I'm telling ya , if we had jota the last couple of weeks we would be having a differnt conversation, so disappointing seeing such good footballers playing poorly
True that but the sad reality is that he is very injury prone player.
@lacipeter6934 that's true at the same time man
Jota only turns up sometimes and mostly when we're already winning the game. need to get rid of the donkey Nunez and Diaz and sign a proven goalscorer
@zes3542 we where already winning the game at united , We where already winning the game at palace. Do you not think Jota would have put in some better performances and got a few nail in the coffin goals and closed teams off.
@@davidsmyth4645 don't get me wrong I love jota and would easily start him over Nunez but we need someone who will start every game. Jota is injury prone which is sad that's why we need a guy like isak with legs who can bail us out of tight games (like when Mane or Bobby scored when Mo was having a bad game).
I've been defending Nunez for almost the entirety of his time here. And I do believe he has some incredible qualities, but he's not a center forward. His finishing is rushed and seemingly random. You cannot be an elite striker and not aim. Same goes for his positioning. I cannot believe how many time's he's caught offside.
I'm not saying sell him, but going into the new season with him as the primary no.9 would show a lack of ambition imo.
He would be an elite sub in most big clubs, like Alvarez
@@joaomarcos2089 I'm ok with him being a rotation player with Jota and Gakpo. This bench shows ambition.
I just don't think a club challenging for major trophies can rely on him.
150 million for an attacker that cant score and a rotation option
Iâm noticing a pattern here. In Jurgen Klopps system at Liverpool notice the attackers that seem to work are your nimble technical forwards like Jota Mane Salah Firmino. The last real number 9 Klopp had in his system was Divock Origi an out and out striker. Nunez plays similar positions. Origi and Nunez are tall traditional CF who like to play off the shoulder. Origi performed miracles but off the bench Nunez scored wonder goals against Newcastle off the bench. I hate to say it but I dont think these out and out strikers work in Klopps system. Put Nunez upfront for a team like Newcastle who play with traditional CF and watch him score goals. I also believe Nunez doesnât work in a front 3. He is a CF that likes to occupy the whole forward area so he can make runs. I believe Diaz and Salah are taking up that space and its putting Nunez off his game adding pressure every chance he gets. I could be wrong but thats just my take and it begs to ask why those 3 together donât seem to work.
@@NUFCOfficial well it is what it is. That's the best we're going to get now.
If Darwin improves as much as he did compared to last season he will be unstoppable. A little bit more relaxed in front of goal and we will make at least 10 more goals. Liverpool would still be on top of the table if each forward scored ONE more goal. Let's keep supporting this beautiful club no matter what and let's hope the internal issues are solved by the end of this season because Jurgen does not deserve such bitter farewell. I hope Mo stepped up and sorted out their problems. YNWA.
Why is no one talking about the defence and how many goals we have conceded? I barely remember the last clean sheet we kept. We scored two goals the last game, that should be enough to win any game.
Agree with you
Nunez does not think about his shots. He is all instinct and hope.if he placed his shots he would score more goals.
Interesting, in my opinion I would say the opposite, in that he thinks too much in front of goal instead of just going off instinct
Heâs Micheal Owen he would
Not trying to defend Darwin but the supply from midfield has been borderline poor at times. Even though Macca and Szobo have shown their brilliance at times, there performances have been up and down.
if you take salah pens off nunes has scored more
What are you talking about, this year our goals have been coming from midfielders and the kids. Darwin has has score 9 out of 32 big chances. How much more supply do you want him to have. Darwin and Salah have not scored any one on ones this year... what's wrong with you fans.
@@Sobbayi you have to learn how read and gather what was said man. Iâm not defending Darwin at all, he has to improve. Now, I will say when Iâve watched Macca and Szobo even when they play well they are inconsistent and when the pass is clear and obvious they donât make it. Iâve seen similar comments to mine on various Liverpool fan channels saying the same thing. Youâre opinion is different than mine and that does not make me any less of a fan than you.
