This and Twister really showed the truck well
Indeed 😉👍
The twisters movie had a v10 viper motor mated to a 4+4 2500 extra long bed ? Why not that nice Cummins
There is one in paris landing tn at his home near camden tn and kid rock had one that he gave to his neighbor Hank Williams jr or the 3 rd
I love to have a new one with 4+4 or dually with extra long bed with mega cab and the old Cummins mated to a better transmission but still in a manual and a great dash at don't shadder in a month after ownership and last a long time like a Volvo or Isuzu and then mount that soft cover dash to it in a cowboy 🤠 style leather in light brown or dark brown or black and if gas a trx super charged or twin turbo viper motor
@TerrySmith-fc9mj The Viper V10 and the V10 Magnum used in the Ram 2500’s are 2 different motors.
And they didn’t use a Cummins because the Cummins is slow. They tow great, but they’re slow. And more expensive.
I loved Walker Texas Ranger when I was younger. Don't forget that his partner, Trivette, had some cool rides as well. He had a red 93 Pontiac Firebird, a silver 94 Dodge Stelth R/T Turbo, and two black Ford Mustang GT convertibles(one from 96 and one from 99).
Cool and indeed 😉👍
I loved the Camero cop cars they used in the show
And briefly a Plymouth Prowler.
I used to work at Rodeo Dodge in Mesquite, Texas and two of the trucks from the show were brought in fairly often for routine maintenance. It was my job to do light maintenance like fluid changes, tire rotations, belts, and hoses, so I drove both several times.
You mean ‘Dallas Dodge’. That’s the only dodge dealer in Mesquite
Nope. It was Rodeo Dodge. They went out of business years ago. I think that Dallas Dodge is in Garland.
Very cool 😉👍
@Trevorwilliams2178, that is so cool that you were able to experience that. Were those trucks 360 5.9 magnums unmodified?
When tv shows were actually good. One of my favorite shows. Definitely helped Dodge sell trucks.
Indeed 😉👍
That truck also helped sell the series.
don’t forget the movie twister with the red dodge
@@chadharmon5716that movie probably sold a boat load of those trucks.
They still show it. It’s on Hulu
Had a '99 Ram for years(still do-- drove it to work today actually). It's no joke that those 318s can take a beating. This thing has been abused so much over the years and still keeps going. Been trying to make sure it'll stay on the road as long as it can.
I didn't realize it's looking a little Walker Texas Ranger-ish. I got a wrap around grill from the smaller Dakota and cut off the headlight guards to turn it into a bull bar, and threw on side runners too. Only the truck is a dark green and the added parts are black(no lights or bar in the bed though).
Dodge knew what they were doing with the appearance of these things. People to this day tell me it's a damn nice looking truck. Keep up the awesome work on these videos, I discovered this channel a few months ago and was instantly hooked.
Cool and glad to hear that. Yeah, I had my '94 1500 318 for nearly 14 years; had nearly 300K on it when I sold it about 7 years ago and she was still running strong. Went through two transmissions and had to replace all the ball joints four times in those nearly 14 years, but never had any engine issues at all and I was quite rough on it too😉
I have the 1970 Plymouth barracuda that Chuck Norris drove in the episode black out in 1996 still in original condition
Wow, cool man 😉👍
I'm currently driving a 96 Dodge Ram 1500 club cab long bed 4WD with the 360. This show was one of the reasons why I'm driving a Ram. And of course it's a beautiful truck.
Way to go chuck 🤠
😉👍
My dad met and interviewed Chuck Norris in 79 for our local newspaper and in 81 actually named me after his brother Aaron Norris his stunt double for some of his films
Very cool man 😉👍
Is Chuck Norris and Aaron Norris related in any way I always wondered that
@@TravisBradley-qq2vt yep Aaron is 11 years younger there was a 3rd brother Wieland who was Kia in Vietnam.
@@aaronmcconnell7358 cool
Those, with the big rig inspired styling, were a game changer for Dodge. Great show, and a well done upgrades to help it stand out. I had always thought Walker's truck had a lift, but I learned today that was not the case. Well done as always sir, thank you. ~ Chuck
Indeed, yeah when I had my second gen ram, everyone would always ask me how much I lifted it, but it wasn't lifted, lol.
