Actually I think they do spend multiple years working on each game, but the issue is that they do them simultaneously, as I believe we saw footage of Legends Arceus sometime before the game was announced by at least a year. Meaning it was made at the same time SV was being developed.
So ZA hopefully getting the extra time could mean that Gamefreak is actually focusing on a single project, rather than spreading their attention to keep mediocre products coming out every year.

My theory is that we will see the construction of Magearna next to Lumiose City, she already has a film in the Kalos region together with Volcanion, so she already has a good connection with Kalos, and in her Pokédex it says that she was made 500 years ago, so maybe this is the date that the game will take place and it shows the technological and development level of the city that they said in the trailer, and obviously Volcanion would gain some kind of attention because of its connection with Magearna in the film, in addition to needing some kind of attention to stop being totally forgettable.

Imagine if zygarde gained new navigation moves as you get more cells like what Xbox 360 prince of Persia did, allowing for new areas to be accessed. Say the zygarde cells could assemble into different objects but you need to get enough cells and the blueprint for said object. Now that would be cool.

@@Pokiiii62 yeah, I actually thought of it as a somewhat direct result of the TOTK mention, and as a result of the idea that zygarde doesn't necessarily have to just take one form. it would also give a couple of things for getting all the zygarde cells, as potentially the complete forme could essentially be the de facto battle forme, and you could send it out without needing a pokeball to hold it in. you could also make it so that zygarde cells themselves could be used in battle as a method to activate "Zygarde powers", which would act as a supporting power thing similar to rotom powers.
What would be cool is a side quest with ash’s greninja

BotW and TotK had stories that were severely lacking compared to other console Zelda games like OoT, Twilight Princess, and Wind Waker. I want the hero’s journey story formula back in Zelda.
Also, it’s funny that Zelda is mentioned when a Kalos game is being talked about… X and Y had the classic Zelda formula of progress baked into it. Compare X and Y to Ocarina of Time, and you see the similarities in terms of progress. Three gyms or dungeons before getting an important item (in X and Y, it’s the Mega Ring, and in Ocarina of Time, it’s the Master Sword) and that is followed by five more gyms or dungeons before taking on the final challenge of the Pokémon League or Ganondorf respectively.

I think it might be an MMO-style game, because since it's going to be only in Lumiose city, what if you can see other trainers from their own consoles and you can interact with them like battle or trade, even friend them and you can see their Pokemon follow them around. Just making an idea I think it would be perfect for the game.

I Agree with bringing back Strong & Agile Style for ZA it makes it more like the Anime Battles/Action RPG to me and it is definitely more fun. And that Zygarde idea would be cool 5:42 being able to control Zygarde like using the Synchro Machine but to battle and use all his moves in real time action against something trying to destroy the CIty would be dumb cool.
Wish i could buy a Nintendo switch to play legends ZA, but they are so expensive in my country, i never had any console in my life and the only way i played any Pokémon game is bcs of emulators on my phone and that's only until 7 gen with help of citra

This game definitely has potential, but I hope that since this game take place in the future or present time I would love see zinnia return in a quest or in the story to battle her and hear the amazing battle theme remastered.
I find it very funny that people believe that Game Freak is going to spend an extra year on ZA.
For context, Legends Arceus is a 2022 game, but it released in January. That means that ZA (if it is going to use the same release date as PLA, which makes sense since PLA has had amazing sales) is going to release in January 2025, not November (which is what many people thought). That's just 2 extra months, which isn't enough.
Just wanted to clear up the misconception, as if Game Freak was actually gonna turn over a new LeafGreen 😉

