. 13:1-2). You may have very well walked and spoke to your father during your interactions with strangers you met on your journey. How beautiful! My health has kept me away from my Camino bucket list for five years, but I am better now, and with God’s help, I will walk the same trail as you did, in 2024. Peace be with you. (And great job on the YT video documenting the journey!)
I have watched many Camino vlogs and have followed peregrinos on different routes. I can say hands down that yours is the absolute best I’ve seen. The homage you paid to your dad is a testament of the wonderful man he must’ve been. Congratulations for every mile, every tear, all the friends/family you made along the Camino, but most importantly congratulations on finding yourself. I’m in awe of the raw beauty you presented. I will never be able to walk the Camino because of health reasons but I gladly strapped on my virtual backpack to follow you. I’m still wiping tears away. Buen Camino Stephanie from Orlando, Florida.
😭 wow. Can’t even tell you how much this comment means to me. Thank you so so much ❤️ I’m so glad you could enjoy this journey virtually with me. Sending you a big virtual hug 🤗
Also hiii Orlando! 🤗 I grew up in Deland!! 🥰
You’re very talented and I can definitely see you directing/producing Hollywood quality films. If you’re ever in Central Florida I’d love to meet you - maybe a home cook Cuban meal might entice you!!! lol May God continue blessing you always and listen to signs because you have your own personal angel in Heaven. 🙏
What a great film. Thank you.very emotional and very inspiring.🙏
Maria, you couldn't have explained my feelings better. Stephanie you have a gift! Your documentary allowed us the viewer to be a witness of the love of your dad, your mom (silent in the background) and the family that God placed in your "buen camino." This is, like Maria said, by far the BEST Camino video I have seen. I felt your pain, your love, your tiredness, your heat, your laughter, your struggles but especially the moments of pure joy, wonder and awe. Thank you for bringing us along on your very personal Camino. Thank you for capturing what is the reason for the walk!
I and my wife met on a walk over 30+ years ago and Summer Winter rain or shine, even at 71 me, 65 her, we never miss a days walk (yes even in the hospital with nurses frantic) and we were so flabbergasted by your Camino vid....to think you averaged 25 miles per day, after day, after day. People never die that remain in the heart of one that loved them. You're such an inspiration.
Rogerrr oh my goodness 🥹😭😭 YOU are an inspiration, wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely comment. Your love/walking story with your wife is just about the most romantic thing I’ve ever heard 🥲 It’s easy to walk a lot for a month when there’s an end in sight. Your consistency everyday is much more impressive to me! I’m so inspired. Thank you 💖
Stephanie, I'm so pleased I found your video today. I walked the Camino in 2019 aged 68, I was meant to go again in 2020 but the world changed for everyone. Now aged 72 I thought I was too old to go again and follow my dream of walking to the end of the earth (I caught the bus at the end of my last Camino) but now I'm planning on going in 2024. So thank you for sharing your Camino, like you, I will be walking for my parents who both passed since my last Camino. ❤👣👣
I’m going on 74- and I am hoping to walk the Camino! With younger friends whom I mentor. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️
I’m doing my 8th Camino starting May next year (2024) , I’ll be 71
@@rubenmontero4813 These comments just made my day!! You all are so inspiring 💖 Best of luck to you on your upcoming Caminos!! 🥳
@@rubenmontero4813 Buen camino.
My younger Sister Laura also did the full camino in 2023-From France ,across Spain to SanTiago ,then right to the ocean ...(end of the world)
a very inspirational journey..
Thank you for showing me your experience and that of your camino companons ...
Buen Camino ! 👍😊
One of the best 2 hours, I've ever spend on CZcams. Thank you for sharing those wonderful moments 🙏🏻
🥲wow 🙏🏼 thanks for watching! 💖
A friend and I spent 9 weeks on the Camino 12 years ago, without pressure of time, just allowing the moments to unfold. Your film has come the closest of any that I have watched to expressing the magical quality of that experience. At the end of our journey we decided to live life as a 'Camino' from then on, following each moment as it presented itself to us, 'poco a poco', one step at a time and ended up travelling 'accidentally' for the next seven years, living magically as we came to call it, guided by synchronicity. Thank you!
