When I was in the convent, some children from a local orphanage came to sing Christmas carols to the nursing home where I was stationed. I was standing next to the children and I felt this little hand go into min. I looked down and saw the sweetest little girl looking up at me. She didn't know me, she. Saw my habit and knew she could trust me. Such a wonderful experience. Stays with me 40 years later.
I was a convert at 9 years old when an Irish Catholic family took me to Mass (Latin) and I fell in love with it. My parents were all for it and even put me in a Catholic school at that time. Now that I am older, the Catholic Church gives me so much comfort.
Beautiful!
❤❤❤
And here I waited till I was 64 before make te commitment. Late, but not too late.
Pure grace.
Never too late. Gratias Deo.
My brother was married by John Wayne’s grandson. He looked so incredibly devout to the Eucharist during consecration. Beautiful.
I'm an Englishman who is converting to Catholism. I'm 23.
And Catholics are some of the most patriotic Britons I've known. We pray for Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II all the time. We love our figurehead. Who has done so much for our country. I am, as are most Britons, a constitution monarchist. I'm sure the law could change today if a monarch wanted to convert. But at this time, the monarch is the Supreme governor of the Church of England. But we pray for the reunification.
God bless you brothers.
God save the Queen! 🇬🇧
Amen!
God save the King
Good for you 👍
For this yank to you, God Save the King. I respect king Charles, but i loved his mum
If Charles would just convert, we could reunite! 😁👍🏻
“Source and Summit of our Faith” The Eucharist has been a magnet to me!
I am now in RCIA. Through Him, with Him, and in Him! AMEN!
Welcome ❤ 🙏
You failed to mention that Knute Rockne was holding his Rosary, which he always carried with him (found in the debris of the crash), as the plane fell from the sky.
Awesome
Yet it didn't keep his plane from crashing!!😮😅
The Chief Black Elk definitely converted to Catholicism, eventually became a catechist and has been declared a Servant of God by the Vatican
My family were Catholic and we loved John Wayne. But I didn’t know he was a deathbed Catholic, I was born into my Father’s Catholic family and baptized as a baby. My mom was a Baptist as a child and married my Catholic father in the priests home and took instructions before she joined from him. I think she realized that it was good for us to all be the same religion and I think that was a great thing for her to do and my mother was very shy and I know that took her a lot of courage to do.
Most of his life, he considered himself to be a good Presbyterian (with notable Catholic leanings). Bob Hope was a good Anglican (Episcopalian) boy who finally was convinced by his wife to go over to Rome (he was pretty High Church, so not a long trip).
In each case, they had a faith in Our Lord but were led to another denomination by their bonds to others. We often experience G-d through our fellow human beings.
Too bad John Wayne was so racist.😢
Oliver Gogarty said of Oscar Wilde who had a late Catholic conversion: "Bhi se aige an da bhealach" He had t the two ways". Isn't God supremely generous in His attitude. I'm amazed at the generosity of speakers on the Catholic Talk Show. So genuinely chuffed at a person turning round their lives. I HOPE I LEARN FROM UT BECAUSE IT IS A GODLY TRAIT.
Wow! This show was incredible. I am converting and starting RCIA next week❤❤❤❤. I can't wait for first confession & Eucharist. I want to live Catholic not convert on my deathbed. You guys have been a huge part of this experience.
I do have a very serious illness though. Please pray for healing. I don't want it to interfere with RCIA class.
Thank you guys for being so approachable and hilarious on this serious topic of The Church. Thank you for being obedient to this precious call of God on your lives!
BTW! Fr. Pagano may not be Fr. Mike Schmidt!! But he is better just like he is, so there you go! Play nice with Fr. Pagano now.......😉😅😅😅
Added to my prayers! Welcome home!
Welcome! ❤❤❤
Always love to listen to people sharing their testimony and converting to Catholicism. ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
@@josephasauli9193 Yes. Even if it is on their death bed.
May I suggest you obtain Baltimore Catechism & Catechism of Pope St. Pius Tenth plus Douay -Rheims Bible. 🙏🌴

John Wayne - 3:16
Alec Guinness AKA "Obi Wan Kenobi" - 12:23
King Charles II - 20:50
Doc Holliday - 30:32
Buffalo Bill Cody - 33:51
Knute Rockne - 40:53
Norma McCorvey AKA "Jane Roe" - 46:20
Is Val Kilmer there (sure that’s him in the thumbnail..?) also, thank you ☺️
@@joannapeters4738 I think they were using the photo of Val Kilmer playing Doc Holliday. But I could be wrong.
