Funny enough that's actually a suggested countermeasure, to release the super-heated water around it that forms the geysers into the main body of magma to cool it off

Bro when I was in SEVENTH GRADE they made us watch the YellowStone documentary movie the DAY BEORE CHRISTMAS BREAK. That was 9 years ago and I'm still traumatized.

I thought Yellowstone was considered an active volcano (the volcano driving the geysers and hot springs and so on).
I lived about an hour away from the park for about 10 years (Bozeman,MT)! We would always bullshit bout it blowing up any day lol.
I also thought that the volcano had an “instead mortality” range of about 1,000 miles. Just think about that... everything within 1,000 miles is instantly gone!

This is dependent on how serous the eruption is though
An eruption that's worth noting would be a large scale one. It's unlikely to erupt with anything in the middle range it's either so small it reliefs pressure or completely explodes.
The Yellowstone volcano is an all or nothing volcano. When it erupts, it’s going to be this serious.