@@Sobbayinot defending Darwin or Mo but that observation is just wrong. both have scored 1 on 1 chances this season
@@brianburns9190Nunez would miss the pens tho if he was the pen taker

I don't go with all this xG BS it's either you score or you don't..
literally shocked at how our fans want Nunez who cost us another league title to stay over our best player in Mo. Unbelievable mental gymnastics from Liverpool fans
It's only bs until you understand it
đźâ@@donvaskez416
Szobo has been horrific since he came back from injury
Hope Iâm wrong (if they decide to keep Nunez) but I just donât see him improving that much to justify another couple of years waiting. Could sell, and re invest the money on someone with better clinical finishing stats out there whoever they are
I agree: Don't sell Darwin! Why not let Ian Rush come in and give his advice how the forwards should act and position themself in the box. The goalkeepers have several goalkeeper coaches. So why not have a specific forward coach. When it comes to Darwin it's minor adjustment needed. He is so close to scoring lots of goals.
I don't think Nunez don't know how to position himself in the box.
He just has to adjust his foot to find the net.
How many Non-big chances has Nunez scored. How many has he just pulled out from nowhere? who decides which is which?
Our build up play has stagnated... we are too slow and are pretty poor going from defence through the midfield and into attack... especially with some pace and quick 1 and 2 touch passes. We allow the opposition to just get back and face us up and we then just play across. Tonnes of cut backs and not many crosses coming in early or near the by line. The forwards are either really wide, cutting back etc.
All of that leaves a centre forward kinda stuck as to whether to make a run, drop back to receive or stick. Add to that that we keep conceding and having to come from a losing position there is a lot of desperation and tension in our play and when it comes to shooting there are a lot of miss hit shots and hit as hard as you can and hope type of shot. We hit defenders so often or just blaze high and wide. our shots had to shots on target is dreadful. The composure has gone.... and it's through the team, not just 1 player.
If you take in to account Nunez has hit the woodwork 9 times, 4 in one game. Then he has actually been unlucky which brings his miss numbers down to 17. With his excellent number of assists also, for me he must have another season.
He has missed some shockers, Luton Town, Everton, Crystal Palace. All in 6 yard area.
Our forwards no longer give the opposition sleepless nights like Mane, Firmino and Salah did previously. A lot is spoken about the current forward's missed chances. That something needs to change is a no brainer.
Its not only atack have been miss chances the defence have been bad to.
The problem for me with Liverpool is the lateral defenses, they do not cover the rivals, and in the midfield there are no players who generate surprise passes to attack, Diaz often has to play midfield and open the field and this causes the forwards have to go down and lose the surprise to attack, which leads to depending on the individuality of the forwards, called Diaz, Salah, Nuñez, Jotta, Gakpo, and the other problem is that some forwards do not share the ball with other teammates , they are very selfish, in order to define and they miss the chances to score.
I would give Darwin another year also. I think he needs a psychology his situation is more mental to me, not physical.
Yes Darwin is growing, yes he's improving, but, his many misses proved very very costly for us. We were alright with Jota coming into the team but injuries halted his impact.
In past seasons, when Salah was underperforming, Mane and Bobby stepped up. This season, we didn't have that and it proved costly.
What I can take away is that, even with the attack coming short this season, we are still going to finish 3rd this season. That's the only positive I can take.
YNWA
I believe Edwards and slot will sign good players for us
Possibly, but FSG will give them a budget of five quid and a packet of Woodbines
Darwin frightens other teams defences
Ok, Craig.. I'm going with you. One more season to evaluate Nuñez's performance. That seems fair. Though I feel we should sell Salah while there's money to be made, and bring in other potential world class strikers. Doesn't look like many more distance can be covered by those tired legs of his
Nunez should take the origi roll as impact sub and we should go and get someone clinical. Imagine we signed harry kane and not Darwin? We would have won multiple trophies this season. Sign gyokeres asap
Harry Kane could already do the linking up role Bobby did and scores at a greater rate and volume to all our forwards bar maybe Salah.
