The thing about that is that matter can be created nor destroyed ,so even though Thanos said he DESTROYED the stones it's still 100% possible that the matter of the infinity stone are still floating around ,but only in concept.....maybe
Well, he did say they were "reduced to atoms." So, theoretically, you could pull the atoms together to recreate the stones.
The problem is, even by Marvel standards, that's ridiculously impossible and impractical.

@@Getroy RDJ didn’t do it for money he played a role for a bankrupt Dom then boom started MCU. His character arc was coming to an end along with his contract, the money paid to him rose because he became a less risky actor. Keep in mind he played the role for 10+ years too, he said he’d come back too if they had more stories to tell that would further his character arc.

Watching this now, a year later, you know how accurate matpat's assumption about the MCU's ambition was! Look at Spiderman No Way Home now. For those who watched it, you know it topped End Game! Marvel keeps beating its previous records and keeps building new storilines on its way to achieving its ambition. ALL HAIL KEVIN FEIGE! And matpat for predicting this a year or how many ever years before these movies come out. I LOVE MARVEL and I LOVE MATPAT for making these super interesting and deep theories!

Graviton could have easily been a very powerful force for good but his desire to "save the world" inevitably ended in its destruction. Its disappointing, I honestly like the idea of his character. An individual with the power to manipulate gravity.

@Mega Flame147 the atom(s). Plural. You can’t destroy them. They still exist, but they’re so incredibly small it would take more than a microscope to see them. They’re made of atoms, so technically the atoms do. So yes the atoms of the stone keep the flow of time, because without the atoms the actual stones wouldn’t exist.

Thanos did not “destroy” the infinity stones he reduced them to atoms meaning the stones are actually there own element (like Ca, N, O etc) so the exist but as one or he made stones as small as the atoms. Meaning you can recreate or make them bigger again. It’s just a theory a film theory

so not the actual/real time, but what we see it like is created by the stones.
I think the difference is that the first, actual time continues to "exist", where at the same time, different alternatives split from the original flow and go on by themself, resulting in semi-parralel universes

when the ancient one said "creates the flow of time", i think what she meant was the energy within the stones creates the flow of time, and since matter cannot be created or destroyed the energy that was crystallised in the stones was just released back into the universe when Thanos destroyed them, allowing for the continued flow of time. Also what was in the actual scene was the time stone being taken out of the picture eg. being taken to a new point in time or another universe entirely, which is what we see in endgame, the stone being taken to a new point in time, making it not exist in the previous point in time, meaning the energy in the time stone was erased from that time which create a split in the multiverse there.
But that's just my theory, a FILM theory

@@futuramayeah By reducing them to atoms, they still exist, but cannot be used by anyone else. Since in order to use them again, one would have to collect all the atoms of the infinity stones and recombine them. Which needs the snap itself to be possible in the first place.
So in order to use the snap, they had to go to the past when the stones were still in a 'usable state'.

The battle was the final battle in Endgame.
Nor is there "only 1 timeline." He is the new sorcerer supreme, who cannot see past their own death. He had to look into a surviving outcome that led to one he actually came back in to even know "it worked." So in other words, any character that died could've lived if an alternative winning route was taken.

Thanos haven't destroyed infinity stones, he just reduced them to atoms. So the flow of time is okay as it should be.

well Thanos stated first that he "reduced them to atoms" and a few minutes later that he "used the stones to destroy the stones" so it depends on your definition of destroy. when something explodes for example, the atoms that make it up don't cease to exist, they're still somewhere in the universe (usually on earth) just in varying degrees of disassembly so as to not resemble the object they used to be part of. so again it depends on how you define "destroyed."

I actually love that it's not 1. 1 would be the designation of the origin timeline, the first, and why would it inherently be assumed that that timeline is where the main timeline should be? So many branches, always growing, other branches swap places, and take the lead, often. It stands to reason that the main timeline, the dramatic one with purpose and consequence, isn't inherently the origin timeline, the most prime one.

4:19 I’m guessing this has to do with the fact that the infinity stones play a pivotal role and a disappearance of the stones before they play their part would cause the TVA to come along and do their thing. Thus the ancient one says that wouldn’t go well for theirs.

Mini theory: the reason thanks destroying the stones didn’t mess with time is because they are all gone, so there is still balance. If he had destroyed one stone things would have gotten messy.

I remember watchin a video giving a good explanation as to why the universe wasn’t destroyed when the stones where, it was because thanos didn’t actually destroy them, he just reduced them to atoms, so they technically still exist, just in a state that no one could use them
