    Pro tip: if you want tens of thousands of ferrite dust and carbon in a few minutes, find one of those wierd planets with no trees and tons of rocks and use your starship weapons, preferably the positron or infra-knife and just blast the surface. Go slow so the resources have time to render in and just shoot. You'll end up with massive amounts of ferrite and maybe carbon depending on the planet in just a few minutes. Super nice for massive alloy structures!

    Just want to add a few things to what you said.
    1. You can craft as many of the items as you have resources available. It doesn't stop at a stack 👍
    2. You get a new freighter fight every 3 active hours of gameplay and after 5 warps. The first freighter should almost always be skipped, and if you save before warping you can warp to different systems to look for a better design (if this is confusing please ask and I can try to elaborate 😁) also, you don't have to fight the ships during a freighter battle. You can just fly into the freighter and talk to the captain.
    3. If you do stumble across some curious deposits, you can set up a base there with a teleporter or save beacon. Then anytime you load at that base the deposits respawn, making for easy nanites.
    4. Jetpack fuel only lasts longer in superheated storms. Other storms do different things (ex: cold storms let your multitool take longer to overheat)
    5. Using your ship to farm is fantastic, but make sure you scan the materials before you shoot them so you unlock the alternate resource it offers.
    Hope these help and happy travels!

      I know this has no bearing on the freighter, but I always try to get a Gek crew. Sure, each new system loads up the major race onto your freighter as mundane crew, I just feel better when my ship is in the hands the former tyrants of the Galaxy. The Vykeen are a little too battle seeking, and the Korvax are too cold.

      catalog search does not work on some items, If it is not craftable like a Storm Crystal, you won't be able to "pin" it. I know that doesn't follow the logic of pinning a material like cadmium. When you resize your terrain manipulator terra formin features you can see the ball size change before you pull the trigger. When mining, you don't see that unless you are actively mining. I missed how to resize for many game hours until I figured it out! I enjoy everyones input! Brainstorming sessions here!

    Another really fast way to make units is to take advantage of the economies of various systems. Make a storage container and put the manufactured goods in it in your freighter. Once youve got a bunch just hop from system to system and sell super expensive while buying really cheap. Of course theres the frigate expeditions and those are really fast too but just another method in case youre interested.

  • @michaelbrooks7214
    @michaelbrooks7214 Před rokem +4

    Yup, I have almost 2000 hrs , according to Steam, in the game. Most of that is from restarts. I have never been over 200 hours in any single save yet! I just discovered how to make multiple items. Duh. It was , as you said, not intuitive. But I stumbled across it by accident just a few days ago! Also, this is more a stategy thing but. When using my scanner looking for a place to set up to mine resources, I would use a save point and come back to it. I have a basic base build just for resources. Early game I usually run out of something while building and have to stop and go get some. It was a PITA to leave and come back to a save point when all I had to do was put down a base computer. You can warp to a bare base computer. You can't warp away without building a gate but you can warp to it. That was much easier than looking for a save point! I have 5 bases right now that are just base computers with the bases named for the resources. I'll come back to them later on and develope them. All the warp gates keep a convinient list for me. I also learned that systems a Nexus mission takes you to are accessible later on as long as you stopped at the space station. Nexus doesn't care what kind of warp drives you have installed! A mission takes you there! I jumped to a blue star and a green star system doing that and I do not have the apropriate warp drives installed yet. No room in my ship! They were on my long list of places discovered. I tried to warp to them looking for multi tools and upgrades. Worked! Yup, lots of things to do and discover in this game. I can see though how a person without CZcams access would get tired of this game quickly. Folks like you who provide these videos have made it interesting enough for me to keep playing! Thanks!

    • @BunkzGaming
      @BunkzGaming  Před rokem +1

      I have a similar thing with bases but they're in different galaxies. Nothing more than a base computer and it's named after the galaxy it's in. As for the warp drive and Nexus missions that's a new one to me, very nice spot! Never knew about that one. Thanks for that, and thanks for the support 😁

