- Exocraft in No Man's Sky are great ways of exploring the planets surface both on the land and underwater. There are currently 6 different types of exocraft you can acquire in the game as of the latest Interceptor and Singularity updates.
With that, I've decided to go over everything you need to know about all kinds of exocraft in the game and which exocraft may be the best for your specific play style.
I'll also be talking about exocraft upgrades and what else they can offer you besides just exploration, spoiler alert, they can offer you a lot!!
Thanks for watching!

I cannot stress enough how useful the freighter exocraft station is
it would be really cool if we had a flying exocraft for in the beginning or just one to have for only exploring the planet instead of just using our starship. I also wish they'd make each of them have more of a consistent and specific purpose rather than them just being kinda vaguely the same.
Agree w u 100 ab specific purpose. All you neeed is a sub, Minotaur, and one of the other land movement.
playing this in VR is unreal. I was going all under water in my Sub . just mind blowing.
But i have to say. i think i like just exploring planets on foot. these craft are really not practical on most of the terrain.
Its so full of hills and crags and Rocks and crap. its not a smooth ride at all.
So i just explore in my ship or on foot for the most part. and use my sub
The Nomad makes an excellent dive boat. When you want to explore an ocean with a long stretch of shallow water before the deeper part, the Nomad will take you out quickly. You can return to the Nomad and board it from below when you're done exploring. My only complaint is that even fully tricked out, it's a lot slower than the Roamer.
Wish there was an actual cigarette dive boat and more underwater stuff to interact with. Lots of material for updates.
Brand new in player. This video had a ton of helpful tips! Thanks!
Using my minotaur for hazard protection and extra storage makes nasty planets less of a drag. Likewise, as an autonomous gun platform hunting sentinels and defending my settlement are now chores, not life-threatening events.
It would be nice to have storage expansion. If you can do it to a ship, a freighter, and a multitool, why not an exocraft?
The Minotaur cannon, fully upgraded, is hilarious. Knocking drones over hills never gets old.
The Roamer is still probably my favourite, in terms of versatility. I don't mind the Nautilon as a starter submarine, but agree that it would be great to see a larger submarine option as well -- perhaps one that the Nautilon could even dock inside. The one advantage of the Nautilon is that it works in shallow waters and tight spaces like underwater caverns.
The only additional exocraft option I'd like to see would be a proper flying drone with hover capability -- to make exploring rugged / mountainous planets easier.
Get a mount that flies and manipulate it's genes to be a certain size. Animal companions are faster or slower depending on their size
Check the wiki to be sure but in my experience it's about finding the exact right size for each body type
Dude your videos are amazing I haven’t played in three years and I’m just binging these
Awesome, glad you enjoy them 😁
I hope the Minotaur has a way of gliding. The jump boost is kinda weird.
what starfield should have been
true
NMS is just the better version of Starfield
Lmao. They have the chance to fix the game like hello games has done. They made their money and they're out.
Give them time, its not like Hello Games made game playable in 3 months and it was all good.@@oldmate2563
@@oldmate2563it’s impossible. The fundamentals are to wack. No amount of polish, weapons, new quests , planets . Even vehicles can save it.
Nice!
I think a suborbital exo craft plane or helicopter would be cool.
Pretty sure the Nomad is actually slower than the Roamer
Maybe without upgrades. I prefer the nomad because it can skip over water
That's useful AF and it can get pretty fast after upgrades
How did you get your inventory to have the different pages?
Also great video
I'm still new to the game but the colossus feels like the least useful so far. I get that it's supposed to be for hauling stuff but overall I haven't had a huge need for that. Maybe I'm missing something but usually the distance between mining locations is so great the added speed that other crafts offer is much more useful, I find.
In Survival game mode, your inventory becomes MUCH more limited, as resources stack to 500 and not to 9999, and the developers make stuff with this in mind too. The Colossus is extremely useful in Survival mode, but kinda completely useless on Normal.
