A little about me and this channel:
My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ CZcams. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of CZcams I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on CZcams won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This CZcams channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)
What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different
This is a reaction video used to educated and give my feedback on the song and artist

Phil Lynott is one of the great Rock dudes of all time. A total Legend. ps Try 'Whisky In The Jar'.
Enuff said!!!
He was the coolest cat of them all.
Make sure it’s the full version, not the edited version.
I can only like this suggestion once but if I could I'd bang that button.
Dancin' in the moonlight.
Dancing in the moonlight.
Ooh that’s a great tune!
@@simsey1000 yes..just love the swing of it!
Love that song!
Fantastic tune.
Fantastic tune but King Harvest not Thin Lizzy.
Thin Lizzy - "Jail Break" a must listen to song.
Yes goes hand in hand with this song
Most everything of Lizzy's a must listen, at least once.
And Cowboy Song
Agreed. Jail Break is even better IMO.
Oh Hell Yeah! A DEfinite MUST REACT TO!!!
RIP Phil Lynott
What an under rated band.
Drugs fucked it all up imo 😔
@@shanareilly6649 doesn't matter, they still released plenty of excellent music and that music has never gotten the credit its deserved.. They're literally considered a "one hit wonder" in the US.
Thin Lizzy was great. Try "Cowboy Song"
must be from live and dangerous
My guitar-playin' brother's favorite song -- love it!
I like the Anthrax cover better, both absolutely worth a listen.
The Cowboy Song is awesome!
Romeo and the Lonely Girl is my favorite.
Ireland’s Black Rose....I’m 58, and still in love with that man 💕 🌹 you’ve got to watch a live video.
Ireland Representing!
Phil Lynott was cool personified. A true rock star and phenomenal songwriter. R.I.P. Phil.
Phil Lynott, the unheralded black rock and roll star
@@vandalayindustries3057 say what you want, but it's true
The Irish absolutely adore his as a hero!
He's certainly heralded here in Ireland & Europe. The guy is a legend.
Thin Lizzy are a hard rock band formed in Dublin, Ireland, in 1969. Phil Lynott, Thin Lizzy's de facto leader, was composer or co-composer of almost all of the band's songs, and the first black Irishman to achieve commercial success in the field of rock music.
It's a shame Phil couldn't control his demons. Such a talented entertainer
Lost 4 of my crew within a year....RIP
Check out 'Jailbreak' if you're going down the Thin Lizzy hole...
Thin Lizzy - "Jail Break"
Waiting for an alibi, jailbreak, Whiskey in the jar, Do anything you want to. Absolute stone cold classics
This song is everything a classic rock song aspires to be and seldom succeeds. Phil is a LEGEND! So influential... Favorite of Metallica bassist Cliff Burton - both playing bass and partying up above RIP!
@Pastor Of Muppets. Huge influence on kirk too. Inspired him to want to harmonize leads w James. But needed cliff's help. RIP cliff
"If that chick don't want to know. Forget her" l always loved that line & his delivery.
The song I heard in a tv commercial and didn't know was a song. That I heard later. Was KATE NASH - PUMPKIN SOUP. It was a cute song. I was surprised I liked it. It was in an old Payless Shoes Source tv ad that came out in 2008.
That is the best line in the song!
Best Irish rock band ever. RIP Phil Lynott. Whiskey in the Jar or Dancing in the moonlight
ONLY irish rock band ever 😁
Great song. The Cowboy Song is a banger too. Don’t be fooled by the title or the first few seconds of the song. It rocks!
The best band to come out of Ireland 🇮🇪🇮🇪
"Van is the man," said Phil.
The best thing to come out of Ireland since Guinness! You should check out "Emerald"!
Debatable but not entirely untrue 🤣
This is one of my all-time favorite songs. Good choice!
