      Hi Anh,
      This recipe and procedure would make 350ml of a drink, including a topping, if it's been shaken for the full tine... there shouldn't be any ice after you pour it out. If there is any space left, simply put in a little bit of the green tea... but it shouldn't be over 20ml worth or the tea flavor will become too strong.
      Hope that helps 😍

    Thank you so much! I am trying to put together a Boba Tea Bar for my daughters graduation party and theres a lot more to it than I thought. Trying to make it as easy as I can and this helps so much. Do you think I can make a 3 gal container of the tea and water already together (chilled), put the syrup in the shaker cup, add the tea/water and ice and shake then pour into the serving cup with the boba/jellies? Great video. I have a couple weeks to play with it once I get the ordered ingredients.

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Před 3 lety +5

      Hey Melissa,
      What a fun idea! Glad I could help 😃
      So, for a boba tea bar, there are a couple main options that you could look at for this.
      One time I got some larger clear plastic insulated containers and I pre-made a bunch of the drinks in advance in larger batches and poured them all in the juds. Then the people just poured out the drinks into smaller cups with a selection of bubbles and jellies and then that way they could keep going back and getting different flavors and they weren't getting huge cups to drink from just small ones and then that way they didn't take as much drink at a time.
      The other option like you mentioned which is a good one also is to pre-make water and tea and have the syrups out and then basically the guests would just kind of keep pouring in tea water or syrup until they get to the desired amount, (or you can have a sign that says put three pumps of the syrup and then 100 ml of tea and then fill the rest up with water and ice, etc). And then that way they just stir it themselves and add the toppings into their glass.
      So yeah I guess those are the two main best options and it's a great fun idea!!!
      Lemme know how it goes 😉

      Hello Thuy,
      Thank you for your kind comment 😊 😇 🧋
      Peach is a delicious fruit tea flavor. Have you had it with a Smokey Oolong tea base yet? That is my favorite!
      I also prefer a basic peach syrup opposed to a 'White Peach' syrup if I'm enjoying it on its own. But white peach is great mixed with a flavor like raspberry for example.
      Anyways, you're in a great city to be living for bubble tea! 😅 Lucky! I have fond memories of my youthful years there!
      You'll need to experiment with brands of syrups TBH. Just buy one every few months wherever you can. You'll find a favorite eventually. Or ask your favorite shop manager if they'll sell you a jug for double the price or something incentive wise. 😂

      Milk Teas and Fruit Teas are two TOTALLY different things.
      Like Apples & Oranges, they're both fruits, but they're eaten differently and have different results.
      I would say as a rule of thumb:
      Use Powders for Milks & Milk Teas.
      Use Syrups for Fruit Teas & Coolers.
      Hope that helps!

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Před 2 lety

      Hi Madeline,
      Thank you for the kind comment 😊
      Yes, if you're making this drink at home, then using nectar or a puree would be an option, although I don't know the exact measurements you would be using, but my guess is that you would double the mango volume in order to get a stronger flavor.
      If you are looking to make this for your shop, then any bubble tea supplier should be offering at least one brand of mango syrup to their customers. But of course they would have a high MOQ, minimum order quantity.
      So if you are not a business then your ideas of using a puree or nectar are the next best option. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
      Hope that helps 🙂

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Před 3 lety +1

      Hiya,
      Thank you!
      I do this because it's not possible to keep the tea in the insulated tea urn hot enough throughout the whole day.
      And drinks need to be 100% consistent for customers...
      This technique I use for both the powder drinks and the syrup drinks:
      for the powder drinks it completely melts down the powder before the tea is put in. For the syrup drinks, it fully breaks down any type of syrup and helps to bloom the flavor for both.😉
      (If you're at home and you're brewing hot fresh tea for your drink, then you wouldn't need to do the hot water step obviously. You would just brew a larger amount ❤️
      I have a "how to make fruit teas from home" series coming out next month)

      It depends of the brand of juice balls, but they should be good for a very long time as long as they're covered with liquid. However the longer they're out of their original juice, the less they'll taste like it.

