Ferrari 488 GTB vs Porsche 911 Turbo S: turbo supercars fight it out
Vložit
- čas přidán 4. 05. 2016
- The Ferrari 488 GTB is the first turbocharged, mid-engine Ferrari since the legendary F40 in the 80's. That is a lot of pressure for a new supercar to live up to, but the Fezzer shone through in our first drive in Italy.
So, what else could we do but pit it against the incredibly fast Porsche 911 Turbo S? The Ferrari might be less practical and more expensive, but its performance can easily give the 911 a run for its money!
Watch the video to see Steve Sutcliffe and road test editor James Disdale take to the bendy British B roads right here...

Porsche 911 Turbo S 2016 review: aex.ae/1Krcgyr - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I looked at both these but, in the final analysis, went with the used Fiat Panda option.
+jdclover Think I found James May's CZcams account. Only person in the world who would choose a Panda over a Ferrari.
jdclover me too a Dacia duster
Perfect decision
This is a easy decision, get both cars. I would use the Turbo S as my everyday car Mon to Fri, then on weekends use the Ferrari. Now all I need is the money.
I think that most people with a 488GTB have a daily car like a Range Rover or Porsche 911. The Ferrari is a weekend car as you've suggested whereas the 911 can be used daily. However, the Ferrari offers more thrills and looks way better.
i don't get rich people and range rovers they are just over priced jeeps if i were rich i would go for a nice 4 door Mercedes or BMW it just makes a lot more sense
MaSHED T8RS I had BMW and Mercedes and I can tell you the maintenance cost isn't worth it. And you need a lot of maintenance for those brands.
Trust me...Land Rover is worse than those brand when it comes to maintenance..
SicoSniper1912 Lexus IS very reliable
misleading title... was expecting both cars being put against each other on the road, not under the perspective of two journalists...
+Mohammad Alqarawi Completely lol... "Fight it out" ...
^^
I love honest quality perspective with quality content rather than boring drag race, those cars are not evo vs sti where u can simply just show the numbers and time to prove which are better.
don't worry, we are all in the same boat
Thanks for the heads up
Well... in the Porsche you can take 3 girls!
So why not?
You can in the Ferrari as well, you'll just be forced to be more creative with the packaging. I'll take the 488GTB
Legal transport... LOL
I like your style!
Two of them would have to be sans legs.
Both are just stunning....
Buy the Porsche, rent the Ferrari.
Nope..Ferrari...
As an engineer I could never own a car from a marquis who's motto is "If you can afford the car you can afford the repairs and maintenance". Probably why I own three 911's.
+NuclearGrizzly
So I guess the motto didn't scare you. I assume as an engineer you feel brave enough to buy three 911's as long as you can fix all the problems yourself. If you get tired of that, sell all 3 and buy a real sports car, a Ferrari. The repairs will end and you only smile :)
Fast Er
My '73 is heavily modified and still reliable. My '97 Turbo S has nearly 200k on the clock and never left me stranded. My '15 Turbo S has also been fantastic. I had a '11 Turbo S that was OK. But of course not nearly as bad as anything ever made in Italy. Unlike Ferrari Porsche takes care of recalls as soon as there is a problem. Unlike Ferrari that took years to admit that their 458 occasionally would burst into flames. I owned a 360...or as i knew it the money pit. It was beautiful garbage. I've lost track of how many times I've picked up or dropped off my former business partner at the Ferrari dealership (in my 911 of course) for a repair on his POS 458. This is his second 458 and both have been beautiful garbage. I see my mechanic once a year. I see his every couple of months.
And each time I hear "If you can afford the car you can afford the repairs and maintenance".
@@Dgannt
"The repairs will end"
No they won't. 911s don't need repairs because they never break.
@Aykut I still have all three of my 911's. In these past 4 years I have had zero break downs and only regular maintenance. The only thing major was that I had to clean the SAI on the '97. Something that has to be done every 20k-30k miles. In the past 4 years my cost of ownership for all three has probably been less than what a Ferrari owner pays for a single 3 year service.