Wonderful documentary.
Very brave, insightful and inspiring.
Also GREAT USE of music and a nice voice to listen to.
This is definitely a high quality documentary, well done Stefanie. I was captured by your journey for 2 hours and a lot of thoughts, thanks!
I appreciate that so much, thank you!!
Girl, I normally do not comment on CZcams videos, but I want to congratulate you for pouring your heart into this one. It transmits your feelings! You are an amazing person ❤
Thank you so much Adriana! ❤ ahhh that’s so sweet, I’m overwhelmed 😂😅
I enjoyed this movie so very much. It was beautiful! The life-experienced lady at 2:02:05 actually gave me hope that one day I can experience a thru hike in my later years. I'm 48, married, raising two ladies and when the time is right, I'll go.
Aw, yes! I love this. Maybe take your two ladies with you one day 🤗
The only people I desire to be around are travelers. Travel, especially Camino, is the great equalizer. People just come back to themselves when they're away from the lives they don't like anyway. Every video I see of the Camino shows people being happy, real, dealing with whatever they came to deal with, struggling, smiling, growing, resetting. Thank you for all your hard work on this. No one knows how hard it is to put something like this together until they do it. You are awesome for sharing your life on the Camino with us. Thank you!
I am so happy you got to do the camino again and beyond proud of the way you connect with others in your path. You inspire me and challenge me to be better everyday and I am forever grateful to call you daughter. Your dad would be blown away by this creative expression of love!
😭😭🥹 thank you momma I love you so much!! ❤️
Stefanie, your video! I've seen many Camino videos. Yours is the only one that made me feel the true spirit of the Camino: the celestial walk into antiquity, the dreadful return to modernity, the highs, the lows, the blisters, the snoring, the unpredictability of the elements, the panoramic beauty, the multi-day, meditative introspection, the vulnerability when you allow the Camino to provide. I completed the Camino Frances in 2017 and have been longing to go back, but COVID had other plans. As a fellow New Yorker now living in the SF Bay Area, your sensibility resonated with me. Loved the sound track you selected too! Excellent editing. You have skills and a gift. I watched the video straight through and was transported to Northern Spain - perhaps needing to do another Camino... There was even a young woman, early in your video, who was part of my Camino family six years ago. (Vittoria from Italy at 9:21- had to pause and rewind a few times to confirm.) Thank you for taking me on your very personal journey (your father would be proud) and bringing me back to a deeply personal space. You lightened my day and filled my heart. Buen Camino, mi Perregrina! Daniel
Thank you so much for sharing your journey! I feel a little nervous for my Camino in September but now I can't wait to meet my own Camino family!
Ahhh so exciting! 🥳 Buen Camino!
I will on the Camino in September too. Buen Camino Sophie!
To both if you - and others will will embark on this amazing looking journey! Hope as much as possible goes to your favor 💗📈
I leave for Portuguese Camino for 2 weeks today, walking from Santiago de Compestela to Porto over 12 days. I loved your U-tube video. At a young age you are beautifully vulnerable and open and give us the gift of sharing your genuine grief at the loss of your dear Dad, and your honest experiences along "the way." This is my eight time walking Camino's and as I journey from Dublin on the longest day of the year I still feel vulnerable but love the opportunity to be compassionate to myself and kind to others. I will be 64 in 2 weeks and life is good
I just decided at the end of last week that I’m going to walk it in February 2024. Starting from Lisbon. I’m going to need six months to get fit enough to do it, hence my doing it in February. I’m so excited. I wish you all the love for your next journey/adventure. ❤
Where do I start? First, Thank you Stefanie for sharing such a poignant and personal experience and story. Within the first ninety seconds I was hooked, inspired and crushed because,, you see, I am 62 years old and have been working for 33 years for the same company and I loved Emilio Estevez's The Way. So, as you can imagine I found all these similarities with your Dad, then you tell us that he's passed and I went from happy and inspired to feeling sad for our loss. You are an angel and I'm sure your Dad was (and still is) with you during your pilgrimage (s). Walking The Camino De Santiago it's been in my bucket list since I saw the movie and I've watched lots of videos about it, your documentary is unique IMOH because it's an honest narrative of not only your thoughts at every specific place you went through, but also the commentary of your fellow walkers. Even if I don't get to do The Camino, I'll be forever grateful that I watched yours in the entirety and I felt as if I was walking along with you and your group. God Bless you, your Dad and your family. Greeting from Texas!