    • @michaelbrooks7214
      @michaelbrooks7214 Před rokem

      To clarify, I did not jump directly to the blue and green systems. I had to use the space station warp gate, not my ship. I do not play multi player so I often wondered where the extra systems I have never been to come from. Some of those Nexus system and planets have player bases set up all over them! Lots of this info becomes obsolete the further you go in a save but, it sure is nice to know when you are getting started. I looked for a pyrite base yesterday and it reminded me of farming for an S class freighter. I kept coming up empty handed, must have stopped and searched 20 or more locations before I finally shut the game down and restarted. About 4 more tries and I found it! Prospecting. Sheesh! I have all my plants growing all my resoures being mined, At about 60 hours into this save. Now I'm ready to craft some high dollar items to sell and go look for a decent freighter! I play on PC and Steam with an XBox controller. What I want to know is how to use the "Auto Follow" in ship to ship combat encounters. My set up indicates I can turn auto follow on or off, but doesn't say which buttons to push. I can't figure it out. Not sure if its me being old and stupid or the feature doesn't work. You know anything about it?

    • @michaelbrooks7214
      @michaelbrooks7214 Před rokem

      That makes a bunch of sense! The first portal I ever discovered, I built a small base with a jumpgate. I knew it would be important and my gate list kept track of it for me. I like your use for jumping between galaxies. Guess we can use it for all sorts of things!

    On portal glyphs, it's faster to do the Atlas quest line first. That way, you'll get all 16, and some milestones that you'd normally get through normal gameplay. Things like scanning all the animals on a planet, learning words by talking to virtually everything you can, surviving on a hostile planet, or an environmentally challenged planet. Any milestone will advance the total milestones needed for the Atlas quest, and they're faster than trying to find the Travelers. Alternatively, it's not just space stations where Travelers are. It's rare, but sometimes, you can find them at a Trade Terminal.
    When you start a game, the best thing you can do is put about 1,000u between you and your ship, and move around it in what would amount to be a 'circle'. You can gather all kinds of resources, and potentially find other things, like a Transmission Tower, Minor Settlement, or other useful building. In one of them, you could sell some of the resources you've collected, and buy a Hermetic Seal, and in the case of the Minor Settlement, if you've collected some nanites, you could buy upgrades to your scanner and mining beam. In the other, you'll be led to a crashed ship that you can scrap for cash and upgrades to your own ship. I suggest you get to your ship first, though. You wouldn't want to walk halfway around a planet for a busted ship. Once you have the Hermetic Seal, go to your ship, but do not get into your ship. Repair it from outside. When you get into your ship, it'll skip the part where you have to go find a Hermetic Seal, tell you that the ship is repaired and ready to go, and allow you to get off the planet a little faster.
    Another building you might find useful is a Manufacturing Facility. Break in, and you'll set off a sentinel response, but they rarely attack you, or even see you inside the building. Solve the riddle properly, and you'll get one Factory token that you can use to learn how to make a Microprocessor (which you'll need later on anyway, but will be forced to buy).

    actually.. the real freighter tip.. when you warp into a system and its a battle.. fight off the pirates (because its loot, and reputation gains), land ON the freighter, jump out and scan it.. (it doesnt count as a save for some reason)..
    if its not the class you want.. RELOAD THE SAVE... enter the system and repeat..
    and lastly.. get one glyph... enter that ONE glyph into a portal.. it will warp you to a system that is RIGHT next (literally) to the center of the galaxy.. when youre ready to warp to it, go into your galaxy map, wait a second or 3 and you will see a small white circle (youll know) that you can click-hold annnnnd Milestone complete..

    Seems like every game likes to crack down on any method that produces good income for the player. I think their biggest fear is people getting all that in game currency, buying everything they want and then quitting before they’ve spent hours upon days grinding.

      @@BunkzGaming it happened several times. Not like way out into space but caves weren’t safe during the wind. It would toss you around wherever you were and if you’re too close to an opening- poof. Game description says Frozen Hell. Mountains too steep to climb, nowhere to land, worm nests everywhere, blizzard every few seconds and the “wind event”. It was fun but I almost lost the game a bunch of times 😅

    1. If you are mining resource deposits. Dig from underneath to avoid sentinels.
    2. Sentinels don't attack if you are inside your base.
    3. Whenever you go to a space station, always check for kill animals/ sentinels missions. They are not specific to location and you can do them at the same time.

    You have a way of talking that sounds like you've been asked to explain something once again, for the hundredth time, to a group of people. I you're hoping to get more viewers you might want to sound like you're actually talking to an individual , with some enthusiasm. The internet might seem like a mass of people to you, but actually when a person is watching your videos it is just one person. It's not just about the content.
