    Hey my friends! Today, we're living a day in the life of my fat loss approach that I explained in my video 'How to Lose Fat + Keep it Off // How Metabolism Works'. In that video I expanded on the type of calorie deficit, workouts, and general mindset I would recommend and this is what that routine would look like for me. My last fat loss phase was a year or so ago and I've been focussed more on strength building since.
    Everybody and every body is different. Please remember this is about the overall mindset and thinking: my exact numbers won't work for you. Study yourself and your body, and work with a Registered Dietitian if you want exact, personalised nutrition guidance. This is all about the high level approach, and as a reminder that heavy calorie deficits and hating the process aren't needed (:

      you literally cannot imagine how happy I am for you. you deserve every last bit of it, because pushing through recovery is hard and having the patience and discipline to do it all the way I try to encourage is hard too when there's so much noise and false promising. I hope you grow and grow and grow and look back and feel so damn proud of yourself because that's honestly what you deserve.

    I used to be a training gymnast but after suffering from depression for the last ten years I haven't been able to motivate myself for any exercise. I started watching natacha after another youtuber recommend her channel and I have been training in the gym for the last two weeks consistently.     Thanks for this!! I’m trying to lose fat but I’ve struggled with disordered eating in the past. Counting calories was always a trigger for me, but seeing things in scientific terms and prioritizing health and body function has been so helpful!! 💖

    I'm probably not your typical viewer, my daughter is. She's got me watching you. I'm 55 need new knees(have for 13 years) and now my doctors want me to quickly loose 45#. I am working out with a personal trainer 3 times a week and I'm building muscle. Now I'm being encouraged by a couple of medical personnel to use a medication to help me loose the weight. I like your approach and just hearing you be positive is making me think I can eventually get there. I really struggle to even walk, but I will get there. Meeting a new doctor this week and hoping he is more realistic. Keep up the good work.

      Hey I just saw your comment. I’m a PT & train a lot of clients in a similar position to you, honestly keep going and don’t be tempted to lose weight quickly. It’s sad hearing that doctors are pressuring you to lose weight fast AND use medication. The fact you found this video is a sign your intuition knows what’s best. For the longevity of your health. Keep going for the long haul ❤

I am a big stickler on form and hate seeing demonstrations where it's off 🙈 having said that I actually slipped in the rain here and sprained my ankle so there's one movement where I felt a little off and you can spot it at a certain point and it bugs me but it's okay 😂 happy moving!! happy to hear you are thinking about form!

    Your videos are the best. Teaching lifestyle instead of crash dieting. And even when you said you stopped working out for a while bc you said it wasn’t adding to your life. I’m in my last semester of nursing school and don’t get to workout as much as I would like bc of how busy it is and utterly exhausted I am, so it’s nice to hear that not working out as much is okay when it does the opposite of what it should.       Sarah ❤‍🔥 that whole thing you said about last semester and being exhausted and focussing on one thing: that was exactly me during undergrad finals. I think what you are doing sounds absolutely perfect if it just feels right for right now. It's not going to hold back your long-term progress, in fact it may accelerate it because you'll come back to fitness with more appreciation, more energy and more fire. You're doing great and good luck with that last semester! You want to look back and know you did the best you could so let's do it! ❤‍🔥

    I have degenerative disk. Disease in the base of my spine from the middle down, i used to Weigh 55 kilos n was a gym freak had a c section then ended up Paralyzed n diagnosed 4 yrs later, started watching these videos n have been doing her workouts for months now, from 105 kilos to 91 kilos in 2 months, girl you are saving my life, my health, and my 4 yr old now has a mum who consistently works out instead of sitting on a couch looking as if her life ended.     Just wanted to pop into the comments and say THANK YOU! I love your science-based approach to fitness and training. I started Build.Reload at the end of 2022. I'm on Week 8, making amazing progress in the gym, feeling super confident in my strength and agility, and properly fueling my body after being in a caloric deficit for FAR too long. I'm going to be 40 this year, and I've honestly never felt better or been more at peace with my body and mindset.     Natacha, I can't tell you how much I connected with the last bit under mindset. The past 3 months had been off months for me as well. I used to beat myself as to why I didn't wanna exercise and with my diet too I was really liberal. Still, I couldn't get myself to do it, plus the new year was also overwhelming for me so I didn't train in January. watching this video and realizing that it was ok to feel that way was such a relief that I am again inspired to get back and not feel guilty about my break.     You are such a treasure! This video literally came at the right time! I have been in a rut since 2020 - (gained a lot of body fat / lost muscle after coming off of strict Keto and rigorous Barre Pilates regime to prep for my wedding in 2019). Then pandemic totally changed my lifestyle (I became super sedentary, & no longer had motivation). Since I also came from a soccer & ballet background growing up, this change made me feel bad about myself. I often get intermittent "spurts" of motivation and go HARD, then of course as times goes on, fall off lol. Your channel literally reminds me to not cut out entire food groups, take things slow, be consistent (not militant), and be kind to myself/give myself grace. I started implementing the process you have described 3 weeks ago, and while results have been subtle so far - this video encourages me to keep going!     I have been watching your videos for a few years now and your perspective/mentality on how to tackle health not just physically but also mentally is something I really look up to. It has changed my goals of aiming to be "skinny" to 'I want to be strong af, health, and happy" with looking better as just a byproduct. The past few years, health and fitness went from me being miserable with no energy to high energy, happy, strong, and most importantly SUSTAINABLE.

