Should You Use Kajabi or Cheap Alternatives?

  • Should I sign up for Kajabi now even though I'm not making any money or should I use cheap alternatives until I'm making enough to switch to Kajabi?
    That's the question I recently got from one of my students Hannah.
    Now - as an unapologetic Kajabi evangelist you know where I stand on Kajabi. It's the absolute best platform to run your entire online business on.
    I use it to run a million dollar a year business.
    But it's not the cheapest game in town.
    If you're starting out and don't have a lot of money (or any money) coming in, does it still make sense for you to build your business on Kajabi?
    I answer that question today.

    Fantastic, Graham!
    Nothing looks as good as Kajabi, from a course frontend perspective. The cheaper options like Thinkific, Teachable, Podia, etc just can't touch the look of Kajabi for delivering online courses.
    I'd definitely love extra customization features for making my courses look exactly how I want them - but I'm sure those options will come in time.
    As far as salespages and order forms, Kajabi has big drawbacks - a terrible order form from a conversion perspective, not to mention no proper OTO (upsell, downsell) setup. Need Clickfunnels or ThriveCart to do that properly.
    So, for me, Kajabi is THE frontend for courses. And email marketing. For salspages/order forms, gotta go with Clickfunnels. But that quickly becomes a $200/month setup.
    I'm definitely a Kajabi fan! Keep up the good work!

      Sales pages in Kajabi are brilliant since they got rid of "sales pages" and just let you build them from scratch with their Premier Theme editor. The cart/checkout works great in my opinion. And the DO have one click upsells which are seamless.
      Just my thoughts :-)

    Great video Graham! I was just at Brendon Burchard's event in San Diego called INFLUENCER, and I know he's a huge fan of Kajabi too. It looks amazing, and I have a quick question that's a little different than most people only selling info.
    I've been coaching one on one for close to 20 years, content is massive and been DEEP into personal and spiritual development etc.
    I get the back end here for coaching, membership, products, and courses, what I'm curious about is two fold, 1) why would someone use Kajabai as a full website when you get something amazing and beautiful like a Squarespace for a branded site, and 2) I'm moving more into my artist and entertainer side, (still with a foundation of empowerment and helping people wake up and know who they REALLY are, into their power etc.
    Including a new show (which I tested on a summit launch and it kicked butt, and now turning into a podcast and CZcams show, it's a mix of empowerment and entertainment, a late night show if you will, and I do music, spoken word, storytelling, film and TV shows coming, live events, shows etc that combine art/entertainment with empowerment messages, I'm creating a production company too.
    I never wanted to be a how to go or a program/course seller, so wondering how this all fits into using Kajabai?
    I can some ways to make it work like Membership, Merch, books, cool products that aren't necessarily how to but are cool and inspiring, an still create a shift, and things like that.
    I have a small list now after the summit, around 2000+ and a steady group of people who are raving fans. SO I'm ready to now up the social media brands, launch the YT channel, and build some back end, but making sure that I am 1000% true to my heart, passions, and the brand I want to create which is an artist, entertainer, and voice of empowerment.
    Would love your insight if you have any to share, and sorry about the long message, it's just one of those things as an artist/creative type, who's been in the marketing world and coaching making a move to switch it up a bit and most people only talk about coaching, programs, and how to courses, and I'm kind of moving away from all that and looking for some different ideas. I DEF have a high energy vibe and personality to rock whatever I do, so that's not a problem! Thank brother!

      I would say Kajabi is just a great platform to be able to sell anything online. One on one coaching, video courses, even live events. You certainly don't need it to host your website if you don't want, but for everything else it can be great for you.

    Hi graham, hope you don’t mind me picking your brain again.
    I have a website as my hub, Mailchimp for my mailing list, teachable for my courses and for my membership site. Kajabi sounds brilliant for getting everything in one place. My question is, how do you get everything that is already built and established onto kajabi? I imagine mailing lists is just a case of transferring email addresses over but what about people that have paid for a course or members, can you just transfer them over or is there something the customers have to do? I like to give my customers the easiest and most hassle free experience possible, it’d be great if I could transfer over with limited or no disturbances to them.
    You mentioned on the podcast that transferring everyone over has been hard for you. Do you mind sharing what the process is. Thanks Dave

    • @GrahamCochrane
      @GrahamCochrane  Před 4 lety +3

      Great question. Email is easy like you said. Upload all your email addresses into Kajabi. Courses you would have to re-create them (i.e. upload each module) in Kajabi which is a pain but once it's done it's done. Then you simply need to grant all your customers access to the courses they purchased in their new place (i.e Kajabi). Then re-creating your blog in Kajabi involves copying and pasting your posts one by one (time consuming if you have a lot).

    • @DavesGuitarLessons
      @DavesGuitarLessons Před 4 lety

      Graham Cochrane perfect, so transferring customers on to the courses doesn’t seem to be difficult, it’s just the uploading everything is the time consuming and difficult part.
      Thanks Graham

    My main website is edenu.tv aka edenu.org, however I also have a personal brand faithbeckford.com where I want to present my poetry, songs, and my own artistic stuff that does not quite fit on edenu. How are you doing this? if you are. Thanks for lmk

      Yes - and that thinking is exactly why I didn't originally jump ALL in and go FULL KAJABI so to speak. I slowly but surely migrated everything over as I saw just how stable, robust, and legit the platform was. Also getting to meet the president, CEO, and lead product designer helped. Seeing their commitment to this platform - to being the best in the industry - was the final push I needed.

With the help of this tool, I'm able to create unique courses based on various themes and languages. Thus, I'm able to capture a larger audience base. In addition to this, I'm able to sell my courses on profits with the help of its in-built profit-boosting plugins.
