Praying….my son and his family live there. He’s a police officer in Hendersonville Tenn he is at work… pray for everyone there.
My prayers to you and your family 🙏🏻
Have u heard anything

No not yet.

Holy crap! That's the first time I've ever seen a massive fireball like that in a tornado!
It struck a utility pole.
Me too !!
@@PatriotGamesROCKS it was a power station with fuel tanks onsite from what I saw
Same here. That's amazing!
It caused the explosion and sucked the fireball straight up. Nature is truly metal.
I witnessed these explosions from less then a mile away. The tornado skipped right over my subdivision.
I grew up in hendersonville. What exploded?
Sooooo..... What exploded?
Hey I live off sanders ferry rd trying to figure out where this is
@@eucliduschaumeau8813 A substation
@@eucliduschaumeau8813 electricity substation from what I've heard.
Australia: We have huntsman spiders
Tennessee: We have flame throwing tornadoes
Doesn't australia have fire devils? Which are literal flaming tornadoes?
@@Shadowtiger2564the US gets those too
I think I read that you have more downbursts than anywere (like a waterfall from the clouds) and more kinds of poisonous snakes. Guess we all have are own types of mother nature. Of course, you have your vegemate(sp).
Why are you watching the weather in the U.S.? You living a double life?
@@Shadowtiger2564 We'll only see that sort of thing under extreme bushfire conditions, where the fire is so fierce that it generates it's own firestorm, which can also include lightning.
Far more dangerous than Huntsman spiders are Funnel-webs - can be deadly if antivenom isn't administered soon after a bite. The Huntsman's bite isn't deadly.
As someone who works for a power cooperative, that looks like a transformer explosion in a substation. They are very large and very flammable.
It was. I saw another video of the destruction, and the path of the tornado went directly through a substation.
Ive been watching tornado footage for decades and I've never seen a explosion inside a tornado before😮 sending my love and prayers from middle Tennessee 🙏
It was a utility pole lol
@@PatriotGamesROCKSso whats so funny about it?
@@PatriotGamesROCKS highly doubt that was from a utility pole. There's nothing funny about it, ppl died in this storm
@@PatriotGamesROCKSyou didn't watch the video did you?
@@PatriotGamesROCKS It was NOT just a utility pole. The blue and green flashes are power flashes. That ball of fire was 300 feet high. It's unprecedented.
This explosion was at the electrical substation beside Lowes in Madison, TN where it has just claimed the lives of 3 people on Nesbit Rd. The same tornado would quickly move on to Hendersonville.
Thanks for identifying the cause of the explosion, you're the first one ive found that have, i thought maybe ithad been a propane storage facility. Yah i imagine them big transformers wud cause such a blast no tellin how many gallons of oil caused it, hopefully pcb's arnt used in the oil now either!
@@edwardherford4629 glad I could help. Sad day.
@@edwardherford4629 Most but not quite all the PCB-laden transformer oil and equipment using it has been replaced by now. However some still exists in some the oldest small transformers serving houses on the phone poles; those usually get replaced only when they die. Too costly for any other approach.
The explosion was crazy! I saw it from my front porch. Me and my two friends watched it happen, and we were completely in shock!
@@49ersfan834 same here
was it a gas station that exploded?
@@surfingtothestars I have no idea what it was, it happened straight ahead from my front porch out in the distance. I could never figure out what it was that exploded

Normally I would have been going thru Nashville at that time in my Semi going back to
Indiana from Alabama but luckily I had this weekend off, I
went thru a tornado in Canton
Texas back in 2017 and it was
trying to flip my Truck and Trailer, that was a pucker moment!! Prayers go out to you all in Tennessee from Anderson Indiana!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏
Was that the same day 3 of them hit Canton one of them being a EF4?? Pecos Hank did a video of that day and said it was the scariest day chasing!
@bdunk914 Yes, it came thru the
morning of First Monday and tore up
downtown Canton, the Valejo gas
station on 19 had it's awning tore
down and parts were in the road, the
Donut shop cattycorner from it lost
part of it's roof and power lines were
down everywhere!! I had Brad Barton
on, he's the weather guy on WBAP out of Dallas, and he was calling out
the location of that monster as it came thru!! Scary as heck for sure!!!
Not to mention, that tornado obliterated the big power lines.
Wow! You could actually see the flames wrapping around the funnel. On the flip side whatever it was, I dare say the tornado promptly blew the flames out. 😳
I think it was a gas station or smth like that
You could actually see the explosion cause the funnel to decondense. Despite the obvious horror of the situation, really cool atmospheric phenomena occurring here.
Followed this on Ryan Hall. Accurate.
Kinda wish I saw it live too, I only usually watch on radar because I forget about the livestreams. March 31/ April 1 was crazy to see live on radar, I only saw on radar then and saw videos later. I thought the Keota, Iowa tornado was going to be the one to hurt alot of people (thank goodness it didn't) but I also was watching the Hohenwald, TN one and was shocked it got 9 people.
