A while ago they mentioned that a finale series to cap off the trilogy is in the works called Lazarus. I just hope it hasn't been cancelled because of COVID

I have just binge watched Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes over the past few days and it is absolutely brilliant. Philip Glenister owns the whole thing and should have received an award for his phenomenal performance. He was nominated several times but did not win, a travesty in my opinion. I am now his biggest fan. The last episode had me in tears. Wonderful.

I watch them every few months. Just finished Life on Mars. Still great. Wasn't fussed on Ashes first couple of episodes. Got into it though. The last 3 episodes were some of the best TV I've ever seen. Stunning ending.

Much as I miss Ashes I'm glad it ended after 3 series, the best TV shows are always the ones that leave you wanting more rather than those that just keep going that bit too long, saying that I'd have loved a third series of Life on Mars.....

There was some books written that took place after Sam Tyler went back, I don't know what they're like though
I’m pretty sure they are making another series for 2023
To be fair, if Mars had continued like it was supposed to (John Simm asked to leave because the hours were to long and he had a newborn), we would've had a couple more seasons and then would've seen a different version of the conclusion of Ashes. In my opinion it was better this way, Mars had a very powerful and subvertive ending that was open to interpretation, and we still got the full on explanation from the end of Ashes. In a way we got both possible endings of Life on Mars because of the fact it was only two seasons.
Saying that - it seems like Sam Tyler might be coming back for a third show.
Joshua Holloway idk if I want a third series because I feel like it might ruin the first 2. But I can’t complain about more life on Mars.
This was, and is to this day, the best surprise I got in a TV show like EVER.....

Whatever else happens in my life, I saw the Gene Genie dance. So my life was worth living.
This makes me laugh EVERY TIME. The Gene Genie made me laugh so much. His usual agressiveness is even shown while being this unbelievably camp. Brilliant. Ray and Chris just make this even more perfect though.
The finest one minute and six seconds in the history of the BBC.

the first time I saw this I absolutely loved it! I loved both Phillip and keeley so so much. you can see Phillips true self in this, absolutely! look how happy he is skipping across the floor XD. such a lovely guy on and off screen!

It's 2020 and this is still the most glorious scene in TV history!!! What a shame we never got a full version with Keeley coming out of the car to dance with the boys!
I'm currently watching through Ashes to ashes after finishing life on mars on netflix and I gotta say I'm looking forward to season 3 because I deffinetly want some context

i loved ashes to ashes but they finished on a high, brilliant storyline and actors and they didn't go into overkill with it. its still funny now. a true gem from british tv.
