I was manipulated and hoodwinked into a terrible career and life path for years by a "mentor," and it's really shocking to see the similarities between who I dealt with and Fabia. Even down to speech patterns and the faux-intelligent ramblings they use to lull you into a false sense of security. It took a lot for me to realize what was happening to me and it was a real challenge to get out and their hold on me looked like nothing compare to the hold Fabia had on Sanchez, so I can only imagine how hard it was to realize he was being deceived and get out. I hope the best for Sanchez as he takes the next steps in his life/career.
Joshua realized his gravy train was ending with it being diego's last fight so tried to get set up with a law suit and didn't mind dragging diego through the mud to get there

Without a doubt, the ufc saw this coming a mile away. The scam was so obvious. I actually think they were having Diego act crazier than normal to really sell it. Fabia is such a bad actor. For the life of me I can't understand how he got even a single person to follow him around.
I mean, he was just doing his job there TBH(there's a reason guys on his level make big money) - Fabia left the UFC no choice. Any competent organization is going to do the same thing and NOT put a fighter in the cage after they/their team pulls a stunt like that. Successful companies aren't in the business of opening themselves up to any liability beyond what's necessary for them to operate(if a fighter got injured by a flaw with the cage or with overhead rigging or whatever[and they didn't cause it themselves obviously], I suspect the UFC is almost unavoidably liable here for example, that's a potential liability that they operate with).

Fabia to me comes off as a guy who takes anime like “Grappler Baki” too seriously, and tries imitate it in real life. Realizing that fiction is fiction, he finds a way to lure gullible people or people with mental issues into thinking that can work in a real fight. The motive… scamming those said people out of money like as Beige previously stated “run of the mill snake oil salesman.”
Diego was a journeyman his whole career, just cause he was wild with his stand up n could take a shot don't make him no "legend " . Journeyman is what he always was
I know this was a funny saga but I am genuinely worried about what will happen in the next ten years with some of these legends. Tony Ferguson choking his wife because he thought she was a witch for example. I really don't want to see a Chris Benoit situation in the UFC but I feel it's inevitable
this is an old comment, but i think it’s important to note that tony 1) never choked his wife - according to her, he never put his hands on her 2) was going through a psychotic episode. he hasn’t disclosed what he has, but i think it’s either schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. in either case, he had an episode and was suffering delusions before his wife got him back in treatment.
it’s a difficult mental illness to be dealing with, but it never made him abusive as far as we know, and it predates his career as a fighter - he’s been on medication since before he was on tuf.

You can see the moment fabia's words come out of his mouth. He talks alot of bullshit about "the west" and can see fabia has been twisting deigo up with hateful shit for a long time. A very us vs them mentality. Hearing deigo is like hearing that pampered chick in your town after she's been dating the militant dope dealer for a while, and she's repeating all the hilarious shit she's been battered with.