Thanks for saving me an hour
Doc Holiday NOT Val Kilmer. Thank you, lol.
Thanks
Being Catholic is awesome and you guys make it even more awesome enjoy all your shows
Thank be to God for the Catholic Talk Show like this because it can help convert none Catholics to Catholicism. Please keep it up!
Amen!!
Being catholic is not only privileged but also responsibility of become holier every day.
A priest in a video said that a man who admired John Wayne greatly, prayed for20/ 30 years(can't remember) every day a rosary for his conversion, Maureen O'Hara would've been a influence to I think
Amazing!-true Charity (Caritas)-for another's soul...echoes St. Monica for her son St. Augustine
This is the second specific example of the*remarkable* power of the Rosary for conversion I've heard of.
Don’t forget, All of John Wayne’s wives were Latin and Roman Catholic (he married 3 times). First two were of Mexican descent, and his third (Pilar) was Peruvian.
I grew up admiring John Wayne my favorite male actor. My favorite female actress was Maureen O’Hara, still the greatest because of their morals and way they treated other people.
John Wayne was a Freemason. So glad he repented.
Alec Guinness was also influenced by Grace Kelly to become a Catholic when they made the Swann. Grace Kelly’s last movie before her marriage to Prince Ranier. He witnessed her praying the 📿 in her dressing room.
Okay
If you want to see one of the greatest movies ever, and had faith in patriotism, and the love of God. The movie the Alamo with John Wayne, and brought tears to my eyes.
@@iristownsend5174 I loved that movie
Awesome
I cried my eyes out during the “Alamo”, with John Wayne as leading actor.
Since I discerned out of seminary 6 years ago, I only infrequently encounter real conversations where the aspects of the Catholic faith are discussed unapologetically and with deep charity. Your anecdotes and examples give so much life to your points. You guys are crushing it. Thanks.
Wonderful Episode just viewed this on Holy Thursday after viewing Chrism Mass From The Vatican with Pope Francis and also Bishop Barron / Word On Fire his Homily was Inspired and right on point! You should try and get him on your show he is a wealth of knowledge and also incorporates some humor into his Homily’s 🙏✝️🙏 Have a Blessed And Holy Easter 🙏✝️🙏.
Bob Hope, another death bed conversion with the late Monsignor Kiefer at St Charles Borromeo, North Hollywood. Dolores Hope was very devout, always at daily mass when in town. Contributed millions and the church is a beautiful Spanish baroque.
Toluca Lake, not North Hollywood. 1st date with my wife ended with Mass at that church.
@@johna1607 North Hollywood, or the church bulletin has been wrong the 22 years I've been there.
@@pat2562 Dang. You are correct sir. Only attend Mass there 5 or 6 times.
I was a member of St. Charles Borromeo! I loved that parish! When we first registered and got our envelopes their number was 666! Yikes! We changed it!!! 🙏
@@maryannvitale67 Unfortunately, the new pastor drove many long time parishioners away, including me.
I love Tombstone and Doc Holliday! I don't care what I have to do that day, if Tombstone is on TV, I'm watching it until the end.
I heard it somewhere that having the Our Father said before recieving Holy Communion is very apt because apart from the Confiteor at the beginning it is our further expiation of our shortcomings For me, its like another chance of examination of conscience before actual reception. "Forgive us our sins as we forgive...." Thank you for your beautiful program. From Central Ametica
Dr. Takashi Nagai was a pretty famous convert to Catholicism, whohas quite a fascinating story. (At least I would consider him fairly famous; in his later years he received many well known people from around the world at his humble little hut where he lived the last years of his life with his children. Many of his books became bestsellers and there was even a movie made of his "Bells of Nagasaki")
DarrylCross I will to try get book sounds interesting especially with the miracle there that no priest was hurt and they were very near where bomb went off
Wow! Didn't know that!?
@@mariemiller8740
If I recall correctly, Takashi Nagai's books played a role in the conversion of Sr. Agnes Sasegawa, the one who received Marian apparitions at Akita.
I would also recommend the book Fr. Paul Glynn wrote about him called "A Song for Nagasaki."
He was truly a man of peace. Everyone should read his story.
