  • It's time to update the entry stairs to our Newmar Dutch Star motorhome. If I had known how nice this project would turn out, I would have done it a long time ago! Other than the gooey mess when dealing with the old adhesive, it was a fun project. This is a DIY project that You Can Too tackle.
*Update* After about a year of use, I had a structural issue with the stairs that caused a tread to come loose. I wasn't impressed with the adhesion of the recommended glue shown in the video, so I bought Henrys 440. It was easier to work with and much more economical. You'll need two tubes.

Super nice job, great DIY video. Wish you were in the Mid-Atlantic, I'd be over to pick up that glue and notched tool to do my '05 Mountain Aire I just bought a few months ago. Thanks!

Soon I'll be dropping a video that's 100% Phil. He'll be troubleshooting and repairing his Norcold icemaker.

Looks great, something you’d see in a Monaco.

Thank you for the carpet tip. You were right, we did track it down it is mohawk. Follow up question if you don't mind. How's the carpet holding up from the rollers of the slide out? We want to get the same carpet and the color is called Carmelita

Certainly, the rollers create dents in the carpet, but no wear or tearing. Happy motoring.

Is that carpet from factory or did you redo it? Do you recall what pattern and color it is?

We replaced the carpet throughout the coach. I'm sorry but I don't recall anything other than it was by Mohawk and maybe "mushroom" as of the color description. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately the adhesive and knife are gone. In the description of the video I posted a link to another adhesive that I used for a repair. It's much less expensive and is easier to use. Good luck with your project.
