Metal? Don't be daft. The Blues decibelised and rockified becomes Blues Rock... then comes Hard, Prog and Psychedelic Rock. Zep had the exquisite sense to stop before Metal. Greetings from Canada- Peace, love and bellbottoms.
Hear, Hear! You are spot on, it's an insult to use Led Zeppelin and "Metal" in the same sentence.!
Robert Plant hates Zeppelin being tied too or described as "metal".
He said the finger work was pre-metal, ie: shredding that is obviously going on here?
JPJ is using foot pedals for the bass line
robert uses his voice like another instrument and jimmy makes his guitar SING, its a hell of a combination!
Agreed!
The time signatures are so complicated, that any lesser group of musicians would have fallen into comp!ete chaos.
The very definition of a super group, and for good reason.
They were absolutely magnificent!
you might want to check out I Can't Quit You Babe from the Albert Hall live performance.
One of my favorite tracks. Added!
JPJ is playing bass via pedals and electric piano simultaneously
this is worth it for the imprv intro alone!!!
Rush YYZ in Rio was mind-blowing!
I've been to over 10 Rush concerts and never experienced it at that level. That crowd in Brazil was WILD!!!! 😎🎸☮️💕
JPJ plays the bass on all Led Zep songs, using his feet ... electric piano foot pedals ... incredible !!!
Well he plays Bass on this one, Kashmir and No Quarter with his feet - when playing live. But I think that's what you meant?
@@dbclassic8733 That's correct - which make John Paul Jones the 'best' musician in Led Zeppelin (which no one mentions) !!
@@priskeships yes that's true, I think most producers and engineers that are interviewed mention it but yes generally on all these type videos people go on about Jimmy and Bonzo which is fair enough but not the whole story
Led Zeppelin live at MSG, 1973…. comment at the end of the performance… yeah good stuff, good stuff 😂 lovely
To my ear, it sounds like in many sections Bonham and JPJ are in different pockets which creates a unique flam effect.
THERE IS NO WEAK LINK TO THE HAMMER OF THE GODS!!!
"LED ZEPPELIN"
🎸☮️💕
JPJ also played the recorder on the studio version of Stairway to Heaven and he also plays mandolin as well as bass and keyboards.
From the movie song remains the same movie from msg New York 1973
Real Music....The GOATS OF ALL TIME! There will never be another! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Top man. Keep working hard.
Thanks, will do!
I'm totally baked.
love your analysis and to me all roads led to Pagey and unlike most bands the rhythm section is followed by the guitarist but In LZ case they actually followed Jimmy, even in live concerts and I was at this concert you would see Jimmy turn back to Bonzo to let him know when a change would come up, as much as I love this version I prefer the studio version which Jimmys guitar solo is mesmerizing and which he did in one take, this live version is ok but could be rather sloppy at times...just subscribed
Thanks so much for joining us! What I would give to time travel and see them in their prime, but it's great to connect with others and hear some of their experiences. I'll have to find some more good live videos to do in the future of the LED
@@breakdownlounge9541 The live version from this same concert at MSG 1973 of The Song Remains the Same/ The Rain Song is just brilliant and they have to be played in sequence...great insightful reaction by you matey
Good morning from New England..Great live version...Congrats on the book...Btw I was a full time writer signed to a regional publisher until C-19 hit then the owner closed up shop..His reasoning was why publish stuff if you couldn't go out and promote it..This was right when everything started and nobody could travel..Keep up the hard work .Maybe do a Gojira reaction... Peace ✌️
Doing the best I can, thank you for the encouragement!
@@breakdownlounge9541 Np being a writer is a very lonely job lol.. ✌️✌️
@@Brian-kl1gf psh ain't that the truth. A slow burn for eight years and then trying to figure out how to get it out into the world. Figured this channel would be one good outlet but there is still much to be done.
Great analysis. John Bonham is fantastic in the 1979 live Kashmir.
Ohh good pick. Gonna add that to my future Zep list.
jonesy played keys and then bass pedals with his feet at the same time
Makes sense. What a monster musician.
