Building Winter Bushcraft Shelter - Shelter In Snowfall - Freezing Cold
Vložit
- čas přidán 28. 11. 2023
- I head out in the woods, and build a survival shelter using natural materials. This was just a temporary shelter, so i could take cover from the snow. I made some simple food and also some coffee as usual. The temperatures were around -6°C to -13°C.

That's a very peaceful video, it's the simple things that are magic, enjoying yer pipe and just turning round the charred logs, magnificent x

Good work, it's remembert to Bertram, the dannish you tuber. 👍👍👍, good luck from Germany.
Thanks!
You got more guts than me, bro! That said, sure was enjoyable watching how you tackle those challenges, in relative comfort, no less! Good use of available resources!
I see a big boulder or rock wall like that, I think I would wonder how to safely build the shelter and still have the fire right up against that rock, using it as a thermal mass and reflector, for storing and radiating heat back into the shelter, getting everything possible out of the firewood. Ever do one like that?
Thanks! That’s possible but there is a risk it will crack.
I love a fire like that , slow burning and smokie because of the weather conditions , it just smells and looks amazing , you can almost smell the difference in the different pieces of wood , to me it's a unique special type of fire .
I know most people get all upset when they have a fire like that , but I love it .
But I also like to constantly use it to dry out other wood , I'll make a ring of wood around it , with an opening right in front of me , depending on what mood I'm in or what I'm doing , the biggest wood on bottom and smaller on the way up all the way to kindling .
I constantly monitor it and rearrange it and store it in a safe dry place .
As I'm doing this I put some of it on the fire , to help make more hot coals. I keep doing it this way until l have as much dry wood as I want or till it just not practical because of the heat of the fire . ( wood keeps starting to chach on fire or smolder constantly )
It keeps me entertained for hours , a lot of hours sometimes , sometimes only a couple of hours , but it ensures I have dry wood to make hot coals quickly , so I can burn more wet wood , which I love to do.
So thank you , I haven't done or seen this scene the pandemic .
You got another subscriber.
I do the exact same thing. Last year on one hike, I made the mistake of not clearing the snow first and it's burnt down about 3 ft. 😄 Usually I do but was just lazy.... Days are a lot shorter and nite comes fast!
Thanks! Totally agree with you! A fire can keep you engaged for a long time!

Your nature is so beautiful, I also want to make the same theme as you... a good idea to make a survival shelter next to a rock,,
Thank you!
yes..🥰@@NordicForestLife
Genial 👍👌😂
It's amazing how you got that fire going on that stick surrounded by snow, what was the powder magnesium or gun powder like your shelter as well simple effect not some elaborate little house
Do you mean what I started the fire with? It’s a ferro rod
🇰🇷 응원합니다
Thanks!
Looks great! I can't wait until we get our first decent snowfall. I can still see the darn grass :(

One of the little Rascals is making a fire
hi! i am from south korea!!! i love your shelter!!!! That's very impressive!!!
Thanks!
A nice video despite the cold weather. Now I also shoot survival videos.❤
Thanks!
Your very good at smothering your fire instead make a T pee flames move fast on slants so don't stack
I noticed that too. He kept putting on too much wood and the fire couldn’t get enough oxygen.
Another great trip ,storms are my favourite.you need a really good tarp or a polish tent poncho for your shelter help keep the rain an snow off and the cold out. But that will all come when yo get more subscribers. .please be careful with the axe Be safe cheers Ron
Thanks! This was just a temporary one to take shelter from the snow which worked well. But yes a tarp is needed to keep the rain out!
After flames strong then stack never at the start
I'm. Your 500th subscriber ❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
I look at this video and I see a whole bunch of live trees and someone is worried about cutting 1 live tree, you should go through survival school like some of us did and nobody worried about cutting 1 live tree to survive, you use what ever is available to keep from freezing to death
Muito bom CN
Thanks!
It's very cold for me because I come from Indonesia where there is no snow...where are you from? I'm waiting for your new video.

I didn’t notice until I was editing the video
To much birch bark and to much wood to start your fire who heard of such nonsense
You use too much Birch Bark to start your fire. Plus you put enough firewood on to start a bon fire. You didn't gather enough wood to last you the night. Not a wise move.
I didn’t need the fire to last the whole night, it was mostly for cooking and some warmth.
太令人難以置信了,在那樣低溫的環境,竟然不需要整夜的維持火源來保持體溫,你非常厲害👍
如果是我,一定看不到隔天
What is your youtube channel called, where you demonstrate the right way to do all these things?
But did he die? Irrelevance in grandeur...
How much does your pack weigh
Another excellent video, thank you for sharing. I could almost smell the wood smoke from the fire.
Thanks!