Thank you so much for this! ❤
As an older American there is very little chance I'll ever see these places let alone have chance to walk the Camino so coming along with you and your companions was amazing. Loved the journey and "meeting" everyone with you.
This is so touching to me 😭 thank you for being here. Hopefully I can bring you along on another Camino very soon 🤗
This is inspiring. Not just the walk. Not just the emotion behind the walk. What shines through is the effort post walk that you have devoted to making a tribute to your Father. The hours you spent to make this lovely creation are such evidence of your love that still has so much depth. Truly amazing. Thanks.
🥹 thank you!! It’s nice to hear that translates. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏼
You did this very well. If you ever walk again, start from Le Puy en Velay. The first two weeks are magnificent. I walked 70 days from there 2022. My lesson learned is to be in the moment, as every one has something of beauty to appreciate. Buena Camino pilgrim. Keep inspiring.
Wow, 70 days Journey. I have heard of a 30 hike. I am not sure I can do 70 days, unless I was extremely fit and younger.
Thank you for sharing your intimate personal relationship and physical walk. I had never heard of this: It looks ardurous, but something I wish I could do! (no $). It looks more than fascinating!! 💗💗💗
Thank you for sharing with us, so we can experience even a small amount of your rewarding experiences!
Thank you for doing this. I completed Camino Frances a little over 3 weeks ago. Thank you for bringing me back to the places that I miss so much…
I imagine if you did it in 3 weeks, what route did you take and where did you start from?
@@Emy53 I meant I completed it 3 weeks ago, I didn’t complete it in 3 weeks 😅
I didn’t want to stop watching. I cried and had goosebumps many times. This is a beautiful video and you are a beautiful soul. Thank you for sharing your journey and giving us a window into your experience. As a 64 year old I would love to do this exact route but I don’t think my body could take it.
I just watched this whole video in awe. I’ve heard about the Camino walk but didn’t know very many details. Your video made me feel like I, also, was able to experience some of the magic of walking the way. I especially enjoyed when you spoke to the young man about his spiritual awakening & feeling God’s presence.
Thank you Donna! That was one of my favorite moments too ❤ David taught me a lot
Hello Stefanie, My wife and I completed our first pilgrimage SJPDP-SDC in 2017. What a beautiful video and tribute to your father you have created. With daughters your age...I know how proud your father must be of his daughter. Blessings always 🙏 M&B
Thank you! 🥲
I’m not even two mins in and I’ve already have tears in my eyes 🥺
Fabulous documentary! I actually started walking the same day that you did! I did not meet you but I recognized a number of people. You really captured the essence of the Camino and my favorite part was your friend at the end who said “I am perfect the way that I am”.
Ahhh no way! We must’ve crossed paths and not known it. Thank you so much for watching! I shared your comment with Josefien and it made her very very happy 🥲❤️
Thank you so much Stefanie for sharing your pilgrimage. Every second was captivating. The love for your father is profound and also your kind heart and nature is a joy to witness. I walked the Camino in 2008 and the memories came flooding back through your lense and your words. May we all continue to walk together with this much grace and respect xx Buen Camino xx❤🤝👋 Tania from Australia
Wow, thank you so much Tania! 🙏🏼🥲 Yesss, Buen Camino for life ✨🧚🏼
That was simply amazing. You captured the essence of the Camino in brilliant fashion. My wife and I cried and she hasn't even done a Camino - yet she knows my own experience last summer on the Camino Frances and the amazing family I became a part of. I have watched many videos/vlogs but yours is extremely powerful. I, too, will be doing my 2nd Camino this fall...I'm not sure how it could be any better than my first but that isn't going to stop me! As I am fond of saying: "Without the people, the Camino is just one bloody long walk." Thanks for the memories and sharing your story. Cheers from your northern neighbour
Wow, thanks so much for sharing this Mark ❤ Hi to your wife! 👋 and Buen Camino for your second so soon!! I’m trying to figure out a way to go in September as well. I honestly can’t imagine it getting any better 😅 Hope you have a great time! ✨
@@StefanieHurtado Well if you get to go in September, who knows, we may collide somewhere!