I'm a Porsche guy, but I have to tell, the 488 is gorgeous.
"I can't think of a single reason why you'd ever want to go faster than this"
I'm pretty sure in 1-2 years time, there will be another Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche etc... that will change your opinion.
+Alan Bowers Yep.....and if you look back to old reviews on the 458, 430 etc. I bet they all say the same thing.
+Alan Bowers Exactly, and if he doesnt want to ever go any faster than that, then he should get a camry.
I'll take the Ferrari please.
I would take both of them. They are both equally exceptional road cars in their own right, the 911 for is stunning Swiss watch engineering excellence; the Ferrari for it passionate, stunning beauty, its sheer modern-day automotive brilliance, and its unique and joyous driving experience.
I'd take the 911. Hopefully I'll be able to afford one in 10-15 years time.
Hahahaha
WHY DO YOU LAUGH? HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAA IM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SOORRRRRRYYYYYYYY HAHAHAHAHAHA
Go for it Atticus. Get to the dream. I had to wait 25 yrs !!
The presenter is right. If I drove the porsche blindfolded I wouldn't be able to tell it's turbocharged. I doubt I would make it to any conclusion before I hit a lamp post.
Sarcasm
Actually, he's full of shit. The turbos are VERY obvious. Tip the throttle in just that extra little bit, the wastegate closes and the car kicks you in the small of the back suddenly. It's not exactly lag, it's more like when you ask for more than the motor can give on its own, the turbos make it very plain that there's plenty of boost available, in the language of violence.
More Steve Sutcliffe videos, period!
":-)
My brain says turbo S however heart says raari? Hmm
+Jack cooper it's FERRARI for christ sake
Haha I was thinking the same thing, I drive a 997 911 GTS... and I still say rarri too
Just buy both
+Michael Da Re. Glad I'm not alone. I drive a 997.2 4S and I'd have that 488GTB every day. Fells like cheating on your wife a bit, but I thinks it's gorgeous.
No. Say Ferrari properly it dont say it at all
my heart when he changes gear in that ferrari. the emotional experience is more than falling in love.
I'll take the Porsche and the £35k thanks, more my style and less showy.
If I could afford the 488, £35k is nothing. I'd buy both cars if I were that wealthy.
The main reason I bought the 991 TS due to the latter
Ferrari for me
funny how if some one were to say "i would rather have a 911 tubo than a 488" everyone would be like "oh so would i" and praise the commentor, but if someone were to say "i would rather have a Z06 than a 488" floods of Europeans would swarm in and tell you how wrong you are and how inferior the z06 is, how closed minded of people.
+john learoux I think that will change once Corvette will make bigger numbers in EU. Im not fan of US interior styling, but I do admire progress they have made from C6 onwards and kicking EU ass from time to time. Like in many examples, EU cars tend to be coky and smuggish resulting you getting less for money and bigger revenue for them. We need to praise more US cars to actually get more from our cars in future.
+Reptilius Maximus LOL what do you have a in USA?? fastest car in the world emn no quickest car in the world NO fastest around corners NO best intrerior NO NO NO.. YOu got nothing except makeing cheap cars ONLY IN USA doh in Europe a C7 vette is the same price as Turbo S-488-458-lambo-maclaren etc etc.. So you make cheap cars in USA that works great no doubt but you are so far off on anything in EU that`s scary.. The reason for this is that no company has the balls to go against the American ppl and start to make expensive cars of course this means more expensive cars and thats where the Achilles heel is...
+john learoux american cars are shit. so shut up and drive your fucking corvettes and vipers.