    Can I just say I love you and Thank you. The emotional battle of trying to restore your health can be so overwhelming at times and often feels so lonely. Practically every video you make like this causes me to get teary eyed. Thank you so much for speaking about sustainability and about the ups and downs over instant results. It took me almost 37 years to destroy my health so I can not expect to turn it around in 30 days. I have to do things I know I can(and will) do for the rest of my life.

    Thank you for this! For three (maybe four) months our now 19 month old completely regressed in the sleep department. I went from 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep or only interrupted once briefly for a feed to an average of 4 hours a night.
    I am EXHAUSTED so exercise has been the first to go. I’ve still been smart with food, but it’s nice to hear that life gets in the way for even the fittest of people.

    I know everyone's journey is different and we should all do what works best for ourselves, I've started being more active a month ago mainly because I needed to stop or minimize at least my complicated relationship with food and exercise kept my mind off things and helped my anxiety, also setting myself a goal and keeping up with it for a whole month made me feel accomplished.
    Overall I eat pretty healthy except for certain moments when I feel like a rush of anxiety invades me and I sort of lose control. My goal is basically to lose fat and build muscle, which is why my workouts are resistance training based and I do my cardio last.
    I try to listen to my body when training because progress is not a straight line it has its ups and downs and I don't expect to see results so soon but sometimes it's discouraring not knowing if what I'm doing is right or not.
    This video was very helpful though, especially the part where you talk about the calorie deficit regarding food and how it's more about fueling your body with foods that are richer in nutrients rather than to reduce the amount.
    Also I love the energy and vibe you give through your videos, you seem such a lovely person!

      not all is lost! take your time, give yourself some space to come back gently and remember that a binge is highly likely a sign that something is off. I say that from personal experience: I under fuelled and had too many restrictions around food at a point and it's the only time in my life that I binged. Proud of you, I know you've got it 🤍

    Your timing is so great. Just this morning I was looking for more advise from you exactly on this topic and now, here it is. Thank you so much!
    Your mentality and attitude towards the whole process is always so refreshing, science-based and compassionate towards yourself. I really struggle with the mindset as I have roughly two decades of using dieting and working out as punishments. Reducing the intake by only 10% seems so low that it could not possibly matter. I know that it will if I manage to be consistent but my instinct is still rather to skip a day of eating and have everything happen magically overnight than putting in the work continuously.
    Every time I fall back into that trap I watch a variety of your old videos and read through the cut program guide again to keep myself from making harmful decisions. Especially your comment on the journey of Will Smith was so helpful for me. "It does not have to be this hard."
    Also, thank you so much for pointing out the aspect of planning for going of plan. I am great at planning meticulously for month at a time but if an unforeseen event happens in a day or two I am screwed. And life always happens...
    Thank you for putting out all these important messages with a focus on sustainability and on enriching the life rather than depriving myself.
    Your smile makes me feel so comfortable and helps me not give up again right away. Thank you so much for everything you do!

    So glad you talked about going off plan, for December the goal was to just not gain weight (who tries to loose weight over Christmas, right?), goal achieved. January was supposed to be a super focused ‘catch up’ month, instead, I gave myself a massive sugar addiction and sat on the sofa for 5 weeks. 😂 Today I’m back I the groove! 🎉

      I’m doing her restart program at the moment and even though it’s got a week-by-week structure you can follow it at your own pace. And I’ve never really done any consistent weight training. So if you like her vibe I’d really recommend 🥰👌. Good luck with your recovery!

      It's really impressive to see how you challenge yourself, it really is inspiring.
      I'm sorry you've had a tough time though. It's true, we all need to take time out and press the pause button sometimes. I once heard a saying that has stuck with me: Gratitude nullifies negativity.
      When I've found I'm having a bad time of things, I make a real concerted effort to think of anything (great or small) each day, that I can be grateful for. I find it really helps my headspace over time. It could be anything like a starry night, a friends kind word, the smile of a stranger.
      Of course it's not a perfect solution on its own, there's definitely bigger things at play, but definitely helps nudge us in the right direction. 🥰
      I'm so glad you're feeling more positive again. From one stranger to another: well done. Smiling in your direction! ☺️ X