When this truck came out it was radically different and awesome!!!
Indeed 😉👍
Hi again
This generation of ram is the best generation of the ram imo.
Howdy, yeah; I had one for nearly 14 years and it rarely had any issues and was quite tough in most aspects 😉👍
Best looking truck out of the era, it literally made me want a truck, couldn’t say that from prior years, and before the redesign I had no reason to even consider Dodge aside from pricing.
I owned several different second generation Rams with different engines, my favorite was the V10 with the 5 speed manual, nothing but torque and raw power for its time.
Even though I own arguably a more powerful, and arguably better made modern truck, I still don’t get as excited as I did the day I bought the 2nd Gen Ram I really wanted, garnet exterior, tan leather interior, V10, dually fully loaded with wood grain, keyless entry, and a lot more.
I definitely want a 96 Indy 500 pace truck one day as my last one, nobody has came out with anything that looks better, even Dodge couldn’t top it in later model years and they tried hard.
Walker Texas Ranger and the movie Twister fueled my passion for the truck growing up, even Steven Seagal drove one in his movie Exit Wounds.
Well said friend 😉👍
'Walker is one tough guy and so his truck', as his home state was once the toughest place in usa to live in back then but nowadays has become more modern but his name and legacy have stood the test of time anyway thanks carstarz on giving another dodge truck some love so see you later bye now.
You're welcome as always and indeed 😉👍
Proud owner of a '95 Ram. 297k miles. Same motor and transmission. I don't drive it much any more being its too expensive to run.
Cool, yeah I had my '94 for nearly 14 years and had about the same mileage on it, engine never had any issues, but went through a couple transmissions and about 4 sets of ball joints in that time though. 😉
My dad bought a 95 1500 and it was a pile of garbage.
@CarStarz42 I've had the ball joint issues just the same. Had my front wheel come off once too. Luckily, no transmission issues yet, but I'm sure it's getting close. I also never did any towing with it. If I did need to haul anything, I just threw it in the back bed.
Still way cheaper than an EV
@rotaryenginepete Probably better range in miles, too. And doesn't take 12 hrs to fill up.
One of my favorite shows. If I get a 2nd generation Dodge Ram, I'm getting a long bed crew cab. The more practical, the better.
Indeed and that would be cool 😉👍
@@CarStarz42 Yep.
Good luck with that. They never built a crew cab 2nd gen. The handful you see are from custom shops.
walker is the reason why I buy RAMS.
purchase my first one in 97
😉👍
Chuck Norris once kicked a horse on the show... For years after, you have the giraffe
😉👍
This is a good video addition for the Lone Wolf McQuade Dodge Ramcharger. I laff every time I watch the escape scene.
Lol, indeed 😉👍
Warm beer exploding in your face will do that to you... lol
This is the video I have been waiting for! Man these were good looking trucks. I didn't watch the show back in the day but recently I've gotten to really enjoy it. Great stuff as always 👏 👍
Cool, glad you enjoyed it and thanks 😉👍

Love the video, great show and great pickup as well, good to go and keep it up.
Glad you enjoyed it 😉👍
Had a 94 1500 years back. They were pretty cool, to be sure. Even with a slew of issues.
True enough 😉
Amazing as always. Thank you for sharing .😎
Glad you enjoyed it 😉👍
I loved that truck from the show, so much I bought one as my first vehicle back in 2012(when I was 21) and I recently sold it to a friend of mine down in Houston recently. Miss that truck everyday 😢
😉👍
I had a Sheriff who looked alot like Chuck, one day we impounded a 95 dodge club cab 4x4 and as soon as he got the seizure paperwork done he started driving it.
Cool 😉👍
I have a 97 Ram 1500 i bought in summer of 99. The tranny is the weak link for sure. I had the transmission rebuilt in 2005 after the snap ring for the cluster gear in the transfer case broke giving false neutrals. Transgo shift kit and some 3/4 ton spec upgrades really made it tough. Scary pulling a car trailer as the shift downs and ups on the highway are real stout. Keep waiting for the driveshaft to spit out...
Indeed, I had my '94 1500 for nearly 14 years, went through two transmissions, three transfer case rebuilds and four sets of ball joints, but never had any engine issues at least 😉👍
@@CarStarz42 Yeah, ball joints. Even the Moogs aren't as good as they used to be..