      Hey Denis,
      You can do whatever you like, especially if you're making it for yourself at home.
      However if you're opening a shop, best to keep the menu simple in the beginning and then introduce more advanced concepts such as mixing different teas together.
      The majority of fruit tea bases for my shop were Jasmine green tea. But I did some automatically paired with Black Assam and Smokey Oolong. I let the customers know on the menu though in case they wouldn't have wanted that.
      I tried to keep all drinks "10 outta 10" in terms of flavor. Every single drink. So do what you think is best. Run tests with customers too and get constant feedback.
      If a drink/flavor didn't work, I wanted to know over time so I could make it better or take it off the menu. 😅
      Hope that helps!

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Před 3 lety +1

      These tea urns, the way they work is:
      Brew a large batch of tea in the morning, put it in, it sits all day and eventually goes warm as time goes on...
      It needs to be refilled when runs low, and needs to be thrown at the end of the day and cleaned out.
      In my experience, tea isn't like a pot of coffee that you let stay hot in a jug all day on a warmer like in the USA...
      Instead it is a delicate flavor which needs to be treated nicely or the flavor starts to become very weird! 😬 Yuck.
      This is part of the reason I use my hot water technique for dissolving the powders and syrups first... Is because at the end of the day if the tea isn't hot anymore, it's not being used to blend but instead only for flavor, (or else the powders would be chunky. Ew! ) 😂🤣
      Hopefully this all makes sense 🐱

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Marion,
      Thank you for the comment!
      So, it will depend on so many factors, there's no way I'd be able to get you a spot on estimate.
      But here's how you can calculate it:
      (In the UK, we couldn't write off shipping, so be sure to add shipping into all of these costs if it applies)
      Figure out what your weight measurements are first. Divide the total weight of the bag by that measurement. That will tell you how many drinks per bag. Divide the cost of the bag by how many drinks you can make from it.
      You'll want to do this for the Powder drinks. For syrup drinks it's by volume. Every item going into the drink.
      (Fructose is only a penny)
      Do the same for the cost of the cups and straws... (the seals are only a penny)
      Where your main costs come from are: Powders, Ice, staff wages, overhead business costs, rent...
      So I'd commend to calculate your final cost per drink, but also how much a drink costs if you make X # per hour.
      It's very complicated to explain, but hopefully that makes sense 😍
      All the best! 😍
      p.s. don't forget those toppings if they're included in the price for the customer! 😂

    Is 7ml standard in fruit and milk teas for 350ml cup? How do we calculate for bigger cups?
    Also, what does it mean when they say 25%, 50% or 100% sugar. How much is 25% in ml?
    Thanks again.
    Roopal

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey Roopal,
      The amount of fructose you use will depend on how already sweetened your powders and syrups are.
      I always recommend a very small amount of fructose if possible... but sometimes the product is already too too sweet and you can't.
      You can use a Fructose machine if you want... I just never found the need. 😂
      If a basic milk tea recipe used 14ml (2 pumps) then 50% sweet would be only 1 pump (7ml) And if they said 25% sweet, that would be a half a pump... or approx 3.5ml.
      Where you work, do you use ounces or ml?
      If you making a new drink flavor with new products, start by making the drink with no fructose. Taste a small sample. Then add in 7ml and shake again. sample again. Then try with one more 7ml to equal 14ml in total... sample again. You'll know what tastes best. If it's a powder and my recipes, then probably a good amount is 14ml... but if your powders are very sweet, then maybe not.
      I hope this helps 😍

    Can you use powder rather than syrup or are powders only for milk teas. Likewise can you use syrups on milk tea 🧋

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello W George. That's a good question. 👍🏼
      Let me begin by saying, as a general rule of thumb, bubble tea shop supply powders are used for milks and milk teas. And bubble tea shop supply syrups are used for fruit teas and coolers/watery drinks without tea.
      The thing is, as soon as you get into other types of products that you can use, so for example perhaps a freeze dried dragon fruit powder that's been ground up into a very fine consistency, well that's technically a powder but it's not from a bubble tea shop supplier. In that case that powder would be used for a fruity drink or to flavor a lemonade. But wouldn't necessarily go good with a milk tea as it's too light and might not dissolve actually! 🤯.
      It really comes down to where you're getting your products from. But majority of bubble tea shop suppliers will generally stick with the basic rule of powders for milky drinks and syrups for fruity tea drinks.
      However, you also don't want to overlook the non-bubble tea shop type syrups, such as Monin or 1883, which can easily be added to both fruit tea drinks or milk tea drinks... More advanced shops will use these for flavoring both milky and tea drinks.
      But if you are a beginner shop or a beginner bubble tea connoisseur looking to make drinks at home, and you are using bubble tea shop supplies, best to stick with the rule of thumb which I stated above.
      Hope that helps!!!😇😇😇😇😇