RIP Phil, one of the nicest guys you could meet loved Thin Lizzy, one of the most successful Irish bands paved the way for the boomtown rats, U2 etc
Back home where Phil Lynott was from where he grew up, His mom ran a bar in one of those hip summer time towns where folks spent their summers and this song came from that time.
U know that U are old when U hear a song of ur youth in a commercial.
Hilarious that this song has been immortalized as “ The Applebee’s Song “ ! Lol !
"Won't be long 'til Summer comes, now that the boys are back again." That line brings a smile to my face because of the sheer climatological absurdity of it.
This song was also in “A Knight’s Tale”. That movie had a lot of great songs in it.
And ‘Toy Story’.
Phill Lynott - a truly great Irish artist. What a great talent.
Please react to: Thin Lizzy: -Emerald -Cowboy Song -Jailbreak -Whiskey in the Jar -Thanks!!!
I salute you sir for that tribute to your grandmother at the end of the video. Rest in Heavenly Peace Mrs. Beneva Nash. Ma'am, you did good in this life, and it shows through in your grandson.
Phil lynott was an amazing musician. Hell of a bass guy to. It’s a shame was lost him because musically he was a genius
Honored to have visited Phil's grave in Sutton, Ireland......one of the greatest rockers of all time.
First thing, RIP Phil Lynott, what a banger, great feel good song and great vocals. Love how you appreciated this song and relish good music. Another great song from the 70's, so many good ones out there to react on. You got to get some Bob Segar to listen to like NIGHT MOVES AND AGANIST THE WIND.
Brah you should pulled up a live video of that song. That’s when this band shines. 👍🏼😃
Nah, gotta start studio with these gents
Don't Believe A Word - Thin Lizzy great lyrics
I had a ticket to see them in Manchester in 1980 and the lad I was sitting next to couldn’t go and sold the ticket to a teacher I absolutely hated, so I didn’t go and never got the chance again. The ticket price was £4.50 ! I’m still gutted .
Thin Lizzy are almost the definition of - not only Irish rock - but rock period. The twin-guitar line-up made them an almost unbeatable live experience. And it all folded much too soon.
Do Anything You Want To by Thin Lizzy is probably the most rhyming song written in English. Short and sweet with a nice message, worth a listen. It always makes me grin.
We miss him so much. RIP Philo 🇮🇪❤
the next Thin Lizzy track must be the one that aligns with your mantra: Do Anything You Want to (you can do anything you want to do)
Believe it or not they are from Dublin, Ireland. Even if they sound like they are from Detroit. Live the duel guitar licks.
the accents disappear when singing but I do love when you can hear peoples accents in songs.
Ah sure he had it put on especially in this one because it was a very Americana song. "Dinos bar and grill" is a made up place it's all about that vibe in this one.
Thanks for doing this! Thin Lizzy is often overlooked as being one of the top bands of their era. Please check out some of their other stuff - you won't be disappointed! Take care man.
Welcome to Thin Lizzy. One of the great bands from the golden era of rock.
One of those songs impossible not to like--40 years ago and 40 years+ from now!!!!
There's something about this song that really takes me back to years ago, when I was a kid, and the older guys that I really looked up to, at the time.
Guy is an irish legend.phil lynott rip.love your vids.marooned pink floyd
What makes this song so special is the unique blend of hard rock guitars, an R&B chord progression, and Irish folk rhythms. Brilliant.
Phil Lynott was Ireland's most famous rocker in between Van Morrison and U2. There's a statue to him in Dublin, which his mother unveiled at the dedication!
Cowboy song. Whiskey in a jar....
Brings me back to high school.... I love it.
Keep on smiling thin lizzy great song
Saw lizzie at the Coventry apollo in 1981. One of the best concerts ever ! . RIP Phil Lynott 🙏
Hands down. the greatest Irish export! Phil Lynot is a god. RIP my brother.
Lizzy!? Solid gold, from end to end.
