- Hadn't video'd this song since I learned the song back in 2015. Subtle changes to this version, cut out one of the verses to shorten the song a bit, but left the solo's in tact. Played the small licks between the lyrics a little smoother, speed up the tempo from the first video, but still using a PICK and hybrid pickin' with my middle finger allows me to play the fast licks. I made this backing track back in 2015 on my sequencing keyboard. Drums, Bass, and piano doing the rhythm part. I built this Telemaster from scratch out of a piece of pine. Super light weight and sustains great. I have just a fender vintage noiseless in the bridge and a Bill Lawrence noiseless in the neck. I'm playing direct to the mixer with a Line 6 Pod XT Live pedal from 2003. Hopefully this version is a bit smoother and polished than the first video I posted of this song.

jay what tuning do you usually use?
the guitar I'm using in this video is standard tuning. When I gig, I take 2 guitars. One is in standard pitch and the other is tuned down a whole step (2 notes down).

I just don't see why you had cut out "then crowd of the young boys..." verse. What was the point of shortening the song?? Were you in a hurry to go somewhere or something?? Cause we (the audience) most certainly aren't (when sultans of swing is playing).
Sorry, I went with the analytics of playing this song on my gigs for 8 years and the views on youtube where most people were more interested in the 2 main solos. They skip ahead to hear the solos. This is the version I now play on my gigs. Nobody complains. Thanks for watching!