My gosh, the best video of the camino ever! I was crying and smiling the whole video. I'm from Astorga and I grew up seeing peregrinos coming through my city since I have memory. I'd always wondered why people did the camino because when they arrived to Astorga they were tired and injured. "Why do people like that?" --the little me always thought. Well, last year I decided to do the camino. I will start my second camino in 2 weeks, and you've remembered me all the feelings and emotions of the first one. This time will be different but I hope beautiful too and full of surprises. Thank you for being so honest and to put on the table that feel and show yourself vulnerable it's more than ok. And who knows, maybe our paths cross some day! Buen camino :)
Gratitude
Thank you so much for sharing your camino journey with us. Watching your video made me laugh and cry and i felt like i was with you. I walked the Northern way in April but had to cut the journey short because my partner was very unwell. My camino journey may have been cut short but that short journey gave me so much back than i anticipated. My desire to walk the full camino is still deep in my heart and watching your videos made my desire even stronger. Thank you again for sharing your journey and so sorry for your loss. Your father's phrase 'Learn to walk in the fire and not get burned' will stick to me as it resonated with me. Congratulations & Buen Camino Stefanie 🤍
Aw wow 🥹 Thank you so much for sharing this! I really think the Camino teaches us exactly what we need, just when we need it. And it will always be there for you when you’re ready to return ❤️ I hope you and your partner are doing well now. Thank you for being here. I too hope to do the Northern route some day very soon! 🤗✨
There were so many times when you or someone said something about the Camino, and it just hit in the feels that I instinctively would go to click the like button but then realise I've already done it. Your journey as amazingly inspiring. I start the Camino soon and it's been on my mind for almost a decade and as the day comes closer I've noticed myself worrying about "what if I don't feel something at the end", "what if I don't find what I'm looking for". So when you said that right at the start after your first Camino, "why didn't this solve everything", I'm glad someone else has addressed that. And I'm grateful that you shared this experience of you walking the Camino again but seeing it in such a new light. It's helped me realise that I've just got to walk and allow things to happen themselves. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this. I'm planning my Camino for next year. Your story, the stories of your fellow camino family - are inspiring and insightful. It's videos like these that shine light in my life whilst I myself am walking through fire right now ☀️
Wow 😭 thank you so much! This means so much to me. Everything you said is all I could’ve hope for someone to feel while watching it. Sending you so much love for your walk ❤️
OMG I finished my Camino a week ago and that man playing the guitar before Astorga is a vibe.
Hahah YES I’m so glad everyone is getting to experience him, he made my day
I’m so happy that I stumbled upon this!!! I walked the Camino Frances in July 2022 and this brought back so many memories of the towns, feelings, and people. I loved revisiting the Albergue’s. I’ve never seen a vlog that is so authentic. You express yourself well on camera! Wish I documented my Camino with this level of detail. Guess I’ll have to do it again.
Thank you so much Dan 💙 Congrats on your Camino! ✨
Stefanie, this is a beautiful tribute to your father. Pretty sure he is looking down on you and very, very proud of you and the young woman you have grown up to be. Thank you for sharing this and letting yourself be so vulnerable and open.
😭 Thank you so much Colm! This sentiment means a lot to me and always cuts deeper coming from another father. Just saw your channel, gonna go watch now! 🥳
Stefanie so proud of what you curated. Amazing. So nice to see all of the family again.
Thank you Eric! I miss the fam ❤️
I was blown away by this.
You are such a pure soul. You faced your fears of the emotions that you knew you had to release, and you did it.
Be proud young lady, as all of the beautiful brave people who you met on the way.
Blessings.
