I absolutely love both cars for years and have driven both, but I have more of an affinity for the Camaro. Comparing both is like comparing the beauty between a beautiful runway model and a beautiful athlete. Both gorgeous, but each appeals more to different individuals. To me, the Corvette is sleek and sexy while the Camaro is curvaceous, sexy and bad attitude! I am always amazed that people cannot recognize that everyone has a different pallet and there is no right or wrong. Love what appeals to you and leave it at that. I can afford both, but chose the Camaro. The 5th gen was great, but the 6th gen put me into the owners box!

I also own both (ZL1 1LE and C7 GS) and have owned 2 stingrays and a SS 1LE (all manuals, I don't drive autos). Some of your points are good. You certainly get more features for the cash with a Camaro (internally, etc), but the chassis/driveline/exhaust/body materials on the C7 are far superior. Handling car for car comes down to taste. The C7 will handle better, but is 'twitchy' compared to the well planted Camaros. For me, I prefer the Vette for a couple of reasons: 1) The removable top 2) the trunk is amazing (I call it my el-camino) 3) you can't ding a vette. This is big for me since my work parking lot sucks! 4) Looks (superficial, but my preference LOL) 5) Z51/GS manual gear ratios. Even with an LT1, this GS is a neck snapper and the SS 1LE never really was. 6) 400+ LBS!!!!
The Vette feels like it is a 1/2 generation older car than the Camaro (because it is). Screen resolution, features, updates, etc are better in the Camaro.
Your points are all great, but for me the vette wins (albeit only slightly). WHAT A TIME to be a chevy guy!
One last thing: I am a man, so I don't use 'heated steering wheels'. Sorry, had to LOL...

      Corvette also has:
      - Corvette beats Camaro at Nurgburgring
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_N%C3%BCrburgring_Nordschleife_lap_times
      - Corvette is quicker to 60mph in 3.7 seconds versus Camaro 4.4 seconds.
      - I am a man, so I don't use an automatic slushbox in a sports car (automatics should only be on non sports cars) (Even the 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S with PDK that I test drove was boring because it was automatic)
      - exotic car looks (fender humps view behind the steering wheel), lower roof and ride height
      - Corvette's stickshift has rev-match (which sounds awesome on downshifts) and it's much easier to live with in traffic, and it doesn't upset the balance of the car when you change gears, and less clutch wear.
      - With a manual transmission, I get 36mpg in 7th gear in ECO mode, I don't know what you're talking about
      - stiff all aluminum chasis and carbon fiber or composite body panels
      - stops 60-0mph in 90ft
      - corners at 1.13G - 1.23G, depending on which Corvette
      - 50/50 balance
      - active exhaust baffles
      - 7 speeds versus 6 speeds camaro
      - cylinder deactivation for 36mpg on the fwy
      - electronic LSD.
      - magnetic ride
      - better visibility (you can actually pull food through your window at a drive-thru)
      - cool hidden storage compartment behind console screen (I get wows from passengers)
      - lighter wheels (less unsprung weight)
      - run flat tires
      - magnesium framed seats (same vendor as for Porsche 911)
      - aerogel heat insulation (used by NASA)
      - hidden/shaded door handles so I never burn or freeze my hands and it looks cooler
      - better resale value (consumer reports shows only 2 cars have the least depreciation after 5 years: Porsche 911 and Corvette)
      - unique center mounted 4 exhausts
      - Corvette standard seats with a hole below the headrest is cooler looking than the Camaro's which look like a normal sedan's seats.
      - Corvette is more American made (built in Kentucky) whereas Camaro is built in Canada using more foreign
      made parts
      www.motortrend.com/news/15-cars-with-the-most-north-american-made-parts/
      www.cars.com/articles/carscom-2018-american-made-index-whats-the-most-american-car-1420700348632/
The only thing I wish the Corvette has from the Camaro is the optional ambient lighting .
That's why Camaro is the Corvette's little brother, and you're trying to create a sibling rivalry, that's a NO NO!