In response to your question about songs in a commercial I remember about 8-10 years ago when a Zales Jewelery commercial came on with unfamiliar music in the background. As soon as I heard the singers voice I had to jump on the computer and figure out who she was. Her name is Brittany Howard and the band is The Alabama Shakes. Very bluesy and soulful. That commercial launched them from obscurity to touring the world. They may be too little known to be on your reaction rotation but I would highly recommend you check them out on your own time. Be well, stay safe!
Ohhh, the Thin Lizzy rabbit hole! Listen to "Emerald" and "Cowboy Song" -- those are favorites!
Phil Lynott is an amazing bass player and one of the greatest frontmen in rock music... and the twin lead guitars is their signature.
Always loved Thin Lizzy, this record is one of my favourites. Heard it come on the radio, cranked the volume to 11 and had several minutes of perfection. At the end there was a five second pause, and the DJ simply said, “they don’t make records like that anymore”. Unfortunately he is right. Listen to “I am so in love with you” by the same group, a different side to their normal style, but possibly their best work.
I loved Thin Lizzy. The lead singer is Phil Lynott he was from Ireland. He passed away in 1986 due to complications due to heroin. Whisky In The Jar is a great one.
What a beautiful reaction - you were smiling throughout. What joy!
Underrated group!!! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥
That was a hit back in time!
I went to a concert with Thin Lizzy on their Black Rosé tour 1979 in Lund, Sweden.
Oh and credit where credit is due. Thin Lizzy along with The Allman Brothers were one of the first Rock Bands to utilize twin lead guitars which became standard in heavy metal and southern rock.
I saw Thin Lizzy in 1983 at the Reading Festival in the UK - I believe it was Phil Lynotts last ever gig with them - and they were phenomenal. I wasn't a massive fan before that, but I was afterwards. They were also the loudest band by far that weekend!!!
Love your positivity. You enjoyed the whole song and it shows. 😀
I enjoy watching your reactions to cool songs, but I want to thank you because as I follow your journey I return to favorite songs of mine I haven't heard in awhile and I get to enjoy the song all over again. Thanks for bringing us along on your journey. Keep on rockin!
Fuck yeah finally someone reacting to possibly my favorite rock band
I was upstairs one day and I can hear my son who is seven years old downstairs singing this song I came down it was a commercial on TV. I was like oh hell yes you go boy Sing it Sing it. LOL
For your bonus question - i had the reverse happen, I heard a great song and then it was put in a car commercial with mice driving. The song was the Chemical Brothers "Go." The song is incredible.
played in a band that opend for them a while back - he was as cool as you would imaging - Phil referred to his kicks as 'Chuck Taylors' we all thought they were 'Converse' - Miss you big man!
His solo Album 'Solo in Soho', Kings Call with Mark Knopfler.
On the subject of songs in TV advertising, there were several Vangelis songs that I heard first in commercials and then later "rediscovered" by listening to his albums. One was "The Little Fete", which was used in Ridley Scott's Chanel No. 5 commercial in 1979. Another was "Hymn" which was used in a well-remembered Ernest and Julio Gallo wine commercial in the 1980s. Yet another was "Chung Kuo", which was featured in a Mercury Lynx car commercial, also in the 1980s. I guess you've probably figured out that I'm a big Vangelis fan. Interesting that a fan of Vangelis can also be a fan of Thin Lizzy!
Gotta say I love your reactions to different genres of music , your open minded and truthful to many different styles.
Yes James. We are aware of the commercial. Thin Lizzy is the best Irish rock and roll band ever.
This is a song I thought I was tired of hearing after years of radio play, but listening on earbuds is completely different. Also, your question about hearing a song on a commercial and then going and listening to the original - my experience is the opposite 😂 Suddenly the grocery store and commercials are playing the cool music I have listened to for years! I’m enjoying your reactions, keep it up!❤️
Johnny the fox meets jimmy the weed is one of my personal favourite songs by them a mix of Funk and Rock. Growing up in Ireland Thin Lizzy was something I've always listened to remember my teacher coming up to me while I was watching them in class and he said that he saw them live he got a lot of my respect that day from me lol
It’s wonderful to see reactions like this to songs I that have been a part of my life since forever. It makes me feel like I’m hearing it for the first time again and feeling the excitement I felt then.