🥺❤❤❤
30 seconds in and you have me crying. Thanks for being so open and vulnerable about your experiences on the Camino and beyond. Helps me to build on my own from some years ago. Looking forward to going back and to seeing more of your work! RIP to your dad - beautiful hommage
Thank you so much Benedikt 🥹 I can’t wait to go back too ❤
Congratulations Stefanie on Walking the Camino and your beautiful film of it .I know your Dad was with you and is very proud of you.🎉❤
I’m 65 years old and you touched my soul. I’m not sure who the older woman you bonded with, but I hope to meet a young woman like you! I’m going on the Camino Frances beginning 4/1/24. I’m so looking forward to the spiritual adventure, meeting people from all over the world. I’ve never been to Europe believe it or not, but I believe I’m going to fall in love with Spain! Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
Ahh I love this! And that's so exciting! Wishing you the best of luck and lots of amazing people for your Camino in April 💖
I walked the Camino last year, and am doing the Portuguese and Norte back to back. Love seeing your story!
I wish I had done this several years ago. I admire and respect everyone that has taken this beautiful journey and adventure. Many blessings.
Stefanie, first… sorry for your loss. I started watching your documentary and immediately got hooked up. I haven’t finished watching but I can say it’s awesome!. It’s so wonderful how you combine your reflections with the imagery, music, everything. I can’t wait to watch the end. You are an awesome human being. Your dad was probably a great person, to have raised such a great human. Keep smiling…
First of all, I'm so sorry about your dad. I felt so much sadness to hear his story. I've wanted to do this walk for years but haven't yet! I'm just midway through your video and loving it so much. You are so amazing and endearing! Thank you for sharing so much of yourself and your journey. Anyway, I'm writing because the part of the vid that I'm watching right now is when you are processing and sharing beautiful insights and asking for a sign in this flat landscape. I think your sign came in the shape of that single sunflower on the side of the road just as you were speaking about something so deep and important. And in that moment you also, a little sunflower all by herself on the side of the road. Strong, beautiful, courageous, heart wide open facing the sun as she calls herself back home into presence. Lovely!
Dear Stefanie Thanks for sharing your experiences of Camino de Compostela....i came to know about this Camino from the book "The Pilgrimage" of Brazilian Author Paulo Coelho. I was q seminarian at that time back 2007. An now i am a missionary priest in Vietnam 🇻🇳 since 5 years ago. By the way i am an Indonesian 🇮🇩. A big hug 🫂 you in Jesus Christ Our Lord. And for the intercession of Saint James, God fill your life with many blessings. Our Blessed Virgin Mary accompany you in your life. I will pray for you and also for the eternal repose of your father....God bless 🙌 you 🙏 ❤
Thank you for sharing this with us, Stefanie. What a beautiful experience. I loved your honest take, emotion and candour. My father did parts of the Camino twice and I even went to Santiago with him and my son this year. We walked a few parts of the Camino throughout the North but I’m planning to come back with a friend to do the full Camino Frances. Can’t wait!
I am walking the Camino in September and have watched all of your videos. Thank you so much for sharing all of your experiences and your vulnerability. I love all of your videos, don't stop making them. You have such a lovely spirit and it is so felt through your videos.
Ahhh thank you so much! 🥹❤️ Best of luck on your Camino! ✨
Just beautiful. You are so strong. Your Dad will have been with you each step of the way. X
I'm living near Fisterra and I've been receiving sings that I have to do the Camino. This video convinced me of it! I cried so many times and the energy is so real between you and all the beautiful family you gathered along the way. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with the world! I subscribed!
Hi Stefanie, just wanted to thank you for an absolutely awesome documentary on your CF…it sooo mirrored mine but you really captured so comprehensively all the magic of the many Camino moments , especially our fellow preregrinos…..and then you overplayed it with your grace, charm and beauty….can’t be there this year but felt like I just walked a bit of it this morning, thanks again❤
Dear Stefanie, I just finished watching your documentary and what a beautiful tribute you have paid to your beloved father, he would be so proud of you.
