Every episode just adds to the story, it gets better and better
Yea im gonna be bummed when its over. Especially knowing there's no season 2 coming.
@@JeremyIceAndFire33 I’d be down for book 2 to be done by this same team in charge. Even though I know it’ll be a different cast of characters
@crazymad6247 yea I'd def watch another adaptation of Clavell's work
A great back-story & stage-setting episode. These characters are so rich & detailed, I can't get enough!
Same, i don't even recognize the lack of big action scenes simply due to the plot & characters being more than engaging enough.
Just give Shogun all the awards that mean anything at the end.
The Naginata had the nickname "The Womans Spear". Because when the Samurai went off to war sometimes they would leave weapons behind they didn't need or didn't want to carry with them. So when the village was attacked the Women who stayed behind would take their husbands weapons to defend the village, often being the Naginata. So it wasn't a weapon of choice for women but more of a weapon of necessity.
Just gonna say this, the beheadings that Kuroda was performing were of Pure Land Buddhist Monks, Akechi, Toronaga, and The Taiko were all Pure Land Buddhist
Lady Kiku is quite the astute courtesan. She picked up on the tension between Mariko and Blackthorne. That scene was a simmering pot of sexual tension that teetered on the edge of exploding. It was well done and exceptionally performed. I found the back stories quite compelling.
Yea good point, that was an interesting scene & yea Kiku totally picked up on the tension in the room & handled it quite well.
Thank you Jeremy, great review. Yes, my biggest pet peeve is Mariko adding her own spin when translating. Toranaga has warned her about this. Look lady if we want your opinion we will give it to you. 😡🤬"Maybe Buntaro can help her understand this!" 😂🤣😅☹
Lol 😆
I think that’s a major angle of the show that she’s not translating exactly what he’s saying
I think that will pay off so I’m actually very interested in the moments that she stretches the translation
The end of the realm line in the episode reminded me of something that would come out of an episode of game of thrones. Even when Toranaga says to his men that he desired no land. wanted no honors. But if traitors put Taikō’s heir in danger, then he would defend him. Crimson Sky would be going down. Also this was a bad week for Mariko it seems, and viewers in a way get a look at her true intentions as well . A lot of thoughts on this episode, but I honestly Can’t wait for the next episode.
Yea i can't wait to see Crimson Sky in effect!
@@JeremyIceAndFire33 crimson sky I hope is an epic battle cause for sure next week a battle is going down
I would just comment by saying : haii haii Hoooooo
Haii Haii Hooooo
