The southern Cameroon are not fighting over languages. They are fighting the government regime of Paul Biya. They are fighting for their human rights. They were declared war on for peacefully protesting with green leaves and palm trees, asking to be treated as human beings. The Southern Cameroon are fighting for their freedom, and their basic human rights.
They are fighting for their sovereignty. Their right to self determination.
Exactly
THE IRONY. THE ARMY IS FIGHTING TO KEEP COLONIAL BORDERS FORCED ON THEM BY THE GERMAN COLONIALIST DURING THE BERLIN CONFERENCE.

Cameroon was actually a German colony. It was taken away from Germany and broken into British and French protectorates after the Germans lost the first world war.

why is Cameroonian President Biya being supported by France? The earlier France leaves Africa, the better.

Any state built on the basis of authoritarianism, butchery, and corruption should be crushed at once. These Rebels might reference "Freedom" as a justification, but they slaughter, torture, and mutilate innocents, burn essentials for life (government supplied food/medicine) and commit human rights atrocities. Not to mention in every meaning of the word, this separatist movement is illegal. It's like saying ISIS should have been allowed to form their own state because they wanted to.
@@ethanragbir8311 but isnt that exactly the same allegations against the Cameroonian government? Your justification is hypocrisy at best. Insurgencies are rooted in injustice. “Anglophone and Francophone” what a dumb people we’ve become

@Oscar
Isn't it more about Cameroon having become a unitary state led by a one-party system (basically a dictatorship) rather than a democratic federal state ?
What's interesting is that the people that actually speak these languages in Canada don't seem to have this issue! And they seem to get along fine in The Gambia and Senegal, no?
sooo dumb
Edo man, u know it’s deeper than that. Stop trying to act dumb. Better think of how to join your Oduduwa cousins or go for an edo republic. Leave Ambazonia alone.
You guys kept saying 3000 deaths for a war that has entered the fifth year? When you guys says “ Trying to create a break away state “, are you guys aware that Cameroon is made up of two countries who came to a union in 1961 and agreed that neither should annex the other, but French Cameroun illegally annexed the British Southern Cameroons because all the natural resources are located in the Southern Cameroons , and the people are left in abject poverty since 1972.
I think Ambazonia should get independence without blood-shed

How Ambazonia is struggling to end Cameroonian occupation in their territory. - Fixed your title
The report seems to be accurate, but in my eyes, a piece of major information is held back: Before the separatists uprising about 3 years ago, English was banned from schools and court. The anglophone people of Cameroon complain about being in a disadvantage because all important ministries are held by francophone persons. I can understand the separatist movement, but I don't believe that is this the right way. Cameroon NEEDS unity. Pointing out that there are separatist groups that try to make money out of this conflict - well, it is not a lie, but it is not the whole truth neither
RUBBISH. There’s an English speaking minority in the country and officially the country is bilingual, not in the fact but in the papers and the government’s things yes. Don’t say English is banned or whatever BS, because this ain’t the damn case. There’s something like 80% francophones for 20% anglophones, you can’t expect everyone to talk both.
More than 15000 civilians have been killed and 1.5 millions displaced. Cameroon is made up of two separate independent countries that each got independent on separate dates but asked to "live together" under the condition of a two state federation of equal status. But the majority French puppet side decided to invade and occupy the anglophone state. It is not called anglophone region but the Southern Cameroon except you are a terrorist sympathizer. Your reporting is intentionally misleading.
Before Cameroun or Cameroon we were Kamerun, and before that we were just us.

Anglophones should be separated from francophones. These 2 systems are like water & oil. They can never mix
@Oscar if you agree with me you won't be asking "why".
Its not a problem of ethnicity its a problem of systems(French & English). This shows that just like the Cameroon government, you & many other francophones do not understand the anglophones and can't give a solution to what you don't understand, hence justifying division. Thanks
I completely understand you; I am francophone and since younger there were always derogatory terms directed at people from Bamenda and Buea. If you did just a little bit of your work, you will know that one of the major problems in Cameroon is that, the people of Southern Cameroons speak English, but they are being forced to become Francophones. So, saying that all of Cameroon is a Francophone country means you too are part of the crowd that is forcing Southern Cameroonians to become Francophones. Cameroon has one side that speaks French, and another side that speaks English. And we do not even like to be called Francophones, or anglophones, because we are Africans. We have our own African languages and cultures.

Is it important for Africans to speak their own God given languages? The answer to that, of course, is yes; if their own God given languages could replace foreign languages, the better. Is it not their own God given language? Don't peoples all over the world speak their own God given languages? Why are they prevented from speaking their own languages? Why are they not proficient in the language that is supposed to be their national language? Because they are required to learn two foreign languages. Is that correct? Is that fair? Is that Justice? Is there anything in this world today, that cannot be fixed if people determine that it needs to be fixed? There is nothing that cannot be fixed. All it takes is for people to decide to fix it. We have adults who would have have a thought in their mind, but do not have the words to express the thought, simply because they are not proficient in any language. That is something that is supposed to happen to children, not adults. People are not supposed to go to school to learn the language they need to communicate with.