Your Camino did not end in Santiago, it only just began. You take the Camino with you and eventually you will realize what a blessing you have been given by experiencing it all, including the sore feet, heat, cold, hunger, sleep deprivation but with all of that came some wonderful moments & tears, friendships, encounters with people that said something touching and whom you may never see again, those are moments most of us say 'the Camino provides and it is a life changing experience, if you let it'. Your dad will always be with you, in your heart.
It was a very enjoyable and moving video documenting your journey. Buen Camino Pilgrim💖
Dear Stefanie….. I used to do backpacking in the Uk when I was younger, I’m 80year old and disabled in a wheelchair now, but I will be enjoying hiking with you in your video.
In case you don’t know, a movie about the journey was released, called “The Way”
You will meet many strangers alomg the way, some will become friends…. Take care, stay safe.
Regards….. Don.😀
Hi Don! Thanks for being here to hike with me 🤗 Do you have a favorite hike in the UK? I’d love to do one there one day!
@@StefanieHurtado Hi Stefanie….. my favourite hike was along the Ridgeway, I hiked part of it with a group one Midsummers Eve…… passing the burial mound “Wayland Smithy” and the “Uffington White Horse” Keep hiking my lovely, but take care and stay safe😀
I´ve watched many different Camino videos before, but I have got to say that yours just touched me in a way that the others didn´t. Keep walking the camino from now on in your life. Don´t forget the things you´ve learn there. Wish you a happy and fulfilled life.
Thank you for sharing your journey. I cried through parts of this . Your dad I am sure was with you along the way and was so very proud of you!! I hope to see more videos.
Really beautiful. I'm walking the Camino this August and I'm really glad I found your documentary. Thank you for documenting and sharing...I'm sure you dad is really proud!
What a journey! What a spiritual experience! How many friends along the way! This was so empowering and touching. I cried, I laughed, I enjoyed every single minute of the video. Your father was with you every single step, and you were absolutely right to put his name on the Compostela. Bravo Stephanie! and thank you!
Thank you for taking us all on this amazing journey.
Your father would be proud of you
Thank you for watching 💙
Dear Stefanie, thank you so much for sharing this experience with us/ me. While watching, i was curious, happy, sad, motivated to do it again too (i walked the camino 2010). You met such fantastic people. I felt it in every single picture, part of your camino-documentary. Thank you for your courage to share this personal view incl. all the achievements that come also through showing and sharing vulnerability . Susann from Leipzig/ Germany
It seems like the connections with people, the emotions you experienced, and your spiritual reawakening were the greatest takeaways from the journey. I admire how difficult it was and that you made it to the end. Very inspiring!
Yes, exactly, well said 🤗 thank you so much!
Thank you. Something drew me to watching this, and I felt a peace about it, that I really needed. Loss of loved ones hurts so bad and I swear they are with us in things like this. For me it has been running, but I hope this can be next. Thank you again . I just feel your dad is with you in this and smiling. Thanks again.
Poetic and poignant. Thank you for this Stephanie! This was some lyrical story telling. Your Dad would be/is proud.
Thank you so much ❤
Gorgeous share. Arturo y Debbie, you raised a strong young woman❤
I felt like I had to say a bit more about why I connected with this video so much. I loved the commentary and filming / the mix of elements you use to make the video. I did not have 2 hours to watch it when I started it but I could not tear myself away from it. My dad also died in 2017, He was the same age as your dad. I also hiked the Camino in 2018 July 5th - Aug 6th. I was also a bit sad when all was not resolved when I arrived In Santiago. In 2021 I volunteered at an albergue and then hiked to Finnisterre. I just love being on the Camino and all of the energy that comes from being with other pilgrims. I hope to hike again this Summer. Anyway, thanks again for sharing this, mostly for your volnerability through it all.
🔥 This documentary is unlike anything I've ever seen before! It's so raw and personal, capturing the essence of the Camino de Santiago. Your tribute to your dad is truly heartwarming ❤. I'm in awe of the beauty and emotions you presented. Your journey has inspired me, and I can't wait to embark on my own Camino adventure. Thank you for sharing your story and connecting with fellow pilgrims. Buen Camino! 🚶♀🌟
This is by far my favourite Camino video and the one that best shows the friendships made on the Camino.