My favorite Thin Lizzy song. That was a nice tribute to your grandma at the end. What a sweetheart.
This song is soo much fun to play ! The guitar parts are a hoot! Great Band!
Since you were asking about the commercial...yeah! I got turned on to Queen by a TV ad that featured 'I Want It All'. This must have been 1991, shortly before Freddie died. Think the commercial was for a Ford Fiesta lol
BAD REPUTATION, JOHNNY THE FOX, DANCING IN THR MOONLIGHT and STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU LIVE VERSION. Saw these guys many times live and Phil Lynott is one of the most underrated front men, singer songwriters back then. Awesome band my friend. More please 🙏😎
This is a great song. Never saw the commercial you mentioned as I'm in Canada. My most memorable introduction to an artist through a tv ad was Nick Drake's song "Pink Moon" in a Volkswagen tv ad years ago. It's a great song which you should definitely check out on your channel. In fact I recommend all of Nick Drake's music as he only put out 3 albums and died young tragically, so it doesn't take long to hear his entire catalog. In recent years he's grown a substantial cult following and gotten the attention his music deserves. He really is a great singer/songwriter who wrote really deep, emotional beautiful songs. A tortured soul, who gave a gift of great beauty to the world.
This has been part of my road trip playlist for decades.
Thanks man, you just took me back to High School on this one.
Thin Lizzy - 'Jail Break'; 'Don't Believe a Word'; 'Roisin Dubh [Black Rose]'; 'Get Outta Here'; 'Toughest Street in Town'; 'Emerald'; 'Johnny'; and 'Johnny the Fox Meets Jimmy the Weed'.
Also, check out Black Star Riders. They are a banned formed by former Thin Lizzy guitarist, Scott Goreham. They toured for a while as a Thin Lizzy tribute band, but now [under the Black Star Riders name] they do original stuff, in the style of Thin Lizzy.
Oh man Thin Lizzy, the best and Phils voice.
Ha! Takes me back to the summer of 76!
A new brand of denim jeans was launched in the early 1980s in the UK The sound track was a work of a young band from Glasgow called Gun ..
My dad's fav band, and now one of mine, such an underrated band.
I'd recommend, dancing in the moonlight( it's got a saxophone in it which you seem to like!) , whiskey in the jar, cowboy song and emerald, still in love with you, to name afew.
I’ve done some serious head bang to Thin Lizzy in my day. What a great band to grow up listening to.
That was a song from my high school days, hanging out at Dave’s Pizza in Bemidji, MN
James, next song from Thin Lizzy is Cowboy Song. FIRE 🔥
Thin Lizzy the man has powerful voice.
There is an Album called "War of the Worlds" He plays Nathaniel the priest.
Its not a visual thing but an audio. You will love it , it has some really great songs and
a story to boot.
There was a commercial back when I was a kid, around 1980 or so, for a country style clothing store. I found out the song they were using was The Ballad of Billy the Kid by Billy Joel.
I remember this song quite well. I live around Tacoma WA. We have a AAA Baseball team here. Back then whenever they had a home game the radio station I listened to would announce that and then play this song after.
You're having just as much fun as I did when I first heard it!
Those were the days man! I was 10 growing up in suburbs. You'd hear this blasting out so many ppl cars
Next on Rome Life Reactions: *Gary Moore & Phil Lynott - Out in the Fields
.* You can thank me later. Only if you react to the Official Video.
Awesome song
Definitely it rocks can't go wrong with Gary
"Bad Reputation"
Live and dangerous is the best live album ever!!!!
Thin lizzy underrated Irish band 🇮🇪🇮🇪