Im American and Id rather have a 488 than a C7 Z06. You gotta think about it, a Corvette is worth a lot of money. Especially a Z06 which can be what around $80K-$90K. But a lot of people can acquire a Corvette with a lot of hard work and a good paying job. You dont have to be rich to get one basically. Now a Ferrari on the hand which costs $200K-$300K, you gotta be rich and even for most mid class people that would be too far outta reach or just out of the budget. You might be able to get an older Ferrari but a newer one would cost a lot plus all the expenses after buying it. I agree that the Z06 is a world class supercar for performance but if someone gave me the option between the two id take the 488. If it was my money and i was making a decent amount id get a Vette or a Viper. If was filthy rich id get them all haha!
+griimey Yess but thats what i said they work in USA and tey`re cheap there but not in EU.. So you get bang for your buck... IN EU they`re not good laptimes wise of course they do good in USA thats LOL... in EU and the rest of the world it`s no better then a Gallardo 507bhp V10..
Can I get both? Hell I'd be happy if I ever got one of them.
I hate hearing people talk about usability when talking about supercars.
feel free to use a viper acr as your daily then :)
Well, not every person who buys a supercar can afford to buy an impracticle one and a comfortable one. Just sayin
"If you can afford the car, you can afford the maintenance" is a dumbass statement to live by.
@@aristosachaion_ totally agree.
Anyone who would rather have the Porsche is lying to themselves
Not me
Not everyone is a show off
+kraenk12 if both cars were parked right in front of you, I'm sure you would think twice about picking the Porsche
@@stevensnow8851 Yes indeed. Those rare times I meet a Ferrari I feel if I won a lottery that day, I couldn't resist buying one the day after.
The Porsche has less of such an effect.
The Porsche, you admire. The Ferrari, you love. This is hiw beauty affects us.
The way these guys talk, a lot of suspense hahaha, love it, Great video
I love these watching Steve review cars. He is excellent, and conveys the experience thoroughly.
Porsche really needs to make a new GT2/GT2 RS
+J. Martinni There will be a 991.2 GT2!
+Jordan Probably, yeah. There are prototypes/mules driving around. They just need to finally put it in production.
+J. Martinni YESS i agree this is getting to heavy to compete they need a GT2RS and it`s comming ohh YESS it`ll arrive in 2017 or 2018 so we have somthing to look forward to and i am guessing it`ll be a killer... GTRS class thank god and the new 911Rand GT4 CAyman actually they`re doing quite a bit for customers LIKE ME tthat want REAL carswith fewer electronics 6 speed light chassie ohh thats whats sports car should be about..
But POrsche know what they do they make a different car for every needs who else can we say that about?? being a sportscar buis=?? i can`t think of one brand..
And they did
I'd take a second hand 458 over these compromised supercars any day of the week.
+Bugumir +1
+Bugumir 458 speciale please
"Compromised" is what way is a 911 Turbo S "Compromised"?
Daniels30 maybe is the rear engine layout
The 911 Turbo is not comprised. Thats the Carrera. As for the 488, that takes the cake
I`ve enjoyed every sec of this video, great job guys.! thank you!!
If you'd have enough money to buy either one of those cars then who in their right mind would buy that boring porshe lol? I mean seriously. The Ferrari 488 GTB is a proper supercar and it's just completely on another level in every aspect, the looks, the sound, the performance...everything is just perfect. Ferrari 488 GTB for me please!
Every time I hear "Porsh", I die a little inside. Have a little respect and pronounce the family name correctly.
Im not a fan of porsche's simplistic design,i mean i love how it looks but it's not gorgeous like a mclaren, ferrari, lambos ETC
It's an acquired taste
It gives you the option of having all of the exotic supercar fun with none of the attention.
I couldn't care less about the attention, but I'm very much a fan of my $300,000 car not breaking down.
great review guys
If i spent $200k on a car, then realized for $40k more I could've bought a Ferrari. I would instantly end myself.
+serjiang then you'd never buy a non-ferrari car because you can get a used one for much, much less than that.
Ferrari is JUNK owned 2, now 2 Porsches, both are much faster than any Ferrari
it currently has 488 views......
it will eventually be 911 sometime later...lol
aditya jethi lol true
I just love when Steve talks about cars! :D
Amazing review by two amazing reviewers. Thank you, gentlemen. I'd pick the Porsche 911 Turbo S in a heartbeat for its power and its understated design.