I think Pokémon will be just fine after legends z-a. After all they aren’t hurting for money so it’s not like Pokémon fate relies on legends za. Most of their games have been in development for more than a year and legends z-a will be no different. Including every Pokémon generation that has been in development for way more than a year. The anime is different than the games. Can’t always compare the anime to the games since they are different. Same way the anime isn’t like the games and the games isn’t like the anime. Zelda is different then pokemon and how they do things in terms of franchise and game development. Gamefreak is going to do things different to their games than the Zelda team.
It would be much harder to develop an open world pokemon game to the likes of Zelda after all there would be like 100x the entities walking around especially with graphics making hundreds of designs into realistic 3d models would take a very long time plus I don’t want Pokémon to be hyper realistic it is meant to be cartoony and fun and I very much a agree with Pokémon not being at risk
@fadora_ Pretty sure no one is asking Pokémon to be hyper realistic. People just want the world design to not be so flat and dull. Look at the recent Zelda games. Lots of verticality, underlying details in the grass, bump maps in the ground, etc. Like Korok Forest is a good example.
I know that no one is asking for hyper realistic models but if they greatly improve over world graphics they would most likely improve models as well
Although it would be cool to ride on Zygarde but I’m not sure if you can ride on the 10% form since it is like the size of a dog.

A Pokémon game where you play as the pokemon, and get to use their known moves as abilities would be great.
It could even work like the anime where you can use moves to do unintended things. Like freezing the ground for pokemon that can skate, or using a stone edge to create walls.
Granted that kind of thing is better for a spinoff with a smaller roster so that the pokemon can be given fair attention, but it would be cool to see in the main line games.

As much as I enjoyed Scarlet and Violet, it did leave a lot to be desired and I was ultimately disappointed at the end. Now I'm not gonna get too excited for ZA until we see some actual gameplay. However, learning that they're taking this year off does have me a little relieved but I should still keep my hype in check. Either way, is this a sign of things changing for Pokémon going forward? Can Legends ZA save the franchise and get it back on track? Or is it the equivalent of the Rolling Stones announcing another tour and expecting that to save the music industry? Only time will tell

I personally disagree with pokemon being at a bad point currently I just think personally everyone is just attached to older games due to nostalgia while yes they have had glitches and complaints all games have this I have really enjoyed scarlet and violet especially the dlcs I am still very excited for ZA sorry for blabbering just my opinion yeah
Yes, every game has bugs but NOT to the extent scarlet and violet did. Not to mention the amount of mountains that looked like literal clay was absolutely horrendous

With how we're not going to see much about this game until maybe next Pokémon Day, I don't think there's much to worry about rn because there isn't much about PLZ-A that we know.
Nothing about the time period or any gameplay or even a concrete release date outside of the 2025 window. All that we can do now is hope to see that like PLA, it'll live up to expectations and be released in a good state because 3 years just ain't enough for these games anymore and hasn't been since the jump to the Switch.

I’m the announcement trailer they said coming to consoles plural and they did say Nintendo switch if I remember correctly and since all Nintendo franchises games besides mobile ones are exclusive to their consoles so yes basically confirmed.
1:50 TotK was only fun if you HADN'T played BoTW, I'm not sorry to say but Majora's Mask is a better sequel to OoT over what TotK did. Sure, it reused assets like TotK did but it felt entirely different. It's been a year since the game came out and I have yet to have the need to play it again.
All Pokemon has to do is take at least 5 years on ONE game over working on multiple ones during 3 years. We're not on handhelds anymore, they need more time.......now if only the pokemon company could realize that and slow down the production of it's other products such as the anime, merchandise, etc.

I honestly wouldn’t care if they went back to black and white graphics if they can just make a game with a good main story. The quality of stories told across all media has reach an all time low and it’s just getting worse. Oh and no more forcing me to wear an ugly outfit the whole game I literally stopped playing violet because it bothered me that bad.

One thing I really hope gamefreak does in legends ZA is to completely overall combat. And have it lean more towards Pokken style. Especially with the amount of development time and how the map is just one city. I am just really excited for this game.

Megas haven't that crazy of a lore. All the gimmicks have mediocre lore honestly. Also "fantastic designs" is kinda of a stretch: they literally add one or two spikes and call it a day. The Gmax are more creative imo.
