me too. Ive picked up a couple things to speed it up (esp for the BIG fish): one is to go into controls and change reeling from the R stick to the X/Square button (which just helps mechanically on the controller bc youre not shaking it but holding the button) and second is w the L stick, dont slowly switch between L-down and then L-Up as instructed but SPAM it. UpDownUpDownUpDown quickly etc. You will reel in even huge fish quite quickly, including legendary fish (from campaign but soon in RDO) . If you enjoy the leisurely fight I get that, just easier to secure the bigger fish and keep you line from breaking. Also Im not the best w coordinating right thumb doing circles while left holds up and then flicks to down etc.....
I did chuckle, I've been regularly fishing aurora basin since launch, and never thought to use this spot! I sometimes role play owning the waterside Shack there.

when fishing rod is equiped we can use eagle eye to see fish in the water. using special lure if any of smaller fish is hooked u can just reel it in. only had to give leave (dont reel) when other of the biger fish are hooked like bass, trout, salmon or giant fish that dont fit in the backpack. great video. lots of help once again :)

I will have to try that spot at Aurora Basin when I'm up that way next. Personally, I go after sockeye salmon and steelhead trout as their base prices are $5.31 in St. Denis. For the salmon, I go to O'Creagh's Run and for the trout, Catfish Jacksons. Since you can carry 20 of each in your satchel, if you take the max amount of both to the butcher in St. Denis you should land yourself a nice $212.40. It's a peaceful moneymaker, and boosts your max health :)

I fish regularly in this game and love it. It's a nice change of pace compared to your preferred role of choice that keeps you busy. I always have better luck with the regular lure more so than the special ones. But, I think it just depends on your preferred spots. There's also great spots around Owanjila. At Bards Crossing, Thieves Landing just to name a few. For non stop hits on a variety of fish and guick. This is great. And so is the cash. I will give it a whirl. Thanks Foxtrot
To add to RP my favorite fishing location is at and near the "fishing cabin" on north shore of Flat Iron Lake. Cabin filled with mounted fish and fishing gear, and fishing pier. Goid views of ships and blackwater in the distance. Usually, a few collectibles in the area and not bad hunting. And can pitch a wilderness camp on beach for fast travel.

I've been seeing your videos in my recommended for about 2 days now I thought I was already subscribe but I wasn't but I just did just now I like your videos man I went and found that stew pot the other day I knew the camp was there from a previous playthrough when I very first got the game on story mode but I don't remember being able to actually eat up out of the stew there in story mode , there are some differences between story and online I love this game I just redownloaded to the week ago from my library , 💯 really like your content man

Instead of reeling the line in with the right thumbstick you can change it to the x button on the xbox controller or the square button on ps controller. It makes fishing so much easier and your right thumb will thank you.
All small ones mostly I seen in the vid, you should try the creek by Van horn, using the River lure all I get is Sockeye salmon an they sell for 2.50 with a total of 30 Sockeye it comes to 75$ an you can just take the fish to Saint Dee an sell them at the Butcher, or Breakdown the fish an get the Succulent fish an use them for Daily's an I have been using that spot way before you did yours, an the spot I use, all you need to do is cast between the rocks an BAM Salmon, no need to reel in at all

There is a cove near Rhodes that works similarly. If they stop biting you can just walk a few paces down the shore and yank out steelheads and bass every cast. Some days I catch 2 Sturgeon back to back and end up walking to the Butcher in Rhodes

How do you upgrade your satchel? I don't think you explained it in the video and I can't find anybody else that explaines it well. I also enjoy watching your content, you're the only person I see that actually respects the game and that's what I need from a Red Dead online content creator.
@Animusinfinity Trader/Bountyhunter/Collector and Moonshiner give out these upgrades to your satchel. BH gives Kit Satchel and Tonic Satchel upgrades. Moonshiner on Rank 6 an up grade to your ingridient Satchel, at Rank 16 Material upgrade. Collector Rank 5 Provision and Rank 15 Valuables Trader Rank 5 Ingriedient , Rank 13 Material. So with all Roles your Satchel can hold 30 of each plant, likewise with most Meat . Material also 30 😉👍🏼
At level 14 you can purchase the fishing rod. What a great buy to make easy money! It's pure profit. No wasted energy that would take food and tonics. No hungry horse to feed. No wasting money on ammo.
Nice spot, ive used it for quick fishing a few times its handy for dailys. Ive a spot similar for Salmon south of Cumberland falls just up from the crossing on the west bank, plus the vista is amazing. Keep it slow brother :)

i have this "ritual" where if one of my friends buys RDO i give them a "Welcome Fish" which is usually a Northen Pike or a Lake Sturgeon as a gift from my part. i know its only 8 bucks at the butcher but its a good $8 to start off with

@BUDDAz1g You can purchase the “special spinner” from the fishing bait seller lady located at a house in the small swamp town of “Lagrass”. When you own the “special spinner” lure, you can select it to your fishing pole using your “item wheel” (similar to changing the bullets for your guns).

I have a question (sorry English but I'm Italian) I want to know how long a spinner or a special bait lasts since I have 4 at the post office but I can't retrieve them because I already have 1 I've been trying to catch some fish for a while but it never ends someone can tell me how long it lasts?

You can purchase the “special spinner” from the fishing bait seller lady located at a house in the small swamp town of “Lagrass”.
When you own the “special spinner” lure, you can select it to your fishing pole using your “item wheel” (similar to changing the bullets for your guns).
Welp,i can hold 99 of each small fish,and there's only small fishes in these locations,soooooo

You can change the settings to just hold down a button instead of rotating the stick, much better for me.