Beautiful vid. Will take the Porsche. Thanks. :-)
Turbo S
+Ахмед Магомедов In Soviet Russia Union, car choose YOU
+Ахмед Магомедов
Yes, as your daily. 488 GTB as your special sports car to excite you.
Good car...but.....not this time
It's obvious you havent been in either
I have the 991 TS but would still like the 488 too!
If I had to have only one car for everything, I'd get the Turbo. Magnificent.
Good vid, too, guys.
At any given time, a 911 Turbo S will always be one of the fastest car in the road. Rain or Shine.
is this based on opinion ? put them on a track and lets see what the Ferrari got , but if its about everyday practicality and overall daily usibility the best supercar for daily use is well known to be the 991 turbo S .
If passion drive you, go to the Ferrari.
If rationality drive you, go to the Porsche.
Great review by the best presenter. I really respect this man’s opinion. The Turbo S takes no crap from any car. It’s the standard by which all other super cars are measured by.
thank you. and oh.... More videos with Steve, please.
on the porsche the flappy pedals are on the wheel which is way better
if you'd know how to drive a car properly you'd know that you don't shift while cornering because of the weight transfer. sooo actually it's better in the ferrari where they are stationary but hey believe what you want(:
South4153 Sebastian Vettel knows how to drive a car and he said he prefers pedals on the wheel.
+coawler oz "he said he prefers them" does that make it better then? wow what a good point
South4153 his opinion is worth more than yours
+coawler oz only problem is i was talking facts not opinions. learn how to argue
The only thing wrong with the Ferrari is you need your own break down truck.
the music in this video is very nice
please may anyone tell me what is it?
pleaaaaase
The Porsche is like your wife. The Ferrari is like your trophy wife!
Vote for 488 GTB.
This was not a REVIEW, it was just super bias opinions on the Ferrari and a stat sheet for the Porsche. Just wrong.
+Anthony Adams Sutcliffe did a great job, other guy nah
Great review of two great cars.
You can trust Steve Sutcliffe, this guy has a lot of knowledge about sports cars, that's why he chose the best one!!
488 driver.. Spare me, you bloody chap...
Yes of course Porsche 911 turbo s is a nice car...But it's nicer to see it through Ferrari's mirror =D
Ferrari is the Supercar !!!
fede grass lol turbo is much faster
The Porsche is the Gentlemen of the Supercars. BUT: The Turbo S always brings his power and performance on the asphalt, all year round in every season.
fede grass turbo s better
Bulletproof my arse! porsche reliability is usually towards the bottom in reliability surveys.
www.whatcar.com/news/honda-named-uks-reliable-used-car-manufacturer-2015/
+asianskywalker
It's statements like this that made others, specially Porsche fans, to actually believe in this "perfect Porsche quality". But we know better.
Same thing are also happened with McLaren,Ferrari,Lambo, and other exotics...
true but the japanese manage to make not only fast but reliable cars too e.g Honda NSX, Toyota supra, Nissan Skyline. All have proven to they can handle high mileages without breaking down all the time.
Porsche traditionally is among the most reliable brands...especially compared to other super cars.
WHERE IS THE DRAG RACE ? Come on guys...
Ferrari over everything. Shouldn't be compared to the other cars.
+Marietto You're right because other cars are more reliable and don't set themselves on fire.
John Ryan Fire is the blood of Ferrari's heart. LOL
They wouldn’t even let people test their laferrari against mclaren and Porsche because they are cowards who knew their best car wasn’t in the same league as the 918 and P1. Cowards
I'd much rather have a full spec Turbo S cabriolet, than a bog standard 488 GTB.
whats the specific name of the blue color on this Porsche?
Does anyone know what is the song in the background?
I'd have the Porsche. I want a car to drive, not to look at and worry about the milage.
Both brands have better, non-turboed models however.
you are going to worry about the Porsche milage as well. Its also a very expensive car like the Ferrari...