One is a muscle car and one is a sports car. Apples to oranges. Both are great at what they do but with money not being the deciding factor I would go with the corvette. There is something special about being that low in a car taking on corners at high speed. That’s not to say the Camero is no slouch at the track it’s just two different experiences. If value and options are top of your list I totally agree that the Camero is where it’s at. It’s really cool that we have so many options theses days. Chevy for life!

Corvette has way more curb appeal. I’m not doubting or disagreeing in anything you say but if you have a all blacked out z06 sitting next to a zl1 you will have more people look at the vette over the camaro. Vette caries a lot of weight in the vehicle word over. That’s smthing a camaro can never do. But both cars look good

You forgot to say from Stingray to ZO6 you get a wider body..... stingray is more flat on the side. Also you see more Camaros at student high school parking lots too. They are just to common. My friend has the Camaro SS and I have to ZO6 when we park and watch our vehicles while eating it's funny to see how many people take a look at the ZO6 and at times take pics but with his Camaro they just walk by... yes we have a good laugh... I mean a few people look at his ride but not like when they look at the ZO6. Try that experiment since you have both cars. Park about 6 parking spaces a part and watch how people react.... park it meaning do not have them running. Just let the looks attract their attention. Record it and see.

The Camaro is NOT better than the Corvette. I've owned both. Both are very good cars and would make just about anyone happy, but the Corvette is by far the better car. More balanced, better styling and handling, faster acceleration, more aerodynamic, easier to see out of, and less restricted. The Corvette is GM's pride and joy for a reason. It's the top dog and has NEVER ceased production since 1953 unlike the Camaro.

Camaro is best bang for buck, but Corvette is America’s Sports Car. Period. It also has never gone out of production, and doesn’t borrow it’s engine from its big brother. When the mid engine C8 comes out and the cars are more unique (assuming Camaro doesn’t follow suit like it’s been doing), then there can be a true comparison.
I’ve had a 97 TA WS6, test drove the latest Camaro, and still bought a ‘16 Stingray and haven’t looked back. Waiting for the C8 to see if my C7 gets sold to a former Camaro owner :)

All valid points and I agree with most of them. But one thing you left out. Camaro also come with v6 engines and any hill billy can own one. There every where and most people don't know the difference between the RS and ZL1. The corvette is a special car that turns heads and you just can't put a price on that.

Yeah I think the ZL1 is the best bang for your buck super car in the world.
It's crazy what you get for your money and you gotta spend 2-3 times the amount from exotic brands to get performance that beats the hell out of it.
Maybe some year I'll upgrade to the best Camaro but I'm fine with my SS especially with its red interior which I think looks better in the Camaro than Vette.
That all being said the Vette is the better track car but you pay for that 2 seconds on the track. The Camaro on the other hand I think is a nicer road/touring car.

Yea definitely get more with the Camaro. More weight and slower. An optioned downed LT4 Camaro would be a great idea. I don’t need a heated steering wheel in my C7Z when I can drive my Ram in cold weather that has heated seats and heated steering wheel. There is never one vehicle that can do it all the best. I would rather have multiple vehicles for different scenarios.