Stefani, your film is so inspiring, beautiful and so touching... Such a beutiful tribut to your father … Thank you for sharing …Camino de Santiago is now on my bucket list
Stephanie!!! I genuinely enjoyed watching and learning about your story!! It is inspiring and heartfelt!!! I commend you for going back multiple times to push yourself. You were always seeking and we're open to what is... and on the Camino you found truth and love. Creation. Friendship. Clarity. No distractions. I hope I get to connect and experience something like this in my lifetime. To take a moment to walk along side people.... nothing else matters but to enjoy the walk, adventure and everything in between the path and each other's presence....that is life. And I am so happy you got to share and remind us that the small things in life like walking and allowing things to happen invites maximum opportunities of joy.
Thank you. Your love of life and people is apparent. You connection to family and family made - your appreciation for the simple, twists, challenges and the really difficult bits is inspiring. I will be doing my first Camino in May. I’ve been watching a few videos to get a hint of what’s installed - yours really gave me the best advice yet - to be open and present to your self and all that will be in front of me.
Hi Stefanie, Just wanted to leave you a little message to say first of all......Thankyou for sharing the reason why you walked the Camino and for also sharing the friends (Camino Family) you met along the way. To sit and watch any video for 2hrs and 2mins and NOT want it to end is very rare. You have a GIFT and being able to share your emotions and facing each one along the way was truly heart warming to watch. You met lovely people who all had their own reasons for walking and all should be so so proud- Your Dad will be forever in your heart and part of you always❤ Love Rose xx
Hi Stefanie - I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for your recent Camino de Santiago video. It was truly inspiring, and I was captivated by your journey every step of the way.
In particular, your dad's comment during the video resonated deeply with me: "You have to learn how to walk through fire and not get burnt." These words are not only powerful but also profoundly meaningful. They encapsulate the essence of resilience, strength, and determination necessary to navigate life's challenges.
Your openness and vulnerability throughout the video made me connect with you deeper. It reminded me of the importance of embracing discomfort and pushing through obstacles to grow and evolve as individuals. Your courage to share personal stories and reflections undoubtedly touched many hearts, including mine.
Stephanie, thank you for being an inspiration to others. Your Camino de Santiago video serves as a reminder that life's journey is not always easy, but with the right mindset and determination, we can overcome any obstacle that comes our way.
I try to be a writer and enjoy daily sharing positive thoughts with a small community. Your video and the thoughtful words of your dad inspired my recent piece, which I entitled "Fireproof." It was published this morning, and I sincerely hope you enjoy it.

Buen Camino!
I watched so many videos of the Camino but this is the one everyone should see!! Thank you Stefanie from the bottom of my heart! Your dad would be so proud of you, I bet he spiritually walked every step of the Camino by your side 💜💜💜 Hugs from Italy, Rita
Thank you so much Rita ❤️✨
Thank you for sharing this amazing documentary. I watched the entire video, and I felt like being there. The emotions, the places, the friends you made, and the deep meaning of your trip bring me to that place. You transmit so much light and joy. Thank you so much. It's so inspiring.
Wow. What a beautiful film! There is so much love gone into this, you know what you did…….you capture the feeling of Camino. That thing that is so difficult to explain to people when you come back. What a great job. Thank you so much. ❤
A stunning little documentary that opens the heart, the world and a formidable friendship. I did the walk in my early 30s from the UK and loved it. God bless your father’s memory too.
Thank you so much for sharing your Camino! It makes me revisit my own experience walking it and helps me to remember the important lessons i`ve learned. ❤
Wow, I actually watched this entire video in one session. Absolutely inspiring and beautiful. Many blessings to you. I believe your father was with you every step you took.
Doing the Camino is on my list for sure. Loved your documentary because you focussed on your feelings and people you met along the way. Friends for life that you had to say good bye and perhaps would never ever meet again, but you'll never forget them. Thanks for sharing your feelings with us and congrats. Really amazing.
Thank you Jose! I hope you get to experience the Camino one day 💙
What a journey in so many ways!. Two hours of watching seemed like 30mins and left me wanting more. Was a privilege to see the Camino through your eyes and heart.