Thank you fellows for your talks, and for bringing me back in. I converted at 8 and promised to be a saint, been trying to renege too many decades. I'm in! Yay God.
Chesterton converted to catholicism in 1922. His personal journey is most interesting. He also took on several giants of literature with solid arguments for the catholic faith. God bless
He had a lot of anti-semitic writing too.
So did most writers and intellectuals of the time. Nothing personal, so say.
@@billdent1328are Jews really so innocent? Look at the Israeli influence all over the world.
During family crises I found a statue of the blessed Mother.. Saddened by traumatic losses at age 7 I made three promises if I got three wishes thru her intercession. I got all three. I was baptised at age 11 and have been Catholic since. I love my Faith and its teachings.
Many in the early church held off until their deathbed because they wanted to be baptized and cleansed of their sins before they died.
It is wonderful that the sacrament of reconciliation is better accepted and recognized now.
Princess Diana’s brother. Also, John Wayne has a grandson who is a Roman Catholic Priest.
A Catholic priest.
Amazing.
That is wonderful..
@@Kitiwake A Catholic Priest of the Latin Rite. More easily called Roman Catholic. And with some history in mind, as well.
God bless!
All of John Wayne’s wives were Latin and Roman Catholic (he married 3 times). First two were of Mexican descent, and his third (Pilar) was Peruvian.
What a fabulous talk show! Even though I’m a cradle Catholic who left then was brought back to the magnificence of our Faith, I was unfamiliar with your show. You are a gift!!
John Wayne had all his children baptized and raised as Catholics even though he himself was not Catholic. All his children went to Catholic schools. He was not baptized until he was on his death bed meaning that he did not want to make a stop off in purgatory.
Converting to Catholicism does not assure one of a fast track to heaven.
Forgiveness is one thing but the reality is we must deal with the consequences of our sin. That is where Purgatory does the deepest cleansing.
@@karenmonasky9748 He was baptized just before he died. No purgatory.
All of John Wayne’s wives were Latin and Roman Catholic (he married 3 times). First two were of Mexican descent, and his third (Pilar) was Peruvian.

RCIA Convert from “Fundamentalist sorta”
I’m still trying to wrap my brain around purgatory….
I join the church 1978 3 years after high school. And I fell away . Now I'm considering going back to the church . A few ashamed I went to another church. I need to make an appointment with the priest that I need to do. I'm non practicing Catholic.
Converted too. Susan Heyward and I shared same Monsignor.
I really enjoy listening to your show. I'm 74 and I'm learning things I never new about my religion. I went to Catholic grade school but we had no Catholic HS for girls in our area, so iff to Public school I went. Thank you for all you do.
I recommend listen to mr Marino Restrepo who explains catholic faith on his channel Pilgrims of Love.
The first Marino Restrepo - Testimony in English i amazing story of conversion.
I am 72 years old, a convert 50 years ago, but have only known about the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist for the past 25 years. I am so grateful to God for his Mercy.
I love your show. Just watched the first one, 10 worst Catholic hymns, then the dog one and now this. This cheers me up as I've been depressed because my husbands been ill. Will be watching all now, and have learned a lot.
Prays for your husband!
Also George Washington, our 1st president became catholic. He had a visit by our Immaculate Mary.
yup!
This is soo much fun! You guys are awesome! And thank you for the St. Josephs tip on death, my brother has ALS and ive been thinking for awhile now what saint i should pray to for my brother. Thank you guys!
What a great program! …the openness of the Church, the mercy of God…the sacredness of the Eucharist…what bring people to the Church…bringing them to God.
Catholic talk show is uplifting and helps us to keep growing in our faith, getting more and more infos that we didn’t know helps a lot
Thank you very much. It was a lovely hour spent with you.
❤
The Duchess of Kent who is married to the Kings great uncle became a catholic because she had had an abortion. She was ridden with guilt and knew the Catholic Church taught that abortion was wrong. She contacted a Priest for help and eventually became a catholic. Her elder son has also become a catholic. She is such a beautiful kind person.
Wonderful presentation! Brought tears to my eyes.
All your shows have been good this was the best I've already shared with two and plan on sharing with more God bless you guys thank you very much 🙏🙏🙏
This is probably one of my favorite shows you all have done, thank you very much for all you 3 do in these shows
Great episode! Thank you ❤
Outstanding! It’s truly inspiring to see good men in Catholic fellowship while also just being one of the guys
Your show is great, and your opening credits are REALLY great.