  • @johndoe3485
    @johndoe3485 Před 5 lety

I got a C7 2019 1LT Stingray. The truth is the Camero is a better daily driver overall. Its what i call “user friendly”. Corvette is even in a 2019 model is like one dude said is like behind camero in more modern tech inside. The comfort level while driving definitely goes to Camero. Thats my #1 problem with my vette, the seats and driving position is just bad. Like im not tall. Im 5’11” about 220 lbs. They messed up with the seat height in C7 Corvettes. Most owners dont want to mention it cuz you can adjust it so it can be tolerated, but its messed up. The problem is your line of sight with the seat in the best comfortable position is right at the very utmost top of the windshield. Not good. You cant see any intersection lights when you stop at a red light. Not acceptable. Now chevy could easily fix this problem if they only made a new seat as an option to buy that could be lowered 2 inches. But it seems like they never will. They done moved on. Its insane stupidity they dont do this. Because if i had to estimate conservatively , i would say minimum 1,000 Corvette sales are lost because people my height and taller just are not cool or comfortable with the eye line of sight being insanely to high at the very highest point on the windshield where u cant see red lights at intersections. I seen youtube videos where people are having to buy $2,000 to get the lowered after market seats to feel comfortable. Chevy just dropped the ball on this and have no intention of picking it up to fix the problem. So thats why i say you want a sports car that is comfortable and can be used as a daily driver with no problems, Camero all the way. If your willing to say screw comfort to have a higher performance sports car, then get the Vette. And if u just like the looks better on the Vette, like i said, your going yo sacrifice comfort if your 5’11” or taller. And i had a C5 vette before and the engineers made the line of sight perfect in the middle of the windshield where it is the mosy optimal view to see everything the best while driving. So somebody at Chevy dropped the ball with driver eye line of sight. They just completely over looked it this time around with the C7. Now theres other options Chevy could do like make a dash cam device that u can plug and play on the front of windshield that connects to the rear view mirror that could show you the lights at an intersection. But they are not even going to do that. The customer on there own will have to figure out the solutions to these problems which is not acceptable. Like i could put an iphone windshield mount and turn on my phones camera to see the imtersection lights. But like i said, thats just unacceptable. If Chevy just did these 2 things, #1 make a new seat that can be lowered 2 inches lower then the lowest seat position now and #2 make a device that you can hook up to the rear view mirror that lets you see the intersection lights. If they did just those 2 things then i would say f the camero and get a Vette. But since they are most likely NEVER going to do this, i would recommend you get a Camero, because you will have no complaints at about the issues the vette has. ✌️
PS: heres a video of the dude who put in lowered seats so he can be comfortable and see red lights. GM , Chevy u guys dropped the ball. Hope u fix this. ✌️

I have also owned and own both ZL1 Z06 and a 2018 CTS V. The V wins hands down interior ,technology and options features, My Z06 is 2nd followed by ZL1 which in my opinion uses very cheap interior parts. The Z06 looks the best out of the 3 and believe it or not my V gets about as many likes as my Z06. Both get more than my ZL1. Performance they all use same engines but ZL1 has better transmission A10 is best. Overall for me is Z06 followed by a very close CTS V then ZL1.

    - manual transmission has 7 speeds versus 6 speeds camaro
    - Corvette is more American made whereas Camaro is built in Canada using more foreign made parts
    www.motortrend.com/news/15-cars-with-the-most-north-american-made-parts/
    www.cars.com/articles/carscom-2018-american-made-index-whats-the-most-american-car-1420700348632/
The only thing I wish the Corvette has from the Camaro is the optional ambient lighting .
That's why Camaro is the Corvette's little brother, and you're trying to create a sibling rivalry, that's a NO NO!

I like performence cars. I don't give a flying fuck about heated steering wheels , pdrs, and useless back seats in a sports car. If you do, you should be shopping for a minivan . The vette weighs much less, has much better weight distribution, and handles much better. You know, the things that actually count in a sports car.....
Your comparison doesn't even make sence. If you want to compare , compare apples to apples. Aka...The cheapest camaro vs the cheapest vette, the ZL11le vs the ZR1 with ZDK.. Not to mention you are comparing the new Camaro vs the outgoing C7. 7 speed? Maybe because idiots are never content and keep wanting more more more. The ZR1 has more cooling than the camaro....The corvette will win everytime in a comparison based on what SPORTS CARS are designed for. The camaro has more room in the engine bay? No shit shirlock...Thats like saying your tampoon string has less room when you were skinny jeans vs a dress. I like your channel but this is just fucking stupid.
