    I have the original cadet 3. Works like a champ. Just installed a new fill valve and it works amazing. American standard stop putting fluidmasters in your toilets and put korkys in. It's a perfect combo

    You could bring back the older toilets from the 50s, and allow them to use 1.25 gallons.

    Just installed a couple of Cadet 3 Dual Flush - great toilets! The one in our en-suite bathroom makes a loud filling noise every few hours- only lasts about 30 seconds but enough to cause an annoyance in the middle of the night. Any ideas?

      Hello Ian - We are glad to hear that you are liking your new Cadet 3 Dual Flush toilets! We recommend giving us a call about the filling noise you are hearing so we can troubleshoot your issue. It sounds like your fill valve or flush valve seal may need replacing. Thanks!

    Thanks for not including any gaskets for my tank bolts. Guess I’ll go to Home Depot and buy some myself so my 1 day old toilet stops leaking from the tanks. Good times.

    I just installed this toilet. The tank to bowl screws are slowly leaking! I replaced the gasket with a regular washer style but that didn't help. I think it is the design of American standard gasket that slips through the bolt that is not working.
    My initial install, one bolt was fine, but one leaked. Now it's both! I've hand tightened pretty tightly, but it's still leaking. Any suggestions?? Is this covered under the 5 year warranty.

    • @americanstandard
      @americanstandard  Před 2 lety

      Hello Ryan - When installing one of the skirted design toilets, be sure to note where the water supply line is located. If the skirt interferes, relocation of the valve is required. Please also be sure to install the top mount seat supplied with the toilet as not all seats will fit properly. You can view skirted toilet installation example here: czcams.com/video/LebANJC2rx4/video.html Thanks!

      @@americanstandard Thanks for the info. Btw I installed the toilet this past weekend with no too many difficulties other than you should let the cust know that they need a 20" water line because of the height difference. I didn't realize till after the bottom was situated and could not be moved which made it really hard to change the line with the toilet in the way. Installed now and works like a charm

    • @ILVT_Plumbing

    Hello. I have very large poops. Does this accommodate slightly larger (yet human-sized) levels of poop? I would say I poop as much as a NFL linebacker after eating a large Thanksgiving dinner. Some have compared it to the size of a mid-sized black bear. Anyway, thank you. God bless American Standard Toilet.

    This video is NOT of the Cadet3 with the wrap around skirt! The design of the Cadet3 make it such a pain to access the the flange bolts. 😠😡🤬
    Having long arms help me reach around to access the plastic nuts, but to actually tightening them enough, that's another story.
    While this over all design would seem perfect for a small space, reaching around it not always possible if it is too close to the wall. Then the small access hole for the flange bolt on the side is more a medieval instrument of torture than a convenience design feature.