Great Episode. Nice to know these famous people came in, even if under the wire. I would like to hear an episode of famous people who converted earlier, and lived faithful lives, while navigating the challenges of public life. There are some. Thanks, Guys.
Sometimes they must not be totally transparent ~ In general, Hollyweird is not open to religion.
John Wayne was a freemason. When he converted to Catholicism, there must have been such rejoice in heaven.
What is so evil about Freemasonry?
I had an uncle and great uncle who were Masons and they weren't evil people!!😮😅
Oscar Wilde. Evelyn Waugh. Roy Campbell (Poet). Dr. Israel Anton Zolli (Chief Rabbi of Rome).
....Ronald Knox....
Henry VIII did have a male heir, Edward, who under Calvinist tutelage brought Church of England strongly Calvinist. Otherwise, so far, so good in this podcast. I'm enjoying it. The reflection on being a priest for the dying is very powerful.
Philip VerHoeve, Vermonter, 1945-2016. Not famous but a devoted convert. RIP Phil
God bless you all and thank you for the information specially to know about the last indulgence before you die. I will ask my pastor about it so that my relatives know that when I’m on my last stage they will call the priest to do that rites. Amen 😇
Let's not forget the incredible John von Neumann. Definitely one of the greatest minds (if not the greatest) of the 20th century, he had a deathbed conversion to Catholicism. After a life of agnosticism, he eventually took the position at the end of his life that "There probably has to be a God. Many things are easier to explain if there is than if there isn't."
The splitting of the atom and the electronic computer both owe their existence to Von Neumann
You guys doing great job in the Catholic talk show. Love it. Praying for you and God bless u.❤👍👍🙏🙏
Start with a prayer! That's what I thought was coming when they told us to click the buttons. That's my humble suggestion to start the show.
Upon this rock i shall build my church.....
The story of Roe’s conversion is such a beautiful picture of the Lord’s mercy and grace.
Just found this channel it's awesome :)
Love this show, Catholicism is the true Holy Catholic Church Jesus Christ is the Messiah
Enjoyed your show about the famous people becoming Catholic. Another high profile convert was bernard nathanson-the Dr who was instrumental in making abortion legal. He was Jewish and was an atheist. He became pro life and in 1996 he became a Catholic.
Good job guys!
Excellent show guys, thank you and God bless.
Great program Thank you. I must add I have lived in the U.S. Northeastern Pa. for nearly 50 yrs. when I first came over. For the first time in my life. I came across anti catholicism. My in laws said such unkind things about Catholics.
I am English
Great show today.
I’m surprised you never mentioned John Wayne’s Catholic wife, Pilar Pallete, a Hispanic, who must have been the reason all his children were Catholic.
All of John Wayne’s wives were Latin and Roman Catholic (he married 3 times). First two were of Mexican descent, and his third (Pilar) was Peruvian.
This is one of my fav episodes
Great episode!
Great show! Thanks.
Excellent stuff you got over there, guys. Thank you for sharing your gifts. :) May I know where to get those cute little statues of saints that you have? Greetings from the Philippines, BTW.

You guys are great! Howdy from Texas!
Pray, for that polition that makes you so mad every time you hear her, or him. No one is beyond salvation.
You guys are S.F.S. Men of God. (Sweet, fully, surrended ) may the Lord continue to bless you all)
Excellent talk✨Thank you✨
Gary Cooper converted before he died also.
"He was gay, Gary Cooper?"
Thank and God bless you all!
It's funny how all the bobbleheads are socially distancing themselves prior to Covid. Love you guys!
My grandfather, a very devout and holy man, always loved John Wayne. Papa was unofficially adopted as a baby by the stunt double of Harry Carey, John Wayne's film idol, and raised on the sets of the silent westerns. I bet papa's prayers contributed to the grace needed for John Wayne's deathbed conversion. I know they contributed to my reversion. :) Being famous actually has some spiritual perks, I guess.
That's an amazing story! Your grandfather sounds like he was an amazing man!
@@braydenshanley7435 you mean you onew him personally? Or was it his ideology, worldview didn't match up with yours?
Jeff Scully He hated Black people, was a supporter of the Vietnam War, and was extremely anti-homosexual.
I also love John Wayne and I found out he was a Catholic .