What a most inspiring Video Stefanie. You carried your soul on your sleeve and portrayed the beauty of solitude. I want to walk the camino but health holds me back. Following you was the best alternative to walking myself. Thank you
The Meceta is the emotions part of the Camino. I love it. And is so nice to see all that places where I stop also.
I'm so sorry for your loss - your Dad looked like a very sweet person...😢 Thank you for sharing this heartfelt experience..
My dad died suddenly and unexpectedly last year at the age of 65. I just found you and was enjoying your gear review, and have now subscribed. I'm sorry we have this loss in common. Beautiful journey to remember your dad. I will be doing a trip to Mt. Fuji in Japan next year, something that makes me think of my dad a lot as he loved Mt. Fuji.
Oh wow 💔 Sending you so much love. My dad was also 65, and it was also very sudden. The first year is by far the hardest. Your trip to Mt Fuji sounds incredible-I hope it’s restorative for you ❤️
I walked El Camino in 2010. Thank you for sharing your story. It was very touching on so many levels. It brought back many memories for me too. Well done!
Your story has made me laugh, cry, and you made me see how much I need to walk that and do my pilgrimage. Bless you, bless your family, and thank you for making this video 🙏🏽
I just wanted to say thank you, this the true essence and meaning of what el camino is about, it is life, joys and sorrows, welcomes and farewells, overcoming adversity and incredible memories, we already know the destination so get lost, find yourself, find your way enjoy every part of it and please get rid of extra weight .. thank you for sharing this beautiful piece with us, buen camino!
Stumbled upon this and ended up watching the full two hour video, so raw and beautiful. Thankyou for sharing your authentic self. Buen Camino
Stephanie, this is such a real and moving experience that you have shared with the world! I have had the Camino in my heart for a couple of year but never really. thinking of the possibility of doing it. Your movie has made me remember that life is one step at a time. I would love to do the Camino someday soon. Thank you for sharing yourself and the love for your father with us. The way you are is a testimony of what an extraordinary person he was. He lives on in you! Blessings to you and your mom.
This is so sweet, thank you!!! I hope you get to have your Camino soon ❤
I walked the Camino from SJPP to Fisterra a few months before you did, and of the many Camino videos I’ve watched on CZcams before and since yours captured the experience the best by far. Watching it brings me back to so many special places and moments (and even helped me remember a few I thought I’d forgotten.) Thank you for sharing your journey!
I really enjoyed watching this. My brother and I drove across northern Spain. Santiago De Compostela was really neat to watch all the pilgrims coming into town. I wish you much luck. I’m praying for your happiness
What a wonderful video. One of my all time favorite Camino films. Thank you so much for sharing this personal journey.
Stefanie, I enjoyed your documentary so much ! You are a very sweet woman. I totally understand about your grief. I’m very sure your father is been walking every step of the Camino with you ❤
I walked the Camino Frances (SJPP to Santiago) after my father passed away as well. You did an amazing job of capturing the spirit and camaraderie of the Camino - all the feelings, both good and bad, happy and sad. I went back to walk the Portuguese route the next year (Porto to Santiago)...and I'm fairly certain I will return again - hopefully to walk it and share the experience with my children. There are a lot of Camino videos re gear, routes, etc., but you did an incredible job of making the viewer feel like they were there! Again, great job, and prayers for your dad! And health and happiness to you and yours! Cheers,
Thank you sooooo much for sharing such wonderful, awesome experience! At my age, Im no sure I will ever be able to do the Camino....Your documentary has brought me so close to it! Im not one to seat through a movie or long film, jet it was so easy to seat and enjoy it through your young sweet sprit and fresh eyes! THANK YOU!
Simply beautiful, Stefanie - thank you so much for sharing this journey with us
🙏🏼 thank you for watching! ✨
I enjoyed watching your journey as it helped me relive so many memories of my Caminos, the joys, the pain, the people. I'm 67, but not yet retired so I do segments. 10-12 days at a time, I learned that from the locals. I start where I left off. I seek faith, I find people and places that inspire me. It is addictive. You brought your father back to life for me. Thank you for sharing.