You could say that for every club. Kane improves any team. The problem is that there not many kanes around. The lack of talent is stark in a time where there has never been more money in the game.
Even gyokeres isn't enough there are more matured players out there
@@redmed10 he would of been perfect Bobby replacement a 100m well spent by Liverpool.
@@abonikekupya8210 osimhen from Napoli
although the front three not converting their chances is a big problem the main problem is our defence which is shokingly bad! school boy defending has cost us in all the games this season, that unfortunately is the main problem when we were great is when our defence would snuff out the opposition and hit them on the counter attack!
Darwin is not a "Finisher"
His kind of striker is one that scores not a lot of goals but always impacts the match. He presses, tracks back, doesn't play on the shoulder of the last defense but rather creates chances. Wanna see something crazy? Pair Nunez and Jota up front and see some magic.
Give Nunez a chance by A.Slot, maybe he can make Nunez up to 50 % scoring or even higher.
Next year will the pressure to score and replace Sane and Formino less than now and maybe they score more.
I really
Donât think Darwin Nunez will stop making mistakes . He needs be a winger and just score when he wants not when he needs to .
It's an attacking tactic, as far as I see. It's the same routine over and over and clubs have found the effective defences.
We need a goal scorer for luiz Diaz and Nunez because I am disappointed with the goal conversion rate of both of the players đąđąđąđąđąđąđąđąđąđąđąđąđąđą
What article is referenced here?
Salah is the finished article,Nunez isnt..Nunez needs time to improve. And i think he will...
Darwin has raw talent and can be given another shot since it's a new manager and hopefully system. But if we keep all 5 attackers, we aren't bringing another in and I think our current 5 are a mismatch to most 3 attacker systems. It's not balanced.
Keep Nunez he will shine in a new system. Benfica and Uruguay played/play a 4-4-2 with Nunez, he struggles as the main striker in a 4-3-3, and possession football. He is far better with quick attacks and running at defences.
Agree Nunez is worth the effort. Jota is a finisher and we have missed him big time. With trent no longer playing the same roll , why are we surprised Mo is'nt getting the ball in or near the box? Looking forward to the changes coming.
If all of our forwards are struggling does it not point to the tactics rather than the players?
Hmmm bringing Mo in closer will just allow defenses to block him more easily. He can't beat a man. really hope Edwards can get a decent price for him.
Expect it to be evolution rather than revolution under Slot. Most of the current players will be given a chance to impress him.
I blame everyone!
Craig thank you for the statistics and information
I totally agree, Darwin must have another year. there is a goal monster stuck in there
stop defending that donkey he's literally cost us the league
In April, Harry Maguire has the same amount of goals as Salah, Darwin, and Diaz.
If Darwin aims for a goal per two games I believe he will be a superstar next season , I feel he is trying to score two goals a game to prove himself and slashing at chances
see, that was Klopp's first mistake with Nunez. If he was brought in to be a striker, you already failed the man from the start, because he's not a striker, he will never be. I'll gladly eat those words if he starts scoring 20+ goals next season if he stays, but I don't think I'm wrong.
Unload this summer and use the money to buy somebody who knows how to score consistently and also contribute creatively.
Once a few start missing big chances in games then the pressure builds throughout the game. Other players start snatching at shots and losing the cool head required to take big chances v
This problem and + some var decisions big ones city tottenham no penalty again for a handball with arsenal again gakpo with westham thats why we struggle 2 of the decision directly against the title contenders... Hope for the next season
I think Mo could flourish up front rather than out wide, bring a young pacey winger in to fill that position and our options in attack is frightening. There's something special about Darwin we just need to find the key to unlock it
I think nunez will get better as he matures, he's like flustered, frustrated, trying too hard, thinking too much idk but something not clicking with his finishing, he needs to chill, relax slot those shots instead of hit and hope.
Nunes needs a spanish speaking coach who can guide him correctly.
