Thanks for the note about how much to feed. My female betta is a tiny but active little thing, and since she always begs for food whenever I so much as glance at her I've been confused about how much food she actually needs lol. You're right when you say they like to watch things too - ever since I added a nerite snail she'll sometimes curl herself over it and just watch it move. She always seemed so bored before. Thanks for the tips!
My female does this too!! Surprisingly my male he's bigger than her and I got him first I could tell he was bored and I decided to get a female and see if they would breed but she actually became the aggressive one and nipped his fins a lot and so I separated them right away he never made a bubble nest but they chased each other around and she. He'd had enough he would chase her off if she came anywhere near her but would never bite her . I think I'll get a snail for them both
I miss my betta fish so much 😢💔 I had Severus for 2 years and he died. They may be common fish kept in the hobby but to me they certainly are the most beautiful ❤❤
My favorite part of breeding bettas is watching them start colouring up and seeing the random differences in colours and patterns. great video with a few helpful tips!
Excellent vlog. I’ve been feeding my bettas wrong. I mainly feed them frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp and rarely give them pellets 🥺. Thank you for setting me straight. They all have their own 5 gallon tank with everything from live plants, heaters and filters.
Thank you! That was so helpful. Especially the overeating tip! I've watched a ton of betta beginners videos in the past few days and so far you're the first to mention that bettas are little piggy piggies. Looking forward to binging your channel as we embark on our 1st aquarium adventure.
I remember my betta fish 🥺 He was a half moon, white with a clear tail. He was such a beautiful fish. I made a mistake and lost him 😢 Bettas are so beautiful 🤩
I have my male Betta in 7gal planted tank with java Moss, water wisteria and java fern (plus a Indian almond leaf). He's very happy and healthy and he's my first tropical fish. my 'easy' plant choices were thanks to your videos! Great Betta care video, thank you again for your helpful information; keep up the great work!
Awesome video buddy, all the bettas you have got look absolutely stunning buddy, u have done an amazing job in caring for them. Keep up the amazing work
nice great helpful video! i have a betta in a 5 gal planted aquarium and she is very beautiful. i made sure to do my research so i knew what i was doing! :)
I love your content. I kept imagining this video in fast motion LOL. You would be like running towards the camera then backwards away... don’t know why I noticed this. Much love.
@@KeepingFishSimple it did, most of this stuff was all new to me( my one and only betta was given to me unexpectedly, I had him for a couple months till fin rot got him and my corys while I was gone) I would prefer to keep anything like this from happening again
I really love your content mate. I currently live in the states on the west coast, from QLD in the far north, but I live here now. Would you happen to know of any resources to find good reliable breeders over here? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Currently setting a betta tank (as a lockdown project) and am thinking adding a Borneo Sucker. I noticed you recommended that a possible tank mate. Have you done that ?? There is a lot of conflicting advice out there. Keeping an eye out on your website for a nice betta. It will be a while thou as setting up a tank in lockdown is a bit of a pain Enjoying the channel
Hey, I was looking for a betta video like this from you literally the other day so this is very timely! When will you have some betta fish for sale on your website? I can’t see a link to order any.
Great video! Looking forward to getting my hands on a betta. Would dwarf rainbow's be a good dither for a 29 gal with a betta? If not some suggestions please!!
I can’t get my beta to eat anything but frozen brine shrimp. I’ve tried insect based, a few kinds of pellets, flakes. No luck. I’m not sure what else to try.
#7 is SO important! I had my betta (male red koi HMPK) on his own, and I was having trouble giving him small amounts of frozen foods, and he passed away with dropsy, probably because he was eating too much. I won’t make that mistake again.
Can you give Bettas just a variety of live and frozen food, and no dry food? Like bloodworms Monday, brine shrimp Tuesday, daphnia Wednesday, mysis shrimp Thursday, etcetera.
I've had a female betta in a 55g with 3 goldfish for like 9 months. She eats whatever they eat without any problems. I try to feed her other stuff sometimes to vary her diet. The only reason she was in there was due to her getting past a tank divider into the male's side of the 10g. It was supposed to be temporary but the container hanging on the inside of the 55 tipped a bit and next thing I see is her exploring. Waddaya do? She seemed ok so I left her. Guess I just got lucky.
So I have not had any trouble getting my bettas to breed. But the 10th day to 1 month I keep losing most of my fry. trying to follow all the info on the you tube. Any way you could do a video on the way you care for betta fry ?
@@Bobby11 I think so I hatch bbs every other day full table spoon of eggs. feed 3 times a day and put in microworms ones a day. Just to add a snack. How much should I feed?
HELPPPP so i breed two pairs of bettas. Both of them were succesful. Once it was time to feed them I 1st fed them with boiled egg. And after 4 days I fed them Decapsulated bbs (I actually plan to feed them the hatchable ones but I ordered the wrong one cause I didn't see the decapsulated warning). And now the first batch is 24 day old and the other one was 23 day old. Both of the batch is still small the first batch, I can see some progress (they are still small though like super small) but the no progress the second one. My guppy fry grew bigger and faster than them even with the fact that my guppies give birth 2 weeks after these baby bettas can sweem freely.
I would love to give my betta a varied diet... but everything he wants is the food for the coris I have XD He wont eat anything else than that and bloodworms that are a life XD I love him and I hate him XD
Just stand still. . . The back and forth only works if you actually edit the shots between tips and alternate between near and far between the edits. The walking back and forth in 1 row of your fish room is kinda wierd not gonna lie
Ok question...no one ever mentions how or if you need to sort out males and females needing two tanks? All you ever hear is don't keep two males they will fight. So can you explain those points to me please as this is the main reason I have always turned away from this fish despite its beauty.
The problem with gravel is you can't medicate the fish tank without removing all the substrate. So I think a bare bottom with potted or floating plants might be best. You need to add salt at times and plants don't like salt.

If you go onto the site and click shop, i think the bettas start on page 3 or 4. (the link is in the description) :)

Yes

Please make a content about molly fish

Yea except they’d need a 20 gal, maybe some little tetras or micro rasbora

you planning on doing some wild type alien bettas? are they as popular in Australia as they are here in the US?
I have some but the male is rather weak
What would happen if you bred hell boy with a half moon
Can you give Bettas just a variety of live and frozen food, and no dry food? Like bloodworms Monday, brine shrimp Tuesday, daphnia Wednesday, mysis shrimp Thursday, etcetera.
Might bloat them, and they would miss their essential vitamins and minerals