Thank you for finally doing the video
You're very welcome, so many to do indeed 😉👍
I read that he was angry and hit his dash so hard, that all the dashes from that generation and the one after cracked. He’s THAT strong.
AH, so that's why my '94 Ram's dash disintegrated, LOL!
I used watch this show religiously when I was a kid and Walker’s truck was the Cooke thing to me. Also, in the tv show Nash Bridges, detective Evan Cortez drove a blue 2500 ram extended cab with the cab lights, which was very cool to me. Used to love watching those two shows.
😉👍
I've owned both the 318 and currently the 360. And 100% i love them both. They are absolute dogs on power, but they run and run and run. They don't care about your maintenance schedule. They turn fuel into work and are exceedingly efficient at it.
The transmissions are usually on borrowed time, but hey, any vehicle that can easily go well into the 250,000+ range on just ball joints is worth it.
Also, the LS market is starting to catch up in price to usability so the hot rodders have been going to the 5.9 magnum. A few internal upgrades and you can get 350+hp in a cheap low buck V8.
Indeed and nice 😉👍
8:13 when I was a kid, my mom had a diecast model of the Munsters rat rod. That brought back some memories.
Cool 😉👍
Never watched the show but I like the “club cab” look versus the quad cabs. Clubs look better and if they have reverse opening doors make loading easier than quads. I wouldn’t put anyone in the back of a club or quad cab anyway; the space would only be used for gear. Get a crew cab if you need to haul a crew.
Indeed 😉👍
Unfortunately Ram discontinued regular & club cabs, so lost me as a repeat customer.
@@johnmcmullen456 Yep. Sucks. Every time I see a club cab Dakota or a 1500 (even though that is still too big for what I would use it for), I wish I had gotten one a while ago.
😱who to think there would actually be a vehicle perfect enough for chuck Norris
😉👍
Can't forget the first Walker truck. A 1990 GMC 4x4.
True, but the Ram was used a lot longer in the series though.
Love the channel
Very glad to hear that 🙂👍
I been wanting for this
😉👍
So sweet this generation of Ram. Especially cool down here as these vehicles are pretty rare in Australia.
Indeed 😉👍
I remember when he switched from GMC to Ram on the show. That was when I was at my peak interest in Dodges and it made it even better.
I remember one episode when his Ram was blown up by some explosion chafing a bad guy. The others asked what he’d do about the truck. He replied, “I’m going to buy another one just like it.”
Fast forward 30 years, I’m sitting in my second personality owned Ram truck 🛻 right now: a ‘21 Ram 2500 Hemi. This month marks 10 years 😢Ram truck ownership for me after having a line of Toyota, Ford and Chevy pickups.
😉👍
I loved his truck in the series
😉👍
I loved this show as a kid and this was my dream truck, however how about a show about Walker’s 1992 GMC Serria 1500 from the first two seasons.
Yeah; that was a good truck too, just short lived compared to the Rams, but I will eventually 😉👍
I love that show & that truck !
😉👍
Could you do the other cars from The Wraith?
I do indeed have other cars in that movie on my to do list, thanks 😉👍
The second gen rams are still a very desirable pickup in the rural world. I have a 95 ram 2500 single cab with the 318 in it and i always get asked how much id take for it. I always tell them that it's not for sale and never will be
😉👍
If you have a carefully trained eye you can spot when they started using 98-02 Rams. They changed out the mirrors for the 94-97 ones, but the interior on the newer ones are distinctive.
Also in the episode ‘The Dragonfly’ Walker’s Ram 1500 gets hit by a missile. The truck used for the stunt said ‘Ram 1500’ on the side, but, if you look closely you can see the wheels are 8-lugs instead of 5-lugs. That would indicate a 2500, or 3500 Ram. Maybe they needed a heavier truck for the stunt, or it was a warranty return. Anything is possible.
Yeah, got a little mixed like that later on indeed.
In 95 Dodge had the most powerful line of pickups on the market. Not powerful? Maybe not by today's standards but for the time the 5.9 magnum was a beast and don't even get me started on the 8.0 V-10 monster that made more torque than the Mighty Cummins Turbo Diesel.
True enough friend 😉👍
For as cool as Walker's Ram 1500 was. I would love to see your take of Bill's red Dodge Ram 2500 from Twister.
