I am one of the people that is very set in my ways. I haven't added to my music collection in a decade. I added Hu, I was blown away. They are phenomenonal. The blend of Eastern and Western just screams, "Welcome to the 21st century!" Global unity is possible, music is the gateway.

I have never understood or liked heavy metal bands, but these guys I understand. This is primitive, primordial, ancient and comes from the innate being, so glorious. Oh, and I'm a 75 year old former hippie.

It is incredible how well fits the throat singing with the metal music and adding the folk cultural elements it's just astonishing. Really I'm glad I discovered this because this is probably one of the best combinations I've heard in music.

The sound was insane! Crisp, clear, punchy as f**k. The boomy bass and drum sound. AWESOME - heavy heavy HEAVY. What an incredible live band The HU is. They are playing in Norway in a months time, would love to see them live

Flew from Singapore to KL to catch their little concert in Malaysia at a small venue just before Covid travel restrictions. I was just 2 metres away from the stage. 😂 could literally touch them.

You should listen to more metal music; this is a band called 'Suffocated', and is one if the top metal bands in China - sung in Mandarin - it's just as great metal, if not *more metal* than folk-metal style of The Hu. Well done The Hu I'm proud for being The Batak tribes as one parts of the Mongolian descendants bloodlines in Indonesia placed in North Sumatera. The Mongolian Indonesian descendants mostly placed in North Sumatera and Sulawesi. I'm a fan of Rammstein and you sounds like Rammstein...hell yea The Hu.

I found this band a couple of years ago by accident . I was very impressed with their energy and history .

I am extremely glad there is a real mongolia outside of China, cuz this kinda of authentic minority folk music is not encouraged, even might be banned in China, the government does not want your own identity, thats why they banned kids from learning mongolian language, a few mongolian history books even got banned these days

Je ne suis pas spécialement un fan de métal mais le mélange avec les instruments traditionnels et le chant guttural est génial.
Ça fait quelque temps que je regarde les clips du groupe et je ne suis jamais déçu.

was lucky enough to see these guys live in a fairly small club , what a night one of the best shows I've ever seen in my sixty plus years .

I mean, just play them side-by-side with the studio version - they're pretty much identical. This is clearly not truly live, but live footage with studio audio or some derivative thereof.
@@Dealman15 I was very puzzled how it was so clear and kept looking for clues to say it was just recorded. The might have some sound triggers or something. Their set at Glastonbury was also very polished
It's almost as if they didn't have three 100 watt distorted guitars to deal with lol. Sounds so killer!
@@lastoftheurgents1965 Yeah a lot of shows do playback these days and there's nothing really wrong with it. You're there to see the band perform, whether they need to use playback or not I couldn't care less about. It's still a performance. :)
And yes they can easily have their 'real live vocals' jump in and out to give it more of a live performance feel.
@@Dealman15 I saw them in Mexico. They play just like that live, no tracks or anything. The only problem here in Mexico was that where I was, sounds like the flute and thorat singing weren't loud enough, so yeah, everything was live. If it was a recording, they could've fixed that. I'm not saying they haven't done it or they wouldn't do it, It just wasn't my experience. One of the best bands I've seen live.

I saw them play in person they sounded exactly the same as they do recorded. It was magical.
I got to see The Hu perform at Aftershock Festival 2019. I do not speak Mongolian as I am an Irish-American, but damn was it a great show. The Hu is one of the best live bands I have seen perform. I would love to see them tour with bands like Heilung as well, the Throat Singing makes everything so much more. It has a chilling war chant feeling. It makes me want to get a bunch of Celts together and start something like this. Preserve the ancient cultures of our world in some way.
What is "throat singing"?If it is like what eastern monks do using their vocal chords together in amazing ways,then I haven't t heard it yet in their songs.

@@genevieve396 It is. There are three styles really, Khoomei, Sygyt, and then Kargyraa (the low growly one) which is the technique that Tibetan Buddhists do when they chant. It is the same because the Oirat Mongols are the ones who taught Tibetans to "throat sing" when the Dzungars took hold of Tibet and a lot of Mongols converted into Buddhism incorporating their culture into the religion.

Using traditional Mongolian instruments to create music and rock and roll. Proof rock is not dead thanks to groups like The Hu. Just growing and becoming something new and exciting. Love they have so many in the band and singing together like they do. Hellfest should have them back every year. They got great songs. And sound really good live too.
