Funny fact Tim, Audi does not allow you to check tire pressures unless you have an RS model. Whoever thought that was a great design needs to be burned alive. - your fellow Audi service advisor.

it is because they don't have actual tire sensors like the RS models. It uses the brakes to calculate the tire pressure by the resistance.

If you can feel the air coming out, your tire will be completely flat in a matter of minutes.

Sounds like when I was heading to Vail Colorado from Denver airport and there is literally one bridge connecting the two and there’s a 16 wheeler blocking the whole road/no one can control their vehicles because of the snow storm. Long story short, it took 5 and a half hours for a 2 hour trip...

Depending on the year Audi Tim, it doesn't have direct pressure montioring(what you're describing "most cars" as having). Instead it monitors wheel inflation thru the driveline by figuring out if wheels are spinning at diff rates using its electronic stabilization program. So it doesnt have an alert like "ohh tire Y is at pressure X" Audi does this because they like to think of it as a performance boost by not incorporating the weight of a tmps sensor inside the wheel.

German here that drives an Audi, having a PepeLaugh with this story.
First of all, you do not need check tire pressure through digital displays, like really it is not needed. All you need to know if it loses pressure.
Then you just check your PSI rating to get the pressure info needed, most likely 33 PSI
Go to a gas station, get a tire air pump, here in Germany every gas station has a tire air pump for people to use if needed.
Also those tire air pumps ALL have a tire pressure gauge on it, so we can read the pressure while adding more air, so we can fix it.
Not sure how it works in the US.

Audi has a indirect system which will not allow you to see the pressure, keep has a direct pressure system. It all depends on the car manufacturer!!

Also, Every vehicle comes with a tire pressure gage so you can always check your tires; would be in the centre console

Probably ride flat tires. They have stiff walls so you can ride for about 20miles with no tire pressure so you can get somewhere and get a new tire or get the tire fixed

The tire pressure isn’t on the side of the tire? It usually tells you what the pressure is for the tire, and u just fill em to a few psi below the max, I never do max because I don’t wanna pop em lol
Don’t follow what the tire says, because that tire may be used on many different vehicles with different weights. Follow what the driver door jam says because it’s specific to your car

@@joshuabradberry9823 by panel I was talking about the stretch of body at the back of where the door closes. there is a sticker down by the seat about 4 inches or so up from the door sill, that has info on it like what tire pressure you should fill too and the weight of the vehicle. the sticker is standard on all vehicles.
