    Leaving us with Abbey Road and Let It Be was a great way to go out. At their best and leaving fans wanting more. The break up gave us some really good stuff as well from their solo projects but everyone including themselves knew nothing could ever touch The Beatles. They did however give us a lot in that decade. Few bands even last that long. Very special. It had to be hard for any of them to walk away from the most successful rock band ever.

    I like this dudes stern delivery. He could sing "octopus garden" and it would hit like "I want you/She's so heavy"

    After John quit, the other 3 guys reunited in Jan 1970 to record the Song I Me Mine at Abbey Road. That was the very last Beatles recording session.

      @gretschviking Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yup but there was one more session after which featured a Beatle! April 1st or 2nd, Phil Spector recorded his lavish orchestral overdubs with Ringo on drums. Kind of weird and cool that Starr was the last one to be involved with a Beatles session.

      @@gretschviking Ringo seems the only one who would have been fine going on granted I think Paul wanted too but business crap got in the way. We know John and George were really wanting to do their own thing and felt Paul was kinda taking over.. which he reluctantly was by the end.

      I should say after Epstein's death Paul really became the driving force even though it was technically always Johns band.

      So John, resenting Paul, quit and let Yoko take over.

  • @johncena3912
    @johncena3912 Před 4 měsíci +11

    Yoko really changed john. 1964/65 john is a completely different person. They dont even look like the same person. Just try to imagine (lol) 1965 john lennon doing 1969 john shenanigans. Cant picture it

    John wanted peace and quiet for the wedding but for the honeymoon he wanted the press....

    Imagine finally getting the Beatles in your grasp and they break up. But Paul was right about Klein. Even the others admitted it. And Clapton wasn't going to hang around with that nonsense long

    • @whichgodofthousandsmeansno5306
      @whichgodofthousandsmeansno5306 Před 4 měsíci +1

      Oh yeah... Klein must have been wigging out but it was too late. John was long done and Paul wasn't about signing the deal granted I do feel Paul would have never been the one to break up the band. Heck, all other 3 had walked out one time or another but Paul never did. He just announced it when he realized it was really over.

    Somebody else probably already mentioned that the Plastic Ono Band performance in Canada was in Toronto not Montreal, but also I just watched a film about it for the first time a week or so ago. The film is called "Revival 69: The Concert That Rocked the World", it's excellent. Overall, very good clip here friend, thanks. 🤘🎶

    In 1969, John Lennon realised
    that he, and The Beatles,
    were public property
    and therefore,
    rather than continue being viewed and perceived as they were presented by their corporate business structures, HE would present himself
    as HE saw fit…
    You could say
    that Yoko influenced him
    in all this but,
    as time goes by,
    it becomes apparent that
    he used her presence
    as a shield as much as
    she used his presence
    as a way of becoming famous…
    Marriage is as marriage does?
    You know it ain’t easy…

    Who's gear is in the background ?
    I'm curious about the Yellow or Tweed Cabinet in the bottom right corner. Looks like it has an opening on the top like a Vibratone but it's too short to be one unless it was modified or something else

    John did too much LSD... been there... but I at least didn't turn to heroin or Oh No. Plastic Oh No Band in T.O. was comical... and then sad. We all just sat there with our jaws-a-hanging (Clapton included)

    Paul announced the Beatles were officially over not John

    • @whichgodofthousandsmeansno5306
      @whichgodofthousandsmeansno5306 Před 4 měsíci +2

      Yes, Paul was the one to announce it but John was the one who ended it. Heck he has been quoted saying he was done with the whole Beatles thing by the White Album but Paul held it together. We still got great stuff but we did with their solo stuff too.

      @whichgodofthousandsmeansno5306 Před 4 měsíci +1

      That is true but by the end Paul had reluctantly taken control as is displayed in the recent documentary. I for one feel the break up was a good thing as if any members stayed in just for the money or fans the music could have suffered. But they left us with Abbey Road and Let It Be.. not too shabby and then onto very successful solo projects.

    you rather think brian was made best man at john's and ringo's weddings so as not to make the others feel slighted.