Sometimes, I can just tell he doesn't understatement Klopp's instructions before entering the pitch.
Nunez will be amazing just stick with him like you said his missed all the chances next season he could score all of them then he gets 30+ goals a season
I love Darwin, but how has not one coach heâs had never told him to fuckin relax and shoot low corner
Fans just won`t learn. Nunez biggest problem is his lack of general ability with the ball. Something, which certainly has a significant genetic component. Otherwise anyone, with the right mindset & athletic requirements could potentially become a pro footballer. His attitude, athletic abilities & arguably his positioning are top notch. But within 2 years at the club & at the age of 25 now, he has not improved his technique at all. He can not properly control a ball in time. His dribbling is poor, so he relies on speed only here. Due to this lack of ability, his shots on target are, more or less, randomly positioned- which obviously leads to his horrible conversion rate.
Still, he should get a chance under Arne slot, however it is very hard to teach someone this stuff, considering he hasn`t got the innate talent.
Keep the team as is and Slot will bring in a few new signings .. sorted.
Hey you big beautiful man have you heard about the premiere league moving to the USA and have you heard about the spending cap NBC are pushing for it to happen great content as usual
I'm with you give darwin another year
I agree totally with you that this data and xg is so much rubbish. Football is simple but looking at some stuff that's written reminds me of a maths formula. Like you say either you hit the back of the net or you dont
They say others need osimheim but I say we need him the most. Bring a new RW and give him time to adapt if we do indeed keep MO. LW is packed amd a CB of branwaithe quality will go a long way to compete konate and quansah
None of the forwards are what I'd call a striker - a clinical finisher whose sole focus is scoring goals. Nunez is the closest and he's a long way from clinical. Nor does Liverpool have a real attacking midfielder like Foden of KDB. Nor a real number 10. If Slot plays 4-2-3-1 and wants to emulate Guardiola he's going to need all those. I think Salah could slot into that system (no pun intended) but I see no room for Nunez and maybe not some others.
I donât agree with people wanting to get rid of Darwin. Heâs made such an improvement over last year and he still has a long way to go to improve his game, and also heâs very young. He also has the same goal contributions as Vinicius who is considered one of the best players in the world. Trust in him even if he makes us mad sometimes in games
Are you for real? Risk another season ending like this? You are a very optimistic person sir i envy youđ
Now it depends on ed
@@lacipeter6934 why are we putting most of the blame on Darwin, yes heâs missed a lot of chances but the others have missed chances too. We also have Gakpo Salah Jota and Diaz behind him with Jayden Danns following suit. So many options so if he doesnât play well we can put others in his position. I also believe that 31 g/a this season from Darwin is great from the 19 he had last year
Nunez has missed the most we would have gotten so many more if he didnt miss that manyâ@@mikesports4185
Comparing vinicius with darwin is just ridiculous.
Nunez has been at the club since 2022 and has not improved his goal scoring. Granted he does other things on the pitch but we need a player who is going to convert most of his chances. I like Nunez but i just dont think he has that goal scoring consistency that a club like Liverpool need.
Nunez just needs to breathe, slow everything down in his head. Pass the ball into the net. Up to now heâs a complete maverick, wild horse, puts his laces through it every time. If he manages to slow the snatched shots down. He could be no 1 in the world.
His team avoids passing the ball to him on many occasions, losing unforgivable scoring opportunities.
Liverpool needs quality players in defense and midfield. Is it so difficult to acquire elite players?
Need an improvement, just buy players who are worth it ;)
Man U fans love Nunez.