+ionianfalcon Ferrari owners are very weird about mileage & color. That's why they are all in the same ugly Ferrari red with 3,000 miles than something in an interesting color like say, Dino Rosso with 30,000 miles.
+Abe From an cant argue with that. Im just saying that both cars are expensive which means that even the porche owners are going to be cautious about the milage.
+ionianfalcon Well no, you wouldn't worry about mileage as much with the Porsche. You don't worry about the mileage just because "the car is expensive".
If one has money to buy a car like this 911, or 488, then the mileage is one of last thins on their mind.
The 488 is a large step backwards from the 458...sorry but the 911 Turbo S is ahead in every aspect.
+tigerinsofia
In what aspects? Design? drivers car? Drama? Excitement? Agility? Special?
Sorry but most people pay all that money to get a sports car that thrills them, not one that is "practical", or to use as a "daily". And something that is special and makes them feel special when driving it. Not a car that looks like any other of the 10-12 models that most can't see the difference between them. And a modern sports car that has such a harsh ride in 2016? Sure it can be used daily. For 2 days before your back gives up.
this video its 5 years old ,,,time flyes by so fast
Does anyone know were these roads are
porsche was getting under my skin, i can tell!!!
That Multipla though
Bruh what the fuck is up with that Multipla 😅😅😅
Ferrari nel cuore.. Ferrari forever !!
Did the lip fall off or was that a different clip? at :35 you see the turbo S lip...then you dont.
beachy head road sussex love it up there bloody bumpy though down to the lighthouse. but the twisty bits are awesome fun love it
I'd go for the Ferrari hands down as it's just a touch more special and the Porsche however is just well a 'Porsche' just doesn't have that wow factor like the Ferrari does imo..
It might not have the wow factor when you look at it. But after driving them back to back you will have your wow-factor handed to you by the Turbos speed.
Which turbo? They are both turbos, which means neither will ever sound as good as a normally aspirated engine and a Porsche 6 cylinder will never sound like a Ferrari, even the subdued turbo. They both perform great, so it comes down to wow factor and a Ferrari never has its wow factor handed to it, while the 911 continues to be the same stretched out Beatle it has always been.
Rick Pihl Well one of these cars is actually called 'Turbo' so it is obvious which car I'm reffering to. Besides that, the Porsche is faster than the Ferrari in every measurable instance. Objectively the Porsche is the better car. If you base your car buying decision soley on looks and sound you just buy to show off. If thats the case, the Ferrari will definatly fit you better. I'm not saying the Ferrari is slow, or even a bad car because it is simply not. But the Porsche is just faster.
To say the Porsche is somehow measurably faster is to count tenths of seconds that will never change the experience of the lighter feel of the Ferrari compared to the heavy feel of the 911. No real world test will favor either cars performance in any major way, it comes down to the driver in every case. Objectively, they are too close to call in performance and the difference is not enough to choose the ugly 911 over the Italian piece of art and yes, the sound makes all the difference in the world and the 911 sounds like a vacuum cleaner. I will say that the turbo has also ruined the Ferrari compared to the 458, but not nearly as much as how the turbo compromises the flat six.
Rick Pihl You're a little biased I think. The Porsche is not ugly but it doesn't try to be a beauty queen either. You're right, the Ferrari is pretty. But the Porsche follows one simple philosophy wich is form follows function. And if you think about it, that makes a lot of sense. Ever sat in a 911? The dropping hood in the front and the realtively big windows give such good visibility, especially on track. Also, Porsches all-wheel-drive system allows the 911 Turbo to reach up to its full potential come rain or shine. The Ferrari is a nice second car but the Porsche is a first car, one that one drives every day. You also gotta take into account that the Turbo is Porsches Grand Tourismo type 911, layed out for Autobahn comfort and sheer speed. If you want a raw car from Porsche, buy a GT3 (RS). And that one provides plenty of lovely sounds.
Both awesome but i would pick the Ferrari. There is something in it.