      Hello Rawa,
      Congratulations 🎇👏🏼
      So really it comes down to your personal preference for the technique and what works best for you and your shop.
      The syrups that you are sourcing for your fruit teas will probably be different and flavor and viscosity... so I would say to try both techniques and see which result yields best for not only you, but your customers taste buds.
      But to specifically answer your question regarding the measurements; this technique I used in my shops because if you make a large batch of tea at the beginning of the day, by the end of the day it may only be lukewarm. So to overcome this, we know that no matter what if you add the 50ml in order to break down the fruit syrup or the powder, and then you add the measurement of the tea, once it is shaken in the shaker with the ice, the volume of 350ml will be the same no matter what.
      Whereas if you are simply only adding a black or green tea which is cold to either a syrup or a powder, once it is shaken the volume of the beverage will be much less and the taste will not be the same either.
      This is also why when I teach people with my playlist of how to make a fruit tea or milk tea at home, I am keeping in mind that the measurement for the tea flavor is much smaller and the volume is slightly larger. I teach a different technique in those videos for at home use. I understand that that liquid being used to break down the flavor molecules is at a hot temperature.
      Hope this helps to clear everything up for you. Do let us know how it goes for your shop.😇😇😇
      P.s. about the Fructose: I would check with all of the bubble tea suppliers that are available to you in your country, and offer what types of sweetener varieties they have. Alternatively, the syrups I am using do not have any major sweetness in them. The fructose is used to bring out the flavor really. It is needed for that area of the tongue for the brain to register it. But perhaps the syrups or powders that you will be buying from your supplier already contain sugar in them, and therefore you may not even need to add any...?

    • @Rawaa_99
      @Rawaa_99 Před 2 lety +1

      @@Rawaa_99 hello again Rawa 👋🏼
      Yes, you have a good question.
      If you're going to use any type of sugar, you want to make it into a sugar solution. Because sugar and cold and ice doesn't dissolve very well. So it's best to dissolve it in advance. You can look up different types of sugar solutions online, but one-to-one ratio usually works out pretty well. So you do one cup sugar to 1 cup water, and at a very low medium heat just keep stirring it until all of the sugar dissolves.
      But there's also different types of ratios you can do depending on the type of sugar you use.
      Once you figure out what type of sugar solution you want to make, dependent upon the ratio and the type of sugars, then you want to start adding that to your drinks a little bit at a time to figure out how much you need to use in order to get the sweetness level that you and your customers like.
      So for example fructose is a super concentrated level of sweetness. So if I'm usually putting in 14 ml into a drink, you might need to double or triple that amount if you using a sugar solution.
      But many people do this sugar solution technique and it works very well.
      Also I just wanted to bring it to your attention that I think what you're doing by sourcing local supplies is totally fine and I'd say go for it. That's the great thing about bubble tea, that even though it has its heritage from Taiwan, it's been updated along the years and now uniquely represents each country and culture it is sold in.
      On my website www.BubbleTeaExpert.com I even have a recipes packet that is just for fresh fruits and local sourced ingredients. So it definitely can successfully done and I think that with enough practice and experimenting you'll be able to get really amazing drinks, regardless of if you have bubble tea powders or syrups at your disposal.
      Hope that helps 😇 all the best to you!!!

      Usually it's a 1:1 sugar:water or 2:1 sugar:water ratio... The more concentrated sugar flavor the better.
      You'll need to decide what works best for you, and make sure your staff is trained up to easily make the sugar solution in the shop. 👍🏼😇
      Because I personally don't work with a water solution ratio, I can't advise how much you'll be putting in.
      But because it is literally just sugar melted in water, I would suggest making the base drink and shaking it. Then add a tablespoon of your sugar-water and shaking it in each time, until you get to the desired sweetness. You might need to do this with a few different types of drink flavors just to make sure that that measurement is correct, and then have your staff trained up on it for the recipes. 😎