They would love CL Footballđđ
Paying 85mil to give another year, give me then.... I can run for 10 years... While Nunez continues to depreciate with opportunity cost
If Mo Salah was having the kind of hurrendous performances wasting chances in his 2nd season at the club he would have been sold immediately. I don't see why give Nunez a deplomatic immunity while giving Salah a Spanish inquisition. Nunez is not even impacting in the chance creating department something that Salah does even if he's not scoring in all those lost games there were brilliance passes by Mo to Darwin or to Szobo to kill the game but they failed horribly but ofcourse we will erase that and only mention Salah. Jota should be the starter next year if he's fit which is never been the case then you will have to endure the Darwin chaos
Maybe Darwin should try to miss the goalposts....that could work !! đđ€Ł...by the way I am a Liverpool supporter YNWA
1 more year minimum for nunez ? I'd say 1 more year maximum....
What about selling Jota?
Nunez creates a ridiculous amount of chances....keep Nunez, work on the conversion percentage. It is much easier to convert guaranteed chances than it is to create them in the first place....to remove Nunez is crazy !!!!
He Is Just cursed
Get Darwin an appointment at specsavers
Come the new season which ever player still in the Liverpool squad, must get their acts together and start performing n playing for their shirts that they have on. Talk , talk , talk nothing much been happening.
As we know they need a win in the remaining three games to qualify for champions League.
Everyone saying salahs gone crap yeh maybe heâs had a dip in games but heâs still the top scorer and what about the others fowards Nunez and jota gakpo need to chip in he canât do it his self mo
Darwin bring more passion on the celebration more than the actual game, fcking 10 years old pretty boy
How many goals would Mane have scored scored since he left?
Sign natural finishers like Isak
Nunez on the left, Diaz on the right, Salah through the middle
If klopp cant get the best out of darwin nunez then no other manager will
Nunez just shoots and hope for the best. He is a winger and not a centre forward.
Yeah, Nunez, haven't missed all those missed chances, we would been in a better position now. Hey, who said scoring goals is that easy. Luck plays big roll. NI think, next season, Nunez, will prove us wrong. It is new coach, and new era. YNWA
cant bring urself to say sell nunez but have no issues saying sell salah when hes the sole reason for any succes weve had in the last 7 years. this team would be absolutely finished without him.
Liverpool have had a finishing problem for a few years now but can't keep blaming Darwin what about the amount of chances Salah has and misses
Remind us how many times we've gone behind in the league? It's not just about the forwards.
The strategy for years was to score more than is conceded, it doesnât work with a has-been and with a headless chicken being robotically selected in the front row by a disinterested and distracted manager.
Nunez, salah, dias, kanoude and virgil these players don't perform, virgil is too slow at the defence
When you get to 31 years old in football ur legs start going
if just a few of those chances went in, we'd probably be champions right now
M thinking about chargesđ
On Nunez, he just donât seem to learn. Too many missed chances, and too many offsides
Manie firmino salah were unbelievable so the othere two are not good enough with salah
I reckon it's more simple...
Darwin isn't very good; and Salah has ideas above his station.
Keep him one more year, give him a last chance. If he scores less than 25 or underperforms his xG sell
If we keep Salah we need to play him as a 10.
Where would you put Klopp in a list of the greatest Premier League managers? 5th or 6th? I think probably 6th.
3rd.
Behind Fergie and Pep but not Jose?
Remember Salah stayed because he was sorry we didnt make champ league this year & wanted to get us back there before he left. Klopp also brought in a whole new midfield & the few older mids were mostly out all season like Thiago & Stefan. I dont think the club were expecting a title this year & if not for VAR the title would be ours already. YNWA97
The thing about xG is, it's fairy dust.
I'd bet Bobby Firmino has more no look goals than Darwin does eyes wide open.
Get Robbie fowler in to coach darwin
Salah has always missed chances but still scored regularly , Diaz is never going to score 20 a season but creates chances , Nunez was brought in to score goals and consistently misses many chances created by Liverpools attack minded play . Nunez is not a natural goal scorer and if he was we would have won the title weeks ago ...Loyalty , misguided or otherwise has a habit of coming back to bite you .............
But but he creates chaos
Pay them less but with goal bonuses! đ€đ every game will be at least 5 goals đđ€
If you're going to extend with more money on salah its going to be the downfall of lfc
Trent is not and will never be a defender
