- “Overlook” is a tribute to Western Nebraska. Nebraska is known for it’s cows, crops and college football - my intent is to showcase the unique landscapes and dramatic skies that the panhandle has to offer.
I began production in 2016, but my urge to explore Nebraska’s panhandle came after a road trip in 2014. I shot hundreds of timelapse clips since my initial trip, and have narrowed it down to my favorite 25 scenes for this film.
Next time you are planning a trip, or driving down interstate 80, consider a short detour to these incredible locations.

Absolutely beautiful. As someone who's been doing timelapse for over 10 years, this is super well edited and shot. Congrats.
And I'll no longer write off Nebraska as flyover country ;)
Give my channel a look for some more timelapse stuff if you have a minute.
Thanks! This is the reaction I was hoping for!
Lived in Nebraska since 1991 then moved back to Zambia in Central Africa. I will always call Omaha my home can't wait to get back to Nebraska ❤
Without a doubt, my favorite part of my favorite state.
This makes me want to go hiking!
No place like it. Great shots.
Unbelievable scenery with the atmospheric ambient music ...made the hair on my arms stand up! Nebraska is a "must go" trip for me! Cheers from Alabama !
really nice footage
Man I grew up in Missouri and had no idea how pretty the great plains of western Nebraska and Kansas were. Would love to visit some day.
Escape the tyranny of I-80! Turn north at North Platte (or Sidney or Kimball) and it's a whole different world. The Sandhills, Pine Ridge, the Nebraska Badlands, Sowbelly Canyon - it's just amazing.
Absolutely stunning footage! Very well done, and inspiring!
Unbelievable footage! Great work and thank you!
wonderful imagery
lovely
Precious!
Excellent shots!
Great work, man! Keep it up, it's gorgeous.
Awesome!
0MG. So beautifuly done. I clicked on this wondering exactly if Nebraska had mountains. Thanks.
Sandhills/ Niobrara/ Missouri River still more Nebraska to be seen!
driving through western Nebraska.. it feels like Wyoming already
Amazing. Gorgeous. Awestruck. Inspiring. Thank you for sharing such beauty with us. How did you do this? You spent 4 years in Nebraska? Were you working, self funded, living out of the truck? I'm so tempted to go off and live a little while in the wild.
i live and work in omaha, i traveled and lived in my vehicle while shooting this video for a few weeks of each year. Thanks!
Is the night sky so vivid out there?
Reitz86 it is fantastic, if you check a dark sky map it is truly one of the darkest areas in the country.
ONELAPSE wonderful video, I’m a Mari Sandoz fan and have been wanting to visit the region, very inspiring
YES!! I live in the Sandhills where those shots were taken and it's EXACTLY like that. We have no air pollution here clouding up the sky and no light pollution from towns either out here. It's a vast, clean, empty QUIET, peaceful land. The sunsets are gorgeous also. I've been everywhere and Nebraska skies are by far the best. Just nothing you can even describe.

What is the technique used to have the night sky and landscape visible simultaneously in the film?
Really beautiful. Where is the location that's around 58 seconds on the video? Thanks!
I'm guessing, but it looks like the north side of Pine Ridge, somewhere north of Ft. Robinson. There's a very cool unknown state park there called Toadstool, which is like a small Badlands, but w/o people. The northwest corner of the panhandle is just jaw-droppingly beautiful, and if you visit, you'll probably have it mostly to yourself.
@@davidalbrecht6507 Thank you, David! Wonderful area, for sure.
Damn.... And I thought where I lived 'Alberta' was beautiful. This is as.
Fuck... it’s amazing to see how New Hanover is so the same as Nebraska on RDR2. Great job Rockstar!
I am surprised there is no footage from Panorama Point. It's a vista near Kimball.
I went there and didn't have the best weather conditions and then I just never really came up with an idea for how I could shoot it... i'll figure something out eventually... i'm never done shooting out west.
Really beautiful! I am making a little vid of a historical event in Nebraska. Would you mind if I use a short clip? I could put your channel in description. In any case, thank you for your consideration.
Breath of the Wild if all of the food items were corn