All of John Wayne’s wives were Latin and Roman Catholic (he married 3 times). First two were of Mexican descent, and his third (Pilar) was Peruvian.
Lord Nicholas Windsor of the UK had to give up all rights to the throne when he converted to Catholicism from Anglicanism in 2001.
Yes that would be the Duchess of Kent’s son.
So sad.
Moved up!
Diane Sic gala, Catholicism is the ‘pearl of great price’ so it was worth it.
Monaco is a 'principality', not a 'kingdom'. Great episode. The point about Pope Francis providing approval for the forgiveness of abortion (Nov 2016), as he himself said, does not change the fact that while there is mercy from God, does not change that it is a grave sin. This is to aid the conscience of those involved to prevent and not participate in these grave acts of sin.
Bravi ... thank you ✝️
The English Monarchy has Roman Catholic roots!
I just watched your show. I love it. ..Informative.. May I request that Fr. Aaron Wessman of Glenmary Home Missioners be invited to talk with your show too. Thanks.
My favorite genre...the western, the Duke is the King of that genre! Best western ever...Stage Coach!
Thank you and God Bless.
I’m Not Catholic, I’m Eastern Orthodox (mostly because of Speculative Mariology & submission to the Pope), was raised Protestant. But I had a Mentor introduce me to Thomas à Kempis, Richard Rohr, Augustine, & many others.
So, when people like Kevin James, Shia LeBouf, Peter Steele, convert to Catholicism- I get it. ANYTIME I’ve been asked whether or not a person should ground themselves @ a Catholic church instead of Protestant- I encourage them to be reconfirmed if that’s really what The Lord is speaking to their heart.
May God bless you always.
John Wayne is my favorite hero of all times. I'm happy that he converted to Catholicism. He has a place in my heart and on my wall. Courage is being scared to death… and saddling up anyway.......true John Wayne philosophy 📿 Prayers offered for the Duke.
I find it odd how openly racist celebrities are continually admired. I guess people admire the characters rather than the actor…at least I hope that is the sentiment. John Wayne made racist remarks and believed Black people in general were inferior to White people-even while recognizing the resentment amongst blacks being treated inequitably. Unfortunately, this attitude is prevalent today.
Thank you guys, great show. Great is the mercy of Jesus our Lord.
Prince of Monaco not king.
James II (brother of Charles II) was the last Catholic Monarch of England. And he was actually booted out because of his Catholicism.
Thank you ❤❤❤
GK Chesterton converted to Catholicism in 1922. I love my Father Brown Mysteries!
Kateriteckawitha was Catholic. First Saint of the First Nations of North America.
Great show…
Also Tony Blair, former Prime Minister
Nothing to boast about.
Yes. Tony Blair is a Catholic.
Not a good catholic.
Not him, it was his wife, whew!
We come to Holy Communion as a "repentant" communicant. FLOTUS Melania Trump is Catholic.
Norma became a pro life advocate.
J.R.R. Tolkien = John Ronald Reuel Tolkien
Tolkien technically was not a convert. He was rised as Catholic at least since age of seven.
You forgot G.K. Chesterton!!! He converted to catholicism too!
And Graham Greene
Love your show, very informative. However, there is a correction to be made Charles II was not the last Catholic King of England but his brother (and successor) James II. Again, love tuning in and listening to your show. You guys have a great sense of humor!
Good catch, Floyd.
The nun (cousin) and Doc Holliday were in love (before she became a nun) she only became a nun because Doc Holliday refused to marry her when he found out he had tuberculosis. Not wanting to cause her suffering by watching him die Doc left. They corresponded throughout their lives. Her family burned their letters when she died.
It is suspected that the gun fight at the ok corral was the only time Doc actually killed someone. He was distraught at the death of the other gentleman. Doc Holliday was all bark and no bite. I personally think that he made up stuff to make people leave him alone do he wouldn't be bothered. He was just biding time until he died. The fact that he died Catholic is awesome. I've always liked Doc Holliday and I know it's silly but my trucks (all black 2500 4X4 Ram) name is Doc Holliday (Doc) for short.
Please talk about the cristeros you’ll love it❤️
You guys gotta do a short on Roe VS Wake to blast on the internet
Surprised Oscar Wilde wasn’t listed
His conversions story was a bit too involved and nuanced to fit within this episode. Great story though and we talk about it in another episode