Yep, that one is also already on my large to do list 😉👍
I own a '96 reg cab Ram 1500, 207k miles, still runs. ❤
😉👍
From my experience the 46RE transmissions are great. I think people just don’t check the fluid level properly. If you check it in park you get a false reading. The print on the dipstick says to check it in neutral on level ground with the engine idling at normal operating temperature. The manual goes further and says to shift into all of the gears ending in neutral and then check. My dad bought a brand new 1998 Ram 1500 and I’m now the caretaker of it. It’s about to clock over at 333k miles, basically 1/3 of a million. We rebuilt the transmission once but that’s how we learned we didn’t check the fluid properly. Since then it’s always been a strong transmission. I pulled cars behind it halfway across the country and it never complained. Excellent trucks! Just wish they chose better materials for the dash.
Yeah the dash panels just disintegrated
Yeah, could have been. I went through a couple transmissions on my '94, but yes I admit I didn't check the fluid levels in it often or properly probably. And yes the dash totally disintegrated in mine too and a quality replacement wasn't released by Mopar until well after ta decade of the end of the second gen Rams.
My dad had an 01’ sport. What a great truck!
😉👍
My favorite tv show as a child
😉👍
Did not know Norris did his own driving stunts. Good to know.
Indeed 😉👍
I just recently purchased a 01 ram 1500. Never really watched texas ranger so never knew any of this! However my truck looks nothing like walkers at least i know some more history about these trucks thank you!
Cool and you're very welcome indeed 😉👍
Cool, video and tv show 🥰
Thanks and indeed a cool show 😉👍
😂
Chuck didn't drive the Dodge the Dodge was just scared of Chuck and just stayed quiet and followed orders !
Another great one indeed 😉👍
You should do a video on the yellow Baywatch Ford Ranger Splash. I loved those when I was a kid. I wouldn’t mind getting one now.
I do have that one on my to do list already as well, thanks 😉👍
Good show
😉👍
That GTA V LSPD FR reference brought me back to when Jeff Favigano (I know I butchered his last name; deepest apologies, Jeff) was doing that series. And his favorite truck is a Dodge Ram. So I wonder if he did an episode with Walker's truck.
😉👍

Lol 😉
My mom is a proud owner of a 2000 ram 1500 owned 23 years the truck is still going strong
😉👍
According to an article in Car and Driver magazine Chrysler did extensive focus groups just before they released the restyled Dodge Ram and almost dropped the whole idea because a solid majority of potential buyers absolutely hated the new styling. They only stuck with it because the minority who liked it was still close to double the previous D100 models' rather dismal sales to anybody other than fleet buyers looking for cheap, disposable work trucks. Imagine what would have happened if they hadn't stuck to their guns. The other clever thing they did was take notes and pictures of contractors' trucks on construction sites to identify popular aftermarket mods to include as features.
Not surprising I suppose as most people are against change in general 😉
had a '96 Ram 3500 dually with the Cummins diesel and a/t. and i can testify that the trans were absolute garbage. but when it had a good one in it, (went thru several) that was a hoss of a stump puller. and i'm really glad you included the info that the S/E teXas ranger truck never made it to production. being a born and bred teXan i really would have hated to have to sell my house to buy one. l0l another out the ballpark video sir. thank you.
Lol, yeah Dodge sure can make good engines at least and that Texas Ranger concept Ram would of sold well indeed, not sure why they didn't put it into production, probably a cost issue with all the special high quality custom details, but certainly was Texas eye candy for sure! 😉👍
@@CarStarz42 it was top shelf eye candy. now i'm imagining one with a hellcat hemi in it. only problem is i'm not 100% sure my house would buy me one. L0L

I'm guessing from all of these cool faxs about Walker 95- Dodge Ram Pick-up from the show Texas Ranger. lt would be the easiest for a fan to custom there now .
Hope so, I couldn't find the brand names of the parts they used, but there are still a lot of aftermarket companies making parts for these now, so lots to choose from 😉👍
Let's not forget the red '96 Dodge Ram 1500 Extended Cab Long Bed that was in the '96 movie, Twister...
I do indeed have that one on my to do list as well 😉👍
You can’t call them “Roll Bars”. The lawyers saw to that. You can call them Light Bars though!
