Miami Boat Launch Fail - Nearly Sinks Rented UHaul Truck - Haulover Boat Ramp - New Captain

A captain nearly sunk a UHaul truck launching his new boat at Haulover Boat Ramp in Miami, Florida on July 16, 2023. Captain backed the boat trailer way too deep into the water before loosening straps to allow the boat to float off the trailer. As a result, the rented UHaul truck bed and cabin filled with water, and the driver struggled to pull the truck up the ramp. Meanwhile, Miami Dade Fire Rescue in the adjacent boat slip, refused to offer assistance. They simply stated, "That's not us", indicating that Fire Rescue is not obliged to assist with such emergencies...though they were observed pulling a jetski out of the water with their large Miami Dade Fire Rescue truck. The boat was eventually freed from the trailer, and the UHaul truck amazingly was able to drive out of the deep water. Although, this first time boater left the boat lazily tied to the dock with only one line from the bow. At least they seem to have had their drain plug in the boat during launch!

Like new low mileage rental all maintenance done regularly the cab has that nice fresh dead fish smell