Wow! Huge thanks to NWS, Reed Timmer, MTEARS, and all storm weather prediction teams for helping everyone stay safe, prayers to those whose lives were lost.
Is there a count who died?
@@bobwreck3775 i know the BBC is a shite soure usually but they're reporting "At least six" (bbc because i live in the uk)
The tornado was SO strong it took the energy from a massive explosion and didnt dissipate a bit, not even to reorginize from the air pressure difference. WOW
This storm was vicious. Saw this explosion happen live on camera. This storm has claimed the lives of 3 people & hurt 24 others. Today was a very dark day for the Nashville area. This particular tornado was one of those worst case scenario tornadoes. It tore straight through a city @ dark & wasn't by any means small. My condolences go out to all affected.
Someone on another video thought that there was a gas plant around where the explosion was. Can you confirm? Hoping everyone stays safe during and afterwards.
@@1.4142 This tornado in Henderson took 3 lives while another in Clarksville took 3.
@@MarcosElMalo2 Yes. It hit a power plant converting gas into electricity. It busted the gas main causing explosion.
almost 2 years to the day that one wiped out part of mayfield ky, and other parts along its path
@@StormChaserMaci. Sounds like weather warfare going after the power grid
Scary seeing a fireball in a tornado. Praying everyone is safe!
Prayers of protection going out for your son and his family, as all in Tenn.
So thankful that our daughter and her family is safe in Hendersonville after the tornado
I saw this on Ryan Hall's stream yesterday. I hope everyone made it out alive. Scary stuff!
My thoughts and Prayers are with y'all during this difficult time.
Yikes! Scary stuff. Prayers for all impacted.
It’s quite incredible seeing the smoke in the tornado. Like adding contrast to an mri
Yes, i have prayed that the Lord will protect everyone as they assess the damage. May all who were injured get the treatment they need.
I saw that happen live on a traffic camera! Ive seen thousands of tornado videos over the years and NEVER thought I would see something like that!
Yeah the very same here too.
It hit our power station
I've been watching every tornado video since you had to order them on VHS tapes in the 1980s. I've seen thousands of videos, easy. Never seen a 300 foot fireball get sucked up into one. The closest thing to this would have been the 1871 Peshtigo, Wisconsin fire tornado.
@@eucliduschaumeau8813I take it you've seen the Australian black Tuesday (or black Saturday? it was one of the really bad fire days like 10 years ago, not sure which) where there was a mesovortex/tornado under a Pyrocumulonimbus? That vid is up there in the top 5 for sure
@@eucliduschaumeau8813it was the 2003 Canberra bush fire tornado. Proper tornado too, not a fire whirl
My son and daughter in law and grandkids live in Sprihgfield Joelton area! Hope they're ok! Prayers from Michigan!😊
Have you tried to get ahold of them?
Springfield definitely got damage. I know the Kroger was hit in downtown Springfield. Clarksville got the worst, near Fort Campbell - they don't know how many are dead yet.
Prayers, may they be found safe.
the cars driving away for safety, the destroyed sign, and the explosion it felt like an entire movie
3am here in East Tennessee, still having thunder and lightning but the rain stopped. We have had no wind or hail THANK GOD ! Our love and prayers are with all who were in this storm. Horrible !
Great work again, Brett Adair and LSM team. We are following from the Philippines and wishing the best for families effected in Tennessee and Kentucky.
Incredible capture!
Thank you.
I'm so lucky, this beast missed my apartment complex by few 100 yards. I got out of there and headed north.
Yesterday was a sad day here in Tennessee, with all the Tornado outbreaks and the loss of life and homes damaged in December, we’re supposed to have snow on the ground not tornados during this time of the year and hell I’m from Nashville born and raised and I’ve never seen anything like this in my life in December here, so sad R.i.P to all and sending prayers to all the families and friends 🙏🏻
My dude from 1950 to 2020, Tennessee experienced 30 twisters during the last month of the year, according to data from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. You guys got EIGHTEEN confirmed tornadoes in the first two weeks of December 2021. This is common in Dixie Alley
And snow on the ground???? You got a better shot at a tornado in December than snow on the ground 😂😂🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@johnwhitter Usually we don't see any real chance for snow until later on in the winter. But there are some rare instants where we see snow in December. It's also not a wide spread thing too. Meaning one part of TN could be seeing that snow, where the other parts don't.
@@suelancaster6959 The memory of the mass majority of people, is known to do a poor job at remembering what the weather did in the pass. Mostly because it something that everyone doesn't usually pay attention to, like some of us do.
not unusual to have tornados in December. snow on the ground in Tennessee at this time of the year??
Today hasnt been a very good day for Tenneessee, especially here in clarksville.
Sending prayers!!! this is terrifying!!
That’s something you don’t see everyday. Hope everyone’s okay.
The explosion happened when the tornado hit a substation. Notice the green/blue electrical flashes before the explosion.
