  • The SwitchBot Keypad is a great addition to the SwitchBot Smart Lock. With passcode and NFC unlock in the standard model, as well as a fingerprint reader in the Keypad touch model, you'll have plenty of ways to quickly and easily unlock the SwitchBot Lock.

Hi, can you use this keypad to trigger a scene in the switchbot app? Say i want my pan tilt camera to be in provacy mode can i use this?

Great question! As of right now, the keypad cannot be used within scenes only the lock. I'd love to see the ability to trigger scenes based on which passcode / nfc card / fingerprint is used.
With the switchbot lock you can use the following as scene triggers: Locked, Unlocked, Door was Closed, Door was Opened. You could set the privacy mode based on if the lock is unlocked or locked, but unless you leave the door unlocked when you're home I don't think that is going to work for you.
What might work better for you if you are only in the switchbot ecosystem is getting a switchbot contact sensor ( amzn.to/3yGlNDj ). This has a "exit" and "enter" function that could be used to trigger the privacy mode for your camera.

I reviewed this too and I was able to trigger an action (turn on lights when dark outside using a light sensor as well) whenever I unlocked my door! Very nice at night.

great tip on the cards! have you tried adding your MIFARE cards to Google wallet? been on the hunt for a smart lock that can use a non-bluetooth method of unlocking :)

I don't see a possible way to add them into Google wallet, if you have instructions on how to add ill be glad to try it out

Hey quick question. How would I add these keys to my switchbot lock? 🤔 Would I need any cloning hardware or is it the same process as adding their official key card?