Would love to see a drag race
Does my head in Autoexpress always use Nm for torque figures, ffs have to get my calculator out to convert it to something I understand
488 but only because that porsche is not a gt2.
+karim kovalenko GT2 literally murders anything that's not a P1, LaFerrari, or 918.
+VirusTornado Including the driver.
LOL! The GT-2=widow maker.
***** GT2RS is actually quicker than a Carrera GT
***** oh widow maker
The 488 GTB is so much more special than the Porsche that I could never take 911 Turbo S over it, altough I respect the engineering of the Turbo S very much. Porsche is a mainstream comany making few hundred thousands of cars every year, with Macans, Cayennes etc. They use Audi parts including engines, the Ferrari compared to this is a company from another planet. If I would be going to spend circa 250-300k euros on a car it has to make me feel very special so it's a 488 GTB for me.
Ferrari use Fiat parts... I'd rather take Audi parts than Fiat ones.
+storck08 lol.. Porsche is mainstream? for who ? for the 1% of the 1% ? last time I checked not too many people can afford 100k+ cars .. you might be confusing a preowned Cayenne V6 with a brand new 911 Turbo S.. and btw, a 911 Turbo will eat alive on daily drivabillity AND performance on track cars that are double the price from very exotic names .. speaking of exotics, what do you drive if Porsche is so mainstream ?
+far num 100k+? Macan starts at less than 55k and other cars from that price range will be added to Porsche lineup in the future years.
+storck08 They don't use audi engines, that's lamborghini
+Wahab .Goldsmith (MrTTBiggestFan) Yes, they do. V6 turbo is the engine used in Audi and in Porsche. Diesel engines used in Porsche are also from the VAG.
No drag race or track battle?
I never realized Ferrari seats could be moved that close to the steering wheel 😆
i drove the 488 two days ago... its a fantastic and beautiful car! anyway... id take the turbo s :) its just a more practical car
+Mister911 cool story bra
It's unlikely that if you get the 488 is gonna be your only car.
+Mister911
So you take practical over beauty and excitement? In a supercar? Btw, the boot of that 488 is bigger than 911T boot. And a harsh ride is not exactly what you want in a "practical" car.
+Fast Er its my opinion. i own a 911 (997) and i can use it for almost everything. i dont think you can use the 488 every day. or... i dont think i WOULD use it every day. to be honest, the rarri is the better looking car but thats it.
+Mister911 whats ur job because i would love to afford a supercar
FYI- The 'boot' of the 488 is almost twice as big as the Turbo S. You definitely got that wrong.
I have a 458 and a Turbo S and EVEN the 458's boot is almost twice as big as the Turbo S. It's just a long standing wives tale.
Agreed Steve - and it's not such a show off - if you had it in a grey it would beautifully discreet. A great car to hop in and drive to the south of france in on a whim.
y'all do more vs than motortrend y'all will be the best
Forza Ferrari
Let's wait for the GT2 RS: Turbocharged, aero-kit, RWD, lightweight
+eins Yeah, lets wait. Because it'll struggle against the future 488 "speciale".
(or whatever Ferrari is going to call their hardcore 488 GTB version after f355 edition fiorano, f360 challenge stradale, f430 scuderia and 458 speciale...)
Just like it "struggles" against the normal 488. Just for your info..it's the faster car already.
kraenk12
Oh really?
If "faster" in your world actually means slower, then yes. In any other case: No.
488 GTB
top speed: 206mph
1/4 mile: 10.3 secounds
0-100mph 6.1 secounds
0-200km/h 8.3 secounds
0-300km/h 25.6 secounds
turbo s
top speed: 204mph
1/4 mile 10.5 secounds
0-100mph 6.5 secounds
0-200km/h 9.4 secounds
0-300km/h 30.2 secounds
At higher speed the Ferrari leaves the awd beetle for dead.
Just for your info.
+alfisti93 Excellent post!