Love the video.
Lol, probably so. Glad you enjoyed the video 😉👍
another vehicle suggestion Ford Maverick from the movie Runaway Car (1997) with Judge Reinhold near the entire movie takes places around that car , 2 of them still exists in SPV inventory, one of the apperead in Phantasm IV
Cool, I'll add it to my big list to look into, thanks 😉👍
The emergency lighting is the most under lit emergency vehicle ever.
Lol, true enough 😉
These transmissions were fine behind the V8s. It was behind the Cummins that they had issues. As a Mopar parts adviser I can attest it was 10-1 the diesels 47REs that failed over the V8/V6 trucks.
My 1995 made it 180k before needing both the 46RE and NP241 rebuilt. Pushing 35s most of those miles.
Experiences vary for sure, I went through a couple transmissions on my '94 1500 with just a 318 and stock size tires though.
I just realized….we need Thomas Magnums Ferrari please
That one is indeed already on the list as well, thanks 😉👍
The 94 Ram and 92 and later Viper were watershed vehicles for Chrysler in the 1990s! Cheers!😀🛠️🔧
Ok.
Yes I owned a used 97 ram great truck just had to replace transmission at 300, miles but a great truck 319 engine 👍
Yeah, my 318 '94 lasted about the same, but went through a couple transmissions and few transfer cases too.
Great video as always. Any chance we could get a video on the Lamborghini Murcielago on the Dark Knight? Its quite a rare car and i have some friends on CZcams who could probably help you get extra info for it.
I hadn't thought about that one, but I'll add it to my list to look into, thanks 😉👍
I disagree that Dodge’s 2nd gen Ram was a radical departure from the “boxy” trucks that the competition had. GM moved away from the boxy truck with the 1988 GMT 400 platform. The best that can be said about Dodge in this regard is they expanded upon what GM had already done.
That GM model was still boxy IMHO anyways...
When I drove tow trucks in Texas I ran MVR on the license plate, it came back to a Hispanic guy in Irving, Tx
Cool, 😉👍
I still want one with the strobe headlights

Can you do one on the twister dodge ram or any of the twister vehicles?
I do indeed have the Ram and Jeep from that movie on my list already, thanks 🙂👍
I think this may be a nod to the Ramcharger Norris drove in McQuade.

My friend the late James J "Wolfie" Beards, was a custom model maker he would take a 1/24th scale model and modify it to look exactly like your vehicle down to the rust and dings in the paint. He made a model of walker's truck in the mid 2000's, not aure where ot oa now he passed away over 10 years ago.
Sounds impressive indeed!

You seem to have forgot about the time that Walker's truck got blown up. Either episode 5-3 or 5-7 "codename dragonfly" was the episode name. Might also be able to go into a little detail on how that was pulled off as well.
I'm sure they sacrificed a few for those those kinds of scenes over the show's run, but I haven't watched through the whole series myself.
Here's something very cool and a hunch guessing.
Chuck Norris Walker Texas Ranger
Character, series and truck.
Based on the movie Lone Wolf Mcquaid.
Norris was a texas ranger, his vehicle a dodge power ram wagon.
Both has indentical features added.
To be fair Walker's Ram woulda had a 5.9 which is comes close to the 440 supercharger with nitrous oxide.

Ol chuck woulda caught them criminals a lil quicker if'n he had a compounded vp44 truck instead. The 318 & the 360 have power (I drove a 318 up to 11k ft above sea level without feeling slow) but them diesels will your butt through the seat.
😉👍
I grew up watching that show And every episode Somebody Was always messing with his truck.
lol, yeah.
Walker would need over 10 new ram trucks to make it a week .
lol
'95 Ram in the '93 tv series? That's a good trick.
No trick really, the show started off with a GMC truck actually.
1993 GMC Sierra was used in the first 2 seasons the Sierra was blue in the first 4 episodes then painting it grey as the Ram would be for the following’94-95 season
Love the videos, but the diecast plug is getting old! Cool to know what happened to these cars after the show/movie. I lived in northern Illinois, and visited Volo a lot growing up, I still make it a point to visit whenever I'm up there!
Cool, but the scale model mentions are like by more than not, so it will stay a mainstay😉