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Amanda,
      Great question!
      It will depend on different factors such as: the sweetness of the flavored syrup and how much syrup we're using... If the syrup is quite thick, it can't go through a pump. So it's easier to measure out in brown scoops. This will use less fructose. Vs through a pump, we can use more fructose to bring out the flavor.
      And if we're mixing different syrups, then many times no fructose is needed.
      For a shop, I always suggest side by side taste tests before deciding on a recipe for business.
      You can try increasing the syrup amount. This will usually do the trick. Sometimes it won't. Again, side by side comparison against using it with fructose will tell.
      Syrup is more expensive than adding a touch of Fructose. So long term it is a more expensive option.
      I'm not sure about the Lemonade syrup. Do you have a brand example I can Google?
      But yes probably it's okay. The ratio of volume will be different though definitely.
      Hope that helps 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

      Ok, first question about Fructose: I've done a little research online, and it appears they're all made from corn initially, but the outcome of the item varies and the flavors and concentrations of the sweetness levels are different as well.
      I would recommend if you want to go that route, to first get small quantities of each and trial them. Decide which one you like the overall flavor of the best and in which quantity inside the drink best suits you and your budget as well.
      Next: Yes, usually bubble tea shops are going to have the green tea base with a small amount of Jasmine in it, and others may have a large amount of Jasmine in it.
      (There might be a shop that also does a green tea like flavor of an oolong, like a high mountain along from Taiwan. although the price of those types of drinks are usually higher and/or limited edition only.)
      From experience, a simple basic green tea is a bit too strong and 'Twangy' for my taste buds of a fruit tea and it lacks depth.
      I find also that many shops additionally brew their green tea at either too high of a temperature &/or for too long of a time, which doesn't taste good either.
      So in my opinion the best route is to go for a medium strength jasmine green tea and brew it as per my instructional video which can be found on my CZcams channel 'large batch of jasmine green tea'.
      Hope that helps 😇

Could I request one for the slush/yogurt drinks that are at boba shops? I haven't figured out how to make those and I'm dying to. Hi.
    If i want to make mango milk tea should i just add regular milk to this recipe?
    And also if i use sugar syrup, instead of fructose, will it taste the same?
    I have seen your other video but i prefer mango syrup and not mango powder.

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi! I want to make sure to clarify your questions as there are many. 👍🏼
      -If you're planning to use Mango Syrup instead of powder, are you referring to the type of syrup found in a bubble tea shop, or syrup from a can of mangos? If the kind found from a can of mangos, that's fine, but you'll need to use a higher proportion of it to the milk, and the flavor won't be quite as strong.
      -In regards to sugar syrup instead of fructose... you could make a Simple Syrup Solution to keep in the fridge instead... I would do a 2:1 ratio, (for example 2 cups of sugar to one cup of water) or more. You can find more about this online... but basically you cook it over a low heat until all the sugar is dissolved. Fructose is a very concentrated version of a simple syrup, so only a little amount is needed... but the benefit of making a simple syrup solution, is that after you made your drink, you can keep adding little by little of the syrup into the drink until you reach the sweetness level you want, tasting it in between when you stir it.
      -Lastly, if you're making this from home, and all the items you're adding into the drink are of a natural liquid form, you could simply mix them all together, add ice, and skip the shaking part. Keep them all in the fridge in advance so they are already cold, and they would combine easily anyways.
      Hope that all helps! Good luck!

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Před 3 lety

      The syrup you have will be similar but different 😂 Usually that type used in bars is more tangy and extra sweet... so you might need to do "trial and error" a few times to get your measurements correct for the ideal drink that you like the taste of.
      For you, it maybe best to start off by diluting the syrup into the hot tea, and then once you've topped it up with ice, then add the milk and shake. This way you won't scald the fresh milk. From there, if it's not sweet enough, add the Simply Syrup solution we spoke about above in small increments. 👍🏼

      Hi Kassy,
      You could if you are using a blender. I wouldn't know how much to use, but perhaps start off without about a cups worth, blend all the ingredients together, and keep sampling and blending more mango until you reach the flavor you like and it tastes very strong. (Make sure you blend it with the tea.) Then after you would shake it all in ice to add volume and dilute the flavor.
      If you want the beverage to be smooth, you will want to push it through a fine sieve as well.
