  • There are so many midsize SUVs to chose from the category has been split into two- and three-rows. The all-new Honda Passport lands in the two-row segment with room for five passengers. Slotted between the smaller CR-V and larger Pilot, was the Passport a necessary addition? Excellent question, and Micah Muzio from Kelley Blue Book has the answer, as always. He's so reliable.

    Drove my Passport from Ontario Canada to Florida 2 weeks ago. It was fully loaded for my 5 month stay and it performed flawlessly. The lane mitigation becomes a pain with the wheels vibrating so I disarmed it and some of the other safety items can become a nuisance so you can fiddle around with them but this is a great SUV. Glad I bought it.

Smart phones are light years ahead of car sat navs.

    I lost my shit on that existential crisis joke. 10/10 did not expect that from a car reviewer. I'll be buying this vehicle only due to the comedic associations I now have with it...

      Yes, you can have no CC, "regular" CC, or the ACC. He's right, the ACC is kinda jerky, I either turn it off or use the "regular" CC.

    Are any manufacturers still making GDI-only engines? It's a major "feature" when making the buying decision.

    • @user-oq3lv6lv7x
      @user-oq3lv6lv7x Před 5 lety

      avlisk what do you mean? gdi engines are horrible in hyundai’s case. so much carbon build up.

    • @avlisk
      @avlisk Před 5 lety

      @@user-oq3lv6lv7x That's exactly what I mean. I see that many have gone to adding a port injector in addition to the GDI system to fix that issue. (Reference: Scotty Kilmer) But that adds complexity which can be simplified by using just a port injection system. I had the Hyundai GDI and I won't buy another car with that as the sole injection system. Thanks.

      If towing capacity is a consideration when comparing those two go with the passport. The Passport can tow between 3,500 and 5,000 pounds with its V6, while the RDX, like it's CR-V cousin, can only tow 1,500 pounds, with its 4-cylinder turbo. Having driven both of them, I can say the RDX handles better, feels more sporty, and has a cooler sunroof. But the Honda is more practical if you actually plan to take it adventuring, especially with its much larger cargo capacity (almost double that of the RDX).

    • @joethebet7177
      @joethebet7177 Před 5 lety

      guitarsunplugged The passport is more practical. I think it has better infotainment although graphics not so good. RDX despite it’s awful infotainment, for about the same price I might consider it.

    • @jesseweirmalave
      @jesseweirmalave Před 5 lety

      joe TheBet I think you are comparing 2 diff categories. RDX is going to be smaller but sportier (and the new one in Rspec look good!) but if you want practicality with a kind ish luxury interior get a Passport. We have a EX-L and we love it
