I think you omitted a few steps between the planes and the 3d tracked fully cg background with live action plate composite at the end there.
Joking aside, these are fun little videos because they start with something small and end with a nice helping of inspiration and a few of your cool shots, please keep them coming every few years or so.

There was an incident during the Iraq invasion where a US unit was supposed to make sure the area was clear of aircraft before deploying some weapon. They destroyed one of their own choppers.
How come? Because they didn’t think of helicopters as “aircraft”.

how do you do this in blender 2.91? when I select "project from view" nothing happens, I think I've done it right up until now but I'm not sure

it may be the case you could argue "de minimus" in court - that each thing you stole is so small it doesn't really matter. the makers of the movie Se7en got sued by a photographer because one of his photos was used randomly, and the filmmakers won because that photo didn't really matter. There's a video of Angry Joe talking about his video getting taken down due to some dragon footage he used or something, and he brings up the Se7en court case, but I can't remember what the video was called. Thanks for the link. What I often wonder is this sort of obsession of not showing 'art' in TV programs by blurring them out. AFAIU there is nothing special about a painting or photograph, any sufficiently original artefact is protected by copyright. And the bar is very low, my daily doodles probable count as copyright. Or the way my wife arranges the pillows on the sofa, why are they not blurred out if a TV crew comes and interviews us (as if). IMO the law should be that to have copyright protection you should need register your work and pay like 50 snt or something trivial but non zero amount for the privilege that the society gives you that ethically questionable monopoly over your creation which in this day and age usually can be re-produced at almost zero cost.

When I select everything, then in edit mode select all the faces and I add a new material it only adds it to 1 flier. And I manually have to add it to all the fliers. What did I do wrong? thanks
Shift+D to duplicate the plane. Instead of Shift+A -> add new mesh

Tbh you should throw each of those lazy tutorials into its own udemy course for $15.99 just so I can look at people's faces when they dive into their purchased course, yet then still have enough to take away from the video to make it worth their while.
How are you selecting just the single object UV? when I try and do it I have to manually select the verticies I want....
Ah! Probably face selection instead of vertex selection! If you're using 2.8, try hitting the "1", "2," or "3" keys
How come he can duplicate the plane without blender creating a new objects plane.001 and 002 in the outliner window?
Ah! It's all in edit mode; new mesh, but part of the same object!
