    Make glowing liquid easily by using tonic water that contains quinine. Quinine is a chemical that reacts to UV light. Tonic water can be found at almost any grocery store and it's cheap to buy. The more black lights you add the more the tonic water will glow. You can make ice-cubes with tonic water and use it for your drinks. You can also make glowing decorative shapes. It's a simple and fun experiment. Give it a try!

      the word glow or glowing describes a color or feeling ( . the embers of the fire had a warm glow ) or ( her performance received a glowing review ) it does not mean to emit without an external source. all light is derived from an external source, mainly heat.

      tool/building shops would usually not sell this. UV lights are more often found in party/novelty shops, b/c some parties/raves/etc use UV lights so the dancers/party-goers glow as they move. You can also find them online at Amazon and blacklight.com. In fact, blacklight.com used to provide some of the bigger CZcamsrs with free blacklights & glow-in-the-dark stuff free in exchange for a promo video. No idea if they still do or not.

    And the only reason you can easily buy tonic water with quinine is that it used to be a preferred anti-malaria drug, but is still popular as a mixer for gin-and-tonic and a few other alcoholic drinks. Weird how history works that way.

    • @aickavon
      @aickavon Před 8 lety

      +ELGMA not exactly, a lot of people are highly allergic to Quinine and many folks can have mild to severe reactions that may become permanent due to Quinine. It's safe to drink for non-allergic people in small doses (half a glass or a full glass for instance) and it's great for relieving leg cramps if you suffer them, but drinking more than that could potentially cause harm. Quinine is mildly toxic.
      Is it safe? Yes within small doses, like a bee sting. Is it completely safe? not... completely.

    • @Ignisan_66
      @Ignisan_66 Před rokem +1

      Black light is not black. Its just ultraviolet light with some visible violet light. Ultraviolet spectrum is invisible. These names like "black light" just confuse people.