As to the pop ups. This is a relatively new video peeps have been reacting to because it's the official video and has less chance of being blocked. There is actually another older version that I have watched for maybe decades without the pop ups and is a bit different. Mostly with the video footage and a few lyrics Plant sings differently. I actually think the other version is a bit better musically but this version is better visually because we don't have an extended shot of JPJ with his bad wig playing the organ in the middle of Pages second guitar solo. LOL. he had recently got a real bad hair cut. thus the bad wig. Also, the other version, Plant starts singing immediately after Pages first solo. This version there is a slight delay before he starts singing. And there are a few other minor differences between the two.
I think the dvd this song is from is the remastered "The Song Remains the Same." As I know for a fact it's on that. But it's possible that it's on "How the West Was won" also. Because I know they did a few MSG songs on that as well and it's been awhile so I forgot if it's one of them they did. But also remember, I am talking about the other version that I mentioned above. It is possible that this version was on Htwwo and the other version was on tsrts.
Thanks for sharing! I feel like every version of what they do has something to be impressed by and learn from. Will def have to do more soon.
John Paul Jones would play the piano for the song and then play the bass lines on a different set of keys with his feet
This is a masterclass in twelve eight blues, I don't hear anything even slightly metal in anything this band does .Sabbath iron maiden many other bands may have inspired metal, these blues runs are just blues Albert Freddie King I've heard a lot of blues that sound like this .Woman across the river blues allows the player within certain parameters to do what he wants .S.R.V Gallagher Johnny winter it's a style of its own really
Amazing reaction my friend Stefan!!....You are the right expert to make this insane reaction video and give us your opinion about this insane singer...In 2017, the music world was shocked by the bursting onto the scene of a 22-year-old singer named Dimash Kudaibergen, who performed on the famous Chinese competition show for professional singers called “The Singer”... It was just it was necessary for this young man to make his first appearance, making a cover of one of the most difficult songs in the world, a famous French composition called "S.O.S. D'un Terrien En Détresse", to be considered from that moment on as the best singer in the entire planet....No one in the musical field had ever seen a human being, being able to reach vocal ranges above 7 octaves and several semitones, that is, all 88 keys of a digital piano, which reaches a little more than 7 octaves and as if that weren't enough, sing the more than 12 languages...Since then all kinds of experts (Vocal coachs, singers, musicians, analysts, singing teachers, youtubers, reactors, etc.) have dedicated themselves to reviewing their presentations to try to understand how someone can sing this way...The incredible thing is that that presentation in China was in 2017 but what Dimash has done in these 5 years is to further improve his wide vocal range, which is currently practically above of the 8 octaves... The Covid pandemic stopped his concerts worldwide, all with tickets sold in just seconds, via the internet, but at the same time it ended up catapulting him to the top of popularity worldwide...Anyway, since I think you are one of those reactors who have not yet met this impressive singer, here is the link of that presentation in China in 2017, with the song S.O.S. and I would like you to mention my name as the person who recommended him to you...You have to be prepared because your channel will explode with an avalanche of views, comments and new subscribers....I leave you one more recent video than the others, so it does not have the same number of views as the previous ones, which have millions of views, but it is a more complete video, with an intro, subtitles in several languages and with the improved quality of audio and sound....czcams.com/video/bDX3FhmyNac/video.html
thats the thing with zep, they had NO weak link! they were all steller musicians
100% agree!
The Song Remains the Same. Was the video
This is a small taste u should look at dazed and confused live from song remains the same new York Madison square garden it's 28 minutes long gd luck
I can tell you a fun little experiment. Drop some LSD and then come back and talk about Led Zeppelin.
(Starts rummaging through sock drawer)
as brilliant as this is (and it really is!!) this is NOT peak plant, his voice was almost wrecked by this gig and it was ruined after this tour by surgery that failed, hes been getting better ever since 75 though and sound great still now but that INSANE top end was gone forever
Dang I didn't know he had a vocal surgery so early on. Interesting
This is not metal! Please that crap metal is no where near this! 😡 He’s playing bass with his feet! Your a musician? Bonzo is the heart!