Crazy night! I live in Gallatin, TN. I was lucky that I was spared. I do feel for the folks in Hendersonville though. My prayers are with everyone.

Oh my god, my dads friend live in middle Tennessee and I'm in east tn! Praying for him, it definitely gave some of its storm to us though, loud and rowdy from 10:45 pm to 3:05 am
Live by the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We do get our fair share of Tornadoes. However, its winter here and we had our 5th snowstorm of the year last night. Can't imagine dealing with a Tornado during wintertime. My prayers and condolences go out to the city of Hendersonville and all the families impacted by this tragic event.
It happens in Dixie Alley. We don't have a fixed tornado season so fallvand wintertime tornadoes are always a possibility. It's always weird as hell hearing sirens go off on Christmas day tho.
@@suelancaster6959 Tornadoes have been always a severe weather threat in TN, due to the fact that any cold or cool front that comes through, is meant with stronger resistance from the Atlantic and gulf ridges, over this part of the southeast. And that can generate severe weather on it's own.
Tornadoes in the fall and early winter can go as far north as Indiana, and Southern areas of Illinois and Ohio.
prayers for you all be safe take care 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Prayers from Florida! That thing must've hit a power station! 🙏🏾 🌪 😮
Propane tanks maybe, Like the big ones you see at distribution stations, or at industrial establishments that don't have natural gas utilities. But just only one cause. More then likely is was an electrical substation, judging by the blue/white flashes before the fireball.
@@KenKen-ui4ny Sad 😔 🙏🏾
Incredible !
That storm looks so wicked 😮
Damn! This footage will become viral.
That's crazy awesome footage. I've never seen an explosion of that magnitude in a tornado! Holy yikes! I couldn't imagine driving toward that an NOT turning around 😮
Unbelievable footage...
Wow keeping my prayers for everyone 🙏 😢
Omg crazy. I'm near Memphis and we had moderate storms but nothing like this. Hope no one was hurt or worse
It's eerily quiet while the tornado literally causes the whole sky to turn orange with that explosion. Crazy stuff.
Praying for TN and our neighbors North and South.
THAT RIGHT THUR IS A WICKED WHIRL WINDIN' TORNADER!!!
That tornado causing a explosion reminds me of that one scene in 'Twister'
I saw the explosion from my house in Gallatin, TN and the explosion looked green. Scary
Did it hit a substation? Propane?
@@katiehenry7 Yeah i think it hit the power station from what i’ve seen
Prayers for all i worked jn Hendersonville at the hospital
Sorry for those affected.
Straight out of the movie Twister.
Looks like it hit a power substation or transfer station.
That's my thought, too.
I concur. Looks like it touched off the mineral oil coolant.
Wow
I used to have family living in Hendersonville, and still have family in Gallatin. I was horrified to see both the I65 footage and the tornado emergency and feared the worst.
Holy crap! That is totally freaky! 😮
🙏❤🙏
If this was a big substation, shouldn't it have knocked out power to tens if not hundreds of thousands of clients right there and then and keep them off-grid until that massive damage could be repaired? Do we have any reports about catastrophic power outages in TN?
I don't know how big the substation was, but in general loss of a substation only affects a relatively small area. Most of the time it can be isolated and other parts of the power grid connected to compensate.
Incredible video! Does anyone know what the explosion is?
Tennessee memory. Good job cam
kind of looks like one of those end of the world movies. wondered what the little white dots were around the tornado. freaky.
Those dots are just reflections from the cars headlights....
I'm always amazed in these tornado videos to see people driving up and down the roads like it's a normal day. There's no way I'd drive towards a tornado, but there's also no way I'd be able to drive away from a tornado and not be able to keep my eye on it. You'd think people at a reasonably save distance would pull over to keep an eye on where it's going until it passes.
That's freaking nuts.
I'm in Gallatin out towards Portland and I could see this from the horizon! I got a clip of it recorded but I KNEW what I was seeing was destruction!
This is insane…praying for everyone in the area…Crazy our country has to suffer these outbreaks every year seems like.
Ha
0:20 I've never seen anything like this before. Holy cow! I don't even live in TN but I can only imagine the FEAR that put on peoples faces! Tornados in of themselves are scary, absolutely, but a tornado that has made something explode and then consumed the fire, momentarily becoming a fire tornado? That's on a whole new level of scary. Mother Nature does NOT PLAY!
I am honestly shocked we don't see more tornados taking up explosions like that.
Couldn't even spot the tornado until that fireball happened and then again. That's some scary ish. Black smoke mixed with storm clouds
This is shot from just across the Old Hickory bridge in Old Hickory pointing at Madison. Hendersonville is 10 miles away.
Nice job keeping the camera steady. Its horrible to see what happened.
Added to the list of terrible fates. Firenado. One of the most wicked things I’ve seen
🙏🏻 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Always so bad when tornadoes come at night
thats so cool! never seen a tornado do that suck up the entire explosion
I'm surprised some people were driving towards it.
