I own an IS350 and no is250 jumps off that quick against a g37 nonetheless. That is an IS350 for sure, but it does bring up the legitimate question of why the IS350 was left in the dust. Stock to stock, they are generally neck and neck, so it was either a driver fail, or the g37 has some modifications we don't know about.

those referencing the 7 speed vs 6. that will have very little impact on a roll race like this from 50 to 100. just allows higher speeds at lower RPM. only really beneficial for long term high- high speeds. if anything it will have less pull in lower gears due to the difference in ratio between a 6 speed IS350 and the 7 speed G37. to be honest these cars are pretty well matched stock. I tend to think the 350's are a bit quicker, but to each their own.
I have both of these cars and it’s really simple. From a dig aka light to light racing you’re not beating the is350 in the G37. Now if you’re rolling bye bye Lexus it feels like a turtle after 80mph. I own a 2013 G37s and a 06 is350

Dude in a 3point8 - I've been debating getting a 335i 4 door but I am going to go with a 2009 is350 instead. The 335i is going to be sportier off the bat, but I can easily fix that by adding a good suspension to the lexus. I want a 335i so bad but I have a job I drive 50miles both ways and a family. I just dont have time to have my car not start in the morning because some fucking cheap hose is cracked or something stupid. Am goin with is350 for power and reliability. Once i add a good set of coilovers, then it will feel really sporty like the 335i.
I keep saying those G37's with the 7 speed auto are faster than people think. A 370Z with the 7 speed auto trapped 108 mph in the 1/4 mile bone stock. I'd still rather have a manual, but that auto is pretty damn impressive now.
Tough call, the Lexus has got consistently better times in magazines, 4.8-4.9 seconds to 60 and mid 13 seconds in the quarter mile. Was that maybe a 6MT G37 vs. an IS350? Either way, the IS350 still looks better, and has electric power steering. Infiniti had the look right with the earlier G35 coupe but the new one looks all wrong, especially the tail end :(

See that shit! Thats a true race. And one of the issues the G has. Almost any matched car will kick the Gs ass until about the 4K and about 3rd or 4th gear or so range and then the G will pull hard and pass. The only exception to this is with an S4(Supercharged one) or a 335I.
Stock whp 335i is making 275, while the G is making 286. Turbos and 0-60 along with weight are big factors. From a dig the G is losing, but from 60-80 the G is walking the 335 bc of the better top end speed
Toyota system when it hits the rev limiter is much more forgiving than others. power comes back instantly even if you hit the redline making it not much slower but if you hit the rev limiter in the g37 it slows you down much more
I've owned a is350 before and from what I learned is that the is350 will only win from a dig never from a roll g37 has more power and revs higher... and yes I switched to g37 they're easier to modify and tune
InnerGuide I know im replying to a 2yr old comment but I own a 08 g37s coupe and have had it since 66k miles. Currently has 184k on the clock and havnt done anything but oil changes coolant flushes tire changes and a couple of coolant hoses.... its a hell of a reliable car.
When it comes to durability we give it to Lexus but power no size for Nissan cars you see not even Porsche can compare it self to Nissan or Infiniti cars

The reason why that g37 beat this is 350 was because it was just a base Lexus. Try that with a 2011-2013 Lexus IS 350 F-Sport AWD or even a RWD and that Infiniti would have seen that sexy ass of the Lexus. Know your cars don’t just talk out your ass the IS 350 with the F sport badge reaches 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. Or maybe that Infiniti was modified had an intake and exhaust. And you gotta take into account that if it was a coupe it had less weight. And Infiniti’s have more hp than Lexus.

If the G37 was in a high gear and not in power band, even a 2.5 V6 would pull at first until. thus is why the G37 pulled away slowly then by a landslide. I'll see if I can find a link to send on the body style difference. a 350 wouldn't have let up. also, a 5 or 6 speed is going to "pull" harder on downshift due to the gear ratio vs. a 7.

+brandon velez I have raced a g37 and won. My friend has one and sold it and when he had the g37 he liked my 350 better. He sold it for a BMW 535i twin turbo. And he doesn't miss it the Infiniti. I race him in my 350 with his bimmer and he won once and I won once. I have also driven in the G37 the Lexus has a better interior the infiniti has a ton of hard plastic and the IS350 seat are much better quality then in the Infiniti.

I've owned a is350 before and from what I learned is that the is350 will only win from a dig never from a roll g37 has more power and revs higher... and yes I switched to g37 they're easier to modify and tune

InnerGuide I know im replying to a 2yr old comment but I own a 08 g37s coupe and have had it since 66k miles. Currently has 184k on the clock and havnt done anything but oil changes coolant flushes tire changes and a couple of coolant hoses.... its a hell of a reliable car.

The reason why that g37 beat this is 350 was because it was just a base Lexus. Try that with a 2011-2013 Lexus IS 350 F-Sport AWD or even a RWD and that Infiniti would have seen that sexy ass of the Lexus. Know your cars don’t just talk out your ass the IS 350 with the F sport badge reaches 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. Or maybe that Infiniti was modified had an intake and exhaust. And you gotta take into account that if it was a coupe it had less weight. And Infiniti’s have more hp than Lexus.

If the G37 was in a high gear and not in power band, even a 2.5 V6 would pull at first until. thus is why the G37 pulled away slowly then by a landslide. I'll see if I can find a link to send on the body style difference. a 350 wouldn't have let up. also, a 5 or 6 speed is going to "pull" harder on downshift due to the gear ratio vs. a 7.

+brandon velez I have raced a g37 and won. My friend has one and sold it and when he had the g37 he liked my 350 better. He sold it for a BMW 535i twin turbo. And he doesn't miss it the Infiniti. I race him in my 350 with his bimmer and he won once and I won once. I have also driven in the G37 the Lexus has a better interior the infiniti has a ton of hard plastic and the IS350 seat are much better quality then in the Infiniti.
