- In case of a sudden snowstorm, being well-prepared is crucial. In this video, I'll show you how to build a simple yet effective winter survival shelter to seek refuge from the elements. We'll also kindle a fire to cook our food.
Join me and my loyal dog as we spend the night safely in our makeshift shelter.

This is useful information. I’m 70 years old and live in Colorado. Never take Mother Nature for granted! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much 👍
yes! when i was a kid in the 70s and 80s, my mum who is an amazing cook always took herbs and spices with us when we were camping, and she was an avid photographer so she used leftover film canisters to store them. love to see this advanced level of preparation for flavour, however it manifests! 😆❤
Winter Wonderland! Beautiful countryside! ☃️
Thank you 🙂
This video captures the essence of survival in challenging conditions. The bushcraft shelter built in heavy snow is a testament to resilience and resourcefulness in the face of nature's challenges. The skills demonstrated here, from selecting a suitable site to constructing a sturdy shelter, are invaluable for anyone venturing into the wilderness during winter. It's inspiring to see how creativity and determination can turn adversity into an opportunity to thrive. This video is not just about survival skills; it's a lesson in preparation, adaptability, and respect for nature's power.
Nice shelter, healthy and happy dog. 🐕❤
Thank you for your comment 🙂
Amazing video Florian !!!! Soo much snow !! Brilliant!!
Thank you Markus & Steph🙂it was pretty hard but a great experience! The silence when it snows is overwhelming!!
What a beautiful experience. Thanks for the video

Richtig urgemütlich sieht das Shelter aus.. Top spitze.
Vielen Dank 👍
Nice view to wake up to, I like you brought your dog with you. Great Video 👍 19:09
Thank you very much 😊
What a great adventure. Loved it.
Thank you 🙂
I found pocket lint makes an excellent fire starter. Very cool video.
Absolutely! Thank you 🙂
Great job, survived the night.
Thank you
Awesome video. Beautiful country

Immer wieder eine Freude deine entspannenden Videos anzusehen :)
Danke für dein Feedback 🙂
Sehr beeindruckend!
Danke dafür - mach weiter so!
Excellent
Dogs are good too
Thank you 😊
The leather seasoning pouch is legend
Yeah it's really good 😊
😅😅...ya I knew there was something missing for my pack ...a spice rack ..😅😅😅..could have used that spot in yours for some fire starter.s ...😅😅
Amazing video🇹🇯
Thank you 🙂
Danke 🙂
Awesome shelter!
Thank you 🙂
I like for this video
Thank you 🙂
Respect 🥂
Thank you 😊
@@silentoutdoors4412 A little advice, stay calm so you don't seem rushed. 🙏
@@richthofen5729 I'll try it🙂
I sure hope Kira was in that shelter with you, it's hard to tell since she blends into the darkness inside there. Nice cozy shelter ❤
Thanks 😊 At 17:42 you can see a sheepskin to my right and something black sitting on it with a white chest spot. A few seconds later she can be seen in my sleeping bag with her paw on the sheepskin.
That bell sound from the axe 😁🤙
What a nice strong axe!
A good tool!
Praying for you 🙏 u are awesome
Thank you 😊
Great video.
Thank you 😊
Nice shelter!
Thank you 🙂
Super video
Thank you 🙂
Uomo e natura ,.gran bel video . complimenti 💪
Grazie per il tuo fantastico feedback!
Einfach ohne worte, Super Video bitte mehr!!!
Grüße der ost Berliner
Dankeschön 🙂
This type of shelter was made even more effective by the heavy snowfall.
That was my thought too! simple and efficient!
I never see anyone using those ferro rods correctly. If you will scape just hard enough to get some ferro powder on your tender then scrape hard for sparks it works every time
Thank you 🙂
This reminded of why i don't like the summer - there's no snow to build a shelter to keep you warm !
🙂you are absolutely right

This took me back to last year when I was exploring 70s anime. Plus I love driving in the night on my Miata just enjoying the scenery with the top off while these play in the background
Thank you 😊
Danke für die geilen Videos, 👍
Dankeschön 🙂

Echt wiedermal a saugeiles Video allein wie aufwendig es Schneiden mot de Perspektiven usw is. Geile Aktion 😃🔥💪
Danke Woif 🙂
Boy, you almost cut down the whole forest 🤷🏻♂️
Not the whole boy!
His video looks very cool, but nice🎉.
What state is that in ?
And thanks for not playing this annoying background music.
Thank you 😊 I'm from Austria 🔥
Gracias 🙏 greetings from Austria 🔥
Great video, thank you brother. A small tip if you don’t mind - when starting a fire, hold the steel still and pull the flint backwards over it. The sparks still fly forward but you don’t upset your tinder with all that forward motion. Cheers!
Thank you very much 👍
Carry two BiC butane lighters instead. No weight. No delay. No need to shave duff and then sparks from a firestick with cold numb fingers. You are already using a modern steel hatchet, modern saw, modern clothes, boots, flashlight…. Forget nostalgia and romanticism. Use a modern fire lighter.
Thank you 🙂
❤
🔥🔥🔥
top 😁😁🤘🏼
Danke 🙂
Stark!
Danke!
I like that video

