Trump's Lawyer Says Assassination of Political Rivals is a Protected 'Official Act'

- Based on yesterday’s oral arguments before the Supreme Court, several of SCOTUS’ MAGA justices seem poised to undercut or further delay the DOJ’s criminal prosecution of Donald Trump for his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election and subvert democracy in the days leading up to January 6, 2021.
The hearing largely centered around the concept of presidential immunity, and how bound a POTUS needs to be by the rule of law. One of the most eye-opening moments of the proceedings came when liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor asked Trump’s legal counsel if a president could hypothetically assassinate a political rival with no legal repercussions.

Once again; if anyone should be held to the highest levels of integrity, ethics, and an abiding respect for the law, the Constitution, and the betterment of the citizenry; it should be the freaking President of the United States. Not 'King', not 'Emperor', not 'Dear Leader': but, America's President. That this apparently needs to be debated, is a sad and deeply unfortunate commentary on current events.
That's what a dictator does and is so stoolpid. I'm just so amazed at the thought pattern of this lawyer.

Example: President Biden gets strongly vetted proof that RFK has plotted to carry out a v■olent t■rror attack on Air Force One and is actively working out the plot, Biden could have RFK intercepted and k■lled (a.k.a. ass■ssinated).
In this case, it would be obvious (if the proof against RFK was made public without delay) that Biden was taking legitimate actions as a president even though it resulted in his rival's d■ath.
So long as it can be proven that the president was acting within his duty and responsibilities and not for personal gain, he gets immunity.
It's very, very simple.

This allows the president to act boldly without having to worry about being tied up in an endless stream of court cases because of charges from D.A.s from the opposing party (which is *_exactly_* what is happening now).

He answered correctly -- there are certain hypothetical situations in which a president can order the assassination of a political rival and it still be rightfully considered within his presidential duties/actions.
Sotomayor interrupted him and tried to shove words in his mouth and then asked him a question as if those were the words he said.

This clip says more about how much of an activist she is, than what kind of lawyers Trump's team has.