In Aere Edificare
Sarcasm? I like ;)
+Auto Express, how would the Maclaren 570GT compare, if you added that to the mix? The Maclaren and the Porsche are my favourite cars of this category, the Porsche wins for practicality again, but I'm guessing the carbon mono-tub gives the Maclaren a nicer ride.
anyone know why the UK journalists cars for Ferrari it's FNE & Porsche it's Hul noticed this with other test cars with these two companies.
Im with Steve the porsche is Just Windows maker it's has the power to pull the univers
Which one? Ferrari for sure...!!!
Supercar Advocates nah Porsche.
I'd have no problems taking the Porsche, it's beautiful, powerful, and a genuine daily driver with class, and smile creation on tap.
No track time? :(
Why do they always say for special occassions when it comes to the Ferrari? So its not an everyday car then? You buy a car to drive and love. Not just to take out every now and then so on that note Ferrari loses to every car out there and IS NOT the every day car!
A real stupid mentality filters through the car world!
+sw1000xg Because most insurance companies will only cover a few thousand miles a year on cars like Ferrari. If you go over the limit they won't cover the costs of an accident
You can use it everyday and run 20.000 kilometers a year with it.
But do you even imagine what the running costs are?
There's a class of people who can afford to buy such cars and use them moderately.
Then if you are a multi - millionaire I agree with you, no reason to not use it all the time.
Not sure if you know this, but Ferraris have a reputation of catching fire or breaking down when you least expect it. That's why it's not an everyday car.
You can drive the Turbo S forever and it'll never fail you.
TURBO S!!
Awesome!
Ferrari of course, just for that sound!!!
it's sad that they couldn't REALLY compare them...most likely a stipulation made by Ferrari, smh.
as much as i like the 911 turbo S the 488 GTB simply beats it in near every way. now with that said i do still prefer the turbo and Porsche name plate over that of the Ferrari
+justin bouche with the porsche you get more for the money
+Mhunter Rhunter well thats always the answer, but at the end of the day whatever you choose will be compared to the Ferrari if you like american cars and you want a super car, you would pick the corvette Z06 or viper, if you like german super cars you would go with the R8 or Turbo S, if you like British super cars you would go with the Mclaren 570s or 650s, if you like Japanese super cars you would go NSX or GTR, but no matter which you choose they will always be compared to the Ferrari.
+Mhunter Rhunter how often do you get to say that :)
+Mhunter Rhunter I think if someone is buying these cars they don't give a shit about money lol
+justin bouche youre are not fan of 911. Because real fan would never write such bullshit like Ferrari beats Porsche so0mewhere. BEcause that's not true.
Is it only me who wants to know the name of this amazingly narrow beautiful road location ? Or name ?
I'll take the 488 GTB all day everyday! What a gorgeous machine!
Well......I drove both since I wrote the above. Both great machines.....for real life. I've changed my mind. I'll take the Porsche instead!
I will take ferrari
amazing cars!!but i prefer the 488!!
Proper verdict
Love the sponge haha:)
people say the 911 is an everyday sports car but they rarely use it as such....and it's overtly stiff ....enjoy life, get the Ferrari
+IIproductionsII of course u see more 911s, they make unlimited variants, start under 100k, various dealerships and production isn't capped like Ferrari. Point is although an amazing piece of engineering, it's not a Camry and if you really want to have fun behind the wheel, the Ferrari is the way to go. reliability and servicing is expensive on both
+IIproductionsII they aren't more reliable, they seem more reliable. older Ferraris had annoying service intervals while Porsches didn't but they've had their share of issues. You can match the sound and sense of occasion of a Ferrari. Porsche is good for a semi everyday sports cars.
+Davide F. Porsche says 70% of all the cars they have ever made is alive and kicking. I mean, from the very 1st car they made to today's cars. Now that's reliability.
I could argue that a Corvette is more affordable, easier to maintain, cheaper to run. These are passion cars. People tend to take care of them
I think we have way too much Corvette talk and way too much GTR talk on CZcams.
