Even the city of Liverpool played a role in their success by being a port and receiving records from the US by boat crew...
Genius.
AT 2.28 we see Billy playing the guitar right handed and we all know Paul is left handed don't we?
great video!
Another impressively researched & edited documentary.
Perhaps the most shameful thing Mike Love ever did was cowardly have one of his brothers and another man beat Dennis within an inch of his Life recounted in the brilliant biography by S tephen Gaines Heroes and villains.
Ginger Baker never gets any credit for bringing Paul and wings to fucking Lagos. You could even see in the footage that he’s sitting right next to Paul.
Fully agree with your review, perhaps there will be a Doc 2.
Wow. This video is so comprehensive! I'm super impressed. Withnail and I is my all time favorite movie. Great video! Chin chin.
The Beatles are a bunch of dungent, make no mistake about it 🖕🖕🖕🖕

To me, Anton (BJM in general) seems to personify the words of Bukowski! If you’re going to try, go all the way! 🎶
I'm hoping they'll be a follow up, covering the latter days.
Such a sad ending
.4% BAC. She was doomed.
I agree. They left so much out. A documentary about The Beach Boys deserves to be 3 hours in length or more. Brian’s 1st number 1 Surf City isn’t mentioned.
Landy saved Brian's life, then almost killed him.
Honestly, this should have been a multi-part mini series in order to cover more about this great band. Absolutely nothing new, and did seem to be a one sided presentation. Very disappointed, and they deserved better.
There was already an indirect connection between Frank Marshall and the Beach Boys before this documentary. Frank's father Jack wrote television themes such as "The Munsters Theme," and also the theme for the short-lived sitcom "Karen," sung by the Beach Boys: czcams.com/video/j3o_3iXfKR4/video.html
Saw The Beach Boys September 21, 1964 in concert with Brian, Dennis, Carl, Mike, and Al onstage wearing red and white striped shirts. Played at the Civic Coliseum in Knoxville, TN. Fabulous performance!
Mike gave himself too much credit.
You know Disney, only wanna show the good parts and leave out the rest. It was good til I heard Kokomo
I'm wondering, the bodyguard checked her at 10:30 am. The video says an ambulance crew member noticed rigor mortis around 4:00 pm. Would she have been dead by 10:30 am-I don't know.
Watch The Love & Mercy documentary it's much much better. ✨
Yep agreed 100 percent I wanted more
John, George and Ringo: You are not to put out your McCartney album at the same time we’re putting out Let It Be.
Thumbs down for the click-bait title!
california dreaming is the best song of the sixtys, it defined the hippy movement that was in full swing. Also in the 60's california was the place to be unlike today.
Band imploded due to sexual trysts, drug addiction & inflated egos.
Wanted to see the surviving members singing together on the beach at the end at it was indicated. Very disappointed it was not shown.
Paul “ it sold, it was great, it was the bloody Beatles White album, shut up”! 👏👏👏👏
I love Beatles music and they had a great chemistry but with the amount of fame and admiration they all received it was bound to creep in to their egos causing some problems that in the past might have been a minor thing now was something to blow up in their face. Ive never been famous but ive been in a family and had to deal with one. Its sad that family members can give you the most love but also be the ones to treat you the worst or vice versa.
Brian LSD breakdowns & exploitive therapy were excruciating. Thank Christ, he survived.
What is amazing to me is that despite all of the troubles , adversities , and personal disagreements that the Beatles started going through after their manager and friend Mr. Brian Epstein passed away in late 1967 they continued to write and produce so many great songs and Albums. 1968's double album officially titled The Beatles but universally known as The White Album , 1969's Abbey Road Album , and their last album named Let It Be released in April 1970 contains some of the greatest music that the Beatles ever recorded. Much of the events described in this video i have heard or read about before except for this confrontation between Paul and John on June 14th in the halls of EMI. I never heard that Paul accused John of undermining the Beatles and being childish.
Mike love is a piece of crap
when these bands stop putting their lives on Disney then ill watch
Why is everyone surprised at the failure of this “definitive” documentary… …to be anywhere near definitive. It’s 2024. Attention Span… …came up and went.
For me it’s about 2 episodes short. Good start but yes there’s much left out.
I’m in love with her balenciaga fluro green shoes and her vocals ❤
The Lonely Sea is my most favorite song by the Beach Boys. Brian's voice is beautiful! ❤
I just saw Back to Black!I have always loved Amy-she died of a broken heart imo-loosing her Nan and Blake was too much for her,the actress that portrayed her was soo good
Pure brilliance!
I read that after John became successful, his father came to him for some money and John helped his father.
The Doc. did give us an intimate look at Carl and Dennis but totally ignored their tragic death. Instead they just gave us a death notice at the end. I thought that was strange.
I agree with you mate. Way too short, Endless Harmony Doc was way better.
I wish I had been around the London scene in the mid-late 1960s (I was born in the early 70s). Brian needed another taffy musician around to keep him grounded. I am also a Jones, and play multiple instruments and I am well-educated. I would have given him a place to be accepted and taught him how to speak his native tongue. Nos da a heddwch
I mean I love The Beach Boys but it didn’t seem like anything new, it wasn’t that good but they’re getting prettt old now and wanted to reconcile over the legacy one last time
I COULD NOT AGREE MORE WITH YOUR REVIEW!
I've heard there is no mention of Jan & Dean. They were the inspiration and Surfing was Baby Talk according to Mike Love. When Murray took the song to Capitol. Upon hearing it the exec's said "They sound just like Jan & Dean of course we'll sign them.." And Brian got a lot of studio knowledge from Jan Berry in including Jan being the reason not Phil for using the Wrecking Crew. BTW Jan was a full time University student studying Medicine and only could Think , Write , Arrange , Produce , Record and Preform after school (usually late at night till mid morning) and weekends. If anyone wants to question his body of work compared to the other 2 .