The higher the difficulty the less you can stack
It's pretty useless on easy, but on like permadeath it's necessary
They need to go faster. Otherwise they are storage with wheels.
Agreed, would love some really fast on land and on water exocraft
Yeah I thought at least the "motorcycle" one would go fast, but seeing it in the video - it's almost exactly the same base speed as the Roamer.
@@PragmaticTornado it does go faster than in this video when it's upgraded, but not as fast as you may hope sadly
@@PragmaticTornado with upgrades I think the max boost is 46 u/s or something, with 36 being the basic speed.
Beetles and Spaceships are faster tho
@@nickmclean4004 Well it would be absurd for starships to not be faster, and as for beetles, the exploration required to find a good one makes it fairly balanced. I'd say exocraft are pretty good for what they are
Be nice the best bits of Starfield conjoined with the vast technological world in nms
They need to be much faster. To me they’re useless because of how slow they are. I’ll try to get a mod on PC that makes them faster.
They could also add a flying car / helicopter to bridge the gap between slow exocrafts and fast spaceship.
I dont use it because the camera and the driving system don't feel fun to me plus since we got our ship in the beginning they are useless in term of speed. I think in a lot of instance the responsiveness of the control is pretty outdated let's me explain
- In the exocraft the wheels tends to turn way after the camera
- When you shoot the bullet shoot way after we press the trigger same thing when reloading
- Same thing when interacting with objects when your on the object you have to wait after the command to pop up and sometime you missing it and it appears in the corner of your screen which drives me nuts for years
All of this don't append when ship driving
What I don't understand, didnt try yet:
If I build a new bay for a vehicle on another planet, does that spawn in the same vehicle that I already build somewhere else, with it's inventory and upgrades, or is this a different vehicle of the same kind?
Yes it does spawn the same vehicle with the same inventory
I would be happier if we could actually place it in our inventory@@LeftiesHater
Apparently I didn't have to know how to get expansion slots into exocrafts because this video had everything.
You can't add inventory slots to an exocraft. That's why you get the Colossus if you want more space.
Orbital exocraft materializer (OEM), do i need to build the exocraft in every system i visit Or just build it once and i can summon it via the OEM from any system no matter how far as long as my frieghter is in the same system as me? Or am i missing somthing?
Yeah, the latter is right. Just summon the freighter into the system
4:27 "But it is the only two of exocraft in the game"
What? Please if you could speak just a bit slower or more clearly, I often find it difficult to understand what you're saying.
Great and informative videos. Just hard to keep up with the fast speech where words are slurred together.
He meant it’s one of the two light exocraft in the game, not much of an issue tbh given the context clues
0:54 bruh what the “stand by for titanfall”
starfield why why you were supposed to save us why
I don't like any of them now. Devs severely nerfed them so much that they're nigh-useless now.
The Nomad used to be so fast, fun and useful for getting around. Now it just sadly limps around.
I'm thinking of restarting a run to get them out of my inventory.
That's how bad they are.
Min o taur....not mine o taur...
It's mine o taur where I'm from
@@BunkzGaming 🤣🤣🤣
Literally is 5 minute job to get a freighter? Its more like 4 hours, you need to play the game for 4 hours then warp few times to get that freighter! And should you restart the game within that 4 hours you will need to start again! Who the hell has time to play 4 hours non stop these days? Hello should really fix that oversight IMO, along with much needed performance fixes, Code optimization all that jazz!
It's only 4 hours for a capital freighter. You can come across any standard freighter in any system just by flying around, they'll warp into it nearby where you're flying. And it's not restarted if you restart your game.
Just came here to say I've dumped 10 hours in two days with a full time job and my own house. If playing a game is too much for your limited attention span and free time...just go. Some of us would like a grind for things, maybe you should play creative.
You talk too fast, and you mumble, and the accent isn't helping either, it makes you hard to understand at times. Why are you always in a rush?