Nice camera angles, keep up the good work
Thank you 🙂
Your setting in a bomb shell
It was a perfect shelter for that night🔥
@@silentoutdoors4412 Agree w you. Base of a tree can in many circumstances a perfect shelter.
Winter camping is like heaven to me. Watching from Michigan USA
@@timfronimos459 thanks for watching 🙂
Next time, build a sled to drag materials. All night fire would have been smart, as well.
Thanks! an all night fire was used in a previous video! czcams.com/video/vwLriuxhcsY/video.htmlsi=x7sdy3iee4tmUGWe
Out into the danger...built a shelter under a pine...as the snow literally piles in!! LOVED THIS!! NEW SUB!!! TY!!
Thank you 🙂
Salam kenal sobat, sukses selalu 🙏🙏
Thank you very much 🙏
Try coming to Indonesia, where it's cool and doesn't snow, camping will definitely be more peaceful😊
Indonesia is wonderful 😊 maybe I try
RESPECT!!!
Thank you 🙂
Thank you 🙂

🥶 nice video. The snow is really beautiful. I can't handle the cold since I am much older. I still like to see it.

Some people have some Stupid comments thats his dog

It and also feed it and keep
It warm when need use your head people
Thank you for your comment 🙂
Most don’t use their head nowadays
Definitely one dog who is well fed, and taken care of. 🐕
@@silentoutdoors4412
Welcome brother ♥️
Half way through this fine video, I was wondering if you coukd heap up some snow and maybe boughs of evergreens on the upside of your structure, to block out the cols air moving down the hill somewhat.
Thank you! I think I set up the shelter pretty well with the spruce branches so that I was protected from the snow!
Coole Aktion!
Souper layv
Thank you 😊
My fav part is always the sound of boots in the snow, and the bird’s squawking. Where you cut the tees down looked to be a much drier, flat spot. Was it due to heavy tree coverage why no snow? I May have choose that spot to camp.
Thank you 🙂i know what you mean. Unfortunately, in almost every place I went, the terrain was at least so steep that it was out of the question for a place to sleep.
Man who chop wood warm twice
🔥🔥
Love the video and the dog
What is the doguuu name
🐕
Thank you 😊 Her Name is Kira 🔥
When u start fire use instead that moss material on the branches from pine trees instead 😊👍
Thank you for your feedback
Snowstorm Light 10:15
What is the dog 🐶 eating for dinner
beef bones and a can of dog food
He’s eating the dog 😂
Where is the dog 😂😂😂😂
😶
Afghanistan🇦🇫 and
Austria 🔥
Where did your dog go while you were warming next to the fire? Did you feed him?
she was behind me. you hear how she eats and then she lies in my sleeping bag. only her black paw can be seen on the white sheepskin🙂
What happened to the dog? Did he eat it?
Of course
Thank you 🙂Of course Kira ate and she sleeps in my sleeping bag. it's quite difficult to see at 17:50 her black paw on the sheepskin
You can clearly see in the video that he sleeps in my sleeping bag in the evening.
Dog is eating at home
at home, in the car, at the shelter, on the way home... I think she eats all the time😂
Weres the dog did you feedback him?
Of course 🙂
What kind of snow is thst?
Definitely white snow. Not too hard and not too soft, just perfect ❄️
Dog gone😳
Where? Oh, she's black.....
Light snow..zz
Nice video. However, I can’t help wondering why those who make these videos devote so much time to cutting firewood? I learned how to use an axe and saw when I was 12 years old. There really isn’t all that much to it.
Thank you for your feedback 🙂
We (mostly all viewers) have cut/sawed/chopped plenty but for those who may be new to rugged camping it's very useful to show how much actual labor it takes especially for an all night warming fire.
I didn't see you feed you dog.
she ate more than me🤣🤣 she got her can at lunchtime and in the evening she ate with me. At the end she also ate the beef bones, you can hear it very clearly in the video 🤣
In that case, it can’t have happened 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤦♂️
why dog only got one bite? :D
because her second name is “the one who snaps once”.
🙂
Where did the dog go?
In my sleeping bag
Half the forest gone for one night?
Half?
Where exactly is the snowstorm….it was peaceful weather with snow all around but not snow storm….
I was traveling at around 1900m above sea level. The weather forecast was bad and the walk to the car took 2 hours. If you descended 100 meters the visibility was almost zero. Since the terrain was relatively steep, I decided to stay and spend the night under my spruce tree. The forecast wind speeds of up to 70 kmh are gone, thank God!
@@silentoutdoors4412 ok…thanks for reply n info
