    I had to pause in the middle of the video and just comment on how informational it is. I have always wanted to be a nurse but never thought I could actually do it. But after talking to a few people and ultimately watching this video definitely makes me want to do it. In the beginning I let so many people discourage me and in the end I felt like I was going to fail. Hearing your story, the good the bad, just the brutal truth made me feel comfortable in some type of way. So thank you for sharing your story with us. Thank you for encouraging me💕

    The impaction and competition for RN programs in California is insane. I’ve learned personally it’s extremely hard to go straight to RN here. I completed prerequisites with a 3.9 GPA and 89 on the TEAS and still couldn’t get into all 5 RN programs I applied to. I’ve realized I made the mistake of not getting experience in healthcare beforehand; some schools give more points for that. So now I’m about to start CNA school, and possibly LVN later

    • @jaylinandfelipe
      @jaylinandfelipe  Před 3 lety +11

      Hey Julia! Yes the RN programs in California are pretty competitive! That is the reason why I did the LVN to RN bridge program in the first place!
      YES! LVN & RN programs offer extra points on the admission packet if you were a CNA previously! All CNA courses are very easy and very quick! So if you’re waiting to get into a nursing program you might as well get your CNA done!

      Hi Julia! I’m actually looking into CNA school during summer after I’m done with some pre-requisites to transfer into a ADN program, and I live in Orange County. Do you recommend any CNA program in specific/ money wise. I’m a little nervous because when I’m searching there is so many ADs and schools to pick from.

      I’m scared because of this too. I’m going to get certified as a CNA at least. The pay is still better than anything else I can find right now.
      And while I’m getting experience in the medical field, try to go for ADN.
      Even the RN programs are so hard to get into, but I’m hoping to find a path into ADN.
      Do the whole bridge to BSN eventually because I have a prior BA. I hope to get into an accelerated program with help from a hospital.

    JAYLIN! I'm so glad I found this video! I've worked as an HHA while doing my pre-reqs at a community college (I am currently working as a CNA floater at a hospital in San Diego) My goal is to be an LVN. Perhaps RN sometime down the road. However, all the LVN programs that I am looking into seem to have a long waitlist ESPECIALLY SINCE THE PANDEMIC.
    I am strongly considering an LVN private school ($37,000). I know it is a lot BUT I think it would pay for itself. Do you have any insight? Please and thank you!

    Hi, loved your video! Im starting an lvn program in 2 months but I can’t decide which route to take after getting my lvn license. Did you do the lvn-rn bridge program where you get you AS degree or the 30 unit program where you do not get a degree but will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN? Or was it an LVN-BSN program? In the end I want to get my BSN, just not sure how I want to get there yet.

I just got my Lvn license and am about to start working with an agency and they placed me in a convalescence facility and i want to do the bridge lvn-rn course but my school doesn't offer it because it's a private school so I want to apply in los angeles trade technical college for the bridge courses. Hope am on the right track?

    This is seriously my EXACT plan. I start a sponsored CNA program through a rehabilitation care facility in mid September and at the end of September I’m getting my pre req’s for LPN school done and then I’m going to get my CNA 2 so I can work in the hospital. I plan on going to LPN school next fall. Thank you so much for sharing your story

    Hi Jaylin, my name is Daisy and I have a quick question... I barely graduated high school and planning to do nursing. I want to graduate as soon as possible so do you think it’ll be best doing community then starting off as a cna and building my way up? What would you recommend?

    Hey it's me again! I'm watching a bunch of yt videos for RNs and I recently commented on your prison video. I want to ask, do you feel that being a new grad going into home health, you're getting foundational skills in nursing? I'm asking bc I hear exposure to bedside such as telemetry, med Surg, and or ER is the best as far as developing core nursing skills. What's your input?

    Hi I was wondering do you know if I get my LVN at American career college can I still bridge at a community college ? I only need 4 more classes to apply to an RN program . The reason why I’m going the private school route is because I work full time abs I have a state job great benifits with an ok salary well actually no not that great salary ) but I have mortgage abs a young daughter so I don’t want to leave my state job . My goal is to get my license with a part time evening LVN program at ACC. And then work in home health and bridge to an RN program …. I wish I could do it the more affordable route like you did but my circumstances are different . I’m just wondering if I would still be able to bridge at a CC
