A neurological study was done observing the brain response in people listening to this, and because the pleasure reaction was so extreme, it was considered the happiest song ever written. Some might dispute this now with the advent of other songs, but it's not hard to believe it could be that awesome. Thanks for your fantastic take on this!

You will never know the real meaning of a Queen song. In MANY interviews both Frieddie and Brian have said they don't tell (or do videos) about what their songs about. It is up to the listener to decide whatever they feel.

The lead guitarist is an English musician and astrophysicist who achieved fame as lead guitarist of the rock band Queen. May was a co-founder of Queen with lead singer Freddie Mercury and drummer Roger Taylor. His songwriting contributions helped Queen become one of the most successful bands in rock history. At Hampton Grammar School, he attained ten GCE Ordinary Levels and three GCE Advanced Levels in Physics, Mathematics, and Applied Mathematics.[21] He studied Mathematics and Physics at Imperial College London, graduating with a BSc degree in Physics in 1968 with honours.[22] Following his graduation, May received a personal invitation from Sir Bernard Lovell to work at the Jodrell Bank Observatory while continuing to prepare his doctorate. He declined, choosing instead to remain at Imperial College to avoid breaking from Smile, the London-based band he was in at the time.[23]
In 2007, May was awarded a PhD degree in astrophysics from Imperial College London for work started in 1971 and completed in 2007.

Queen is the most versatile rock band, they wrote their own stuff in several genres (cca. 15) from rock to jazz, to pop, etc. about 200 songs.

The Rock of the 60s and 70s is full of groups that use piano. Started in the 50’s as an outgrowth of ragtime and swing the generations before and carried over into jazz and original r&b and rock-n-roll. A staple for Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, The Doors, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Fleetwood Mac, Blue Öyster Cult, Kansas, Styx, Elton John, Lynyrd, Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis and so many other groups that rocked the piano just like Queen. Many Queen fans would have liked to see Freddie do more piano, as he drifted away from it as time marched on. The piano has been a pivotal force-multiplier for rock music all along really. The Queen sound really comes from innovative arrangements, rhythms, songwriting, and the unique voices they created individually, in harmony, or in guitar expression. Freddie was a genius, but all four were songwriters that worked on the band’s arrangements - and each provided vocals at different times. Like Chicago, Earth Wind & Fire, Eagles, or the Beatles, Providence played a role in bringing these artists together to form Queen. 🤘🏻

Watching Brad trying to categorise Queen. and others .... Love it!... We all do it! And the list of genres and sub genres these days in in the many hundreds.... but I have to agree with comments below on the lines.. all great artists are themselves and create their own form of life and mirror to it..... Queen is Queen.... Hendrix is Hendrix..... Beatles are Beatles.... Beethoven is Beethoven .. Chuck Berry is Chuck Berry ..Miles Davies is Mies Davies... . All the greats create their own world!... leap about genres and music types and forms and translate into other music forms...... All great music you can turn into a String Quartet.
These days I say some bands are just special..... Queen are one and they are themselves.... it does not matter what category so much ... great music is great music... I am more guilty than most as my brain much like Brad is always thinking what genre is this?...... But really Queen are a great example of someone who is just Queen as they overlap so many genres ... and make so many gems of songs in different genres its just great to see! t just comes out of them... but there is always something very Queen about every song. That is greatness in my opinion. They are not even my favourite band. But they are in the list of all time special bands! And entertainers.
So many great memories to this song dancing at random on chairs at parties and driving ........... just a happy song! : )) And what an into and fade ... Just class and a feel good factor vive. You know Freddie has everyone from Funkadelic to James Brown to Led Zep and Bowie and a large number of classical albums in his record collection and probably a Southern Baptist Choir album as well as Opera albums. Happy viewing Lex and Brad ... enjoying your show from Cotswolds, England.... Great to see we all have so many of the same thoughts and reactions. I cannot agree more with a lot of Lex's saying about Pink Floyd as well.... very insightful I thought. I even leaned a few things. It is also great to see how great music just translates to all.... whether it is James Brown, Kanye or The Smiths, GnR or Prince or Parliament or Charlie Parker or Mozart..... Music unifies us all as human beings..........England , US and round the whole world..... in Soviet Russia ... they could not get enough Western Music smuggled through...in the 60's and 70's and 80's .... Enjoying your channel on a boring raining Sunday night in England! : )) Worked hard all day... and just having a break and some harmless fun : ))

Get your minds of the street, not everything is about drugs. Queen and Freddie Mercury were on top of the world. Just listen to the lyrics, “don’t stop me know I’m having such a good time I’m having a ball”, “ I’m a shooting star”, “I am a rocket ship“. It is possible for people to write a song about having a good time, having fun.

The empowering song shows Freddie feeling unstoppable: "floating around in ecstasy," "like a tiger defying the laws of gravity," and "traveling at the speed of light."
It shows how Freddie threw caution to the wind, putting himself in danger: "I am a satellite, I'm out of control" and "I am a sex machine ready to reload".
After Freddie died of AIDS-related causes in 1991, Brian May told Mojo that he struggled with the lyrics, as it was about a difficult time in Freddie's life, when he was "taking lots of drugs and having sex with lots of men."
Brian May later said: "I thought it was a lot of fun, but I did have an undercurrent feeling of, 'aren't we talking about danger here,' because we were worried about Freddie at this point.

It's a Rock and Roll song, guys. Rock comes in many forms. Disco, R&B, Techno, Hip Hop, Pop, Funk and Punk, are all subgenres of Rock and Roll. Rock and Roll can include elements of jazz, country and classical. It can be funky and it can be grungy. Rock is the most diverse form of music the world has known. Rock is not just guitars, drums, bass and keyboards. If you don't get that, you'll be forever asking if groups like Queen, Supertramp, Talking Heads. Pink Floyd and Steely Dan are rock. Yes, they are. From Elvis, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, to Metallica and Nirvana, it's all Rock and Roll. Try reacting to Billy Joel's, "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me", and you'll get the picture.
