No enforcement on the Q23 line? Especially in Corona, this is a constant issue and it's been labeled as the worst bus line in the entire MTA.
I completely agree if I have to take the q23 I walk it’s soo much faster
I hope this helps with bus frequency. Getting back to back busses while also waiting 20-30 minutes for busses to pass because of delays really hurts the bus riding experience.
that happens because of traffic jams, but yes, if busses can board and travel quicker and safer, there more service can be achieved with the current staff and equipment
Finally, it’s tiring seeing the abundance of double parked vehicles around Story Ave.
Agreed.
Utica and Eastern parkway is crazy the dollar vans using the south bound bus stops as a parking lot. Northbound, people go inside the restaurant to get food, forcing busses to board in the street, jamming up traffic.
It's always a pain in the ass for me to try to go around the Ubers and MTA Police that are constantly parked on the bus lane in front of the Fordham Metro North station. I have to fight with traffic on my left side to go around them. I hope this actually fixes that problem.
Well at least they gotten that problem resolved. It's about time.
The 4 Bronx Corridors they chose are great! It's been annoying seeing a whole bunch of double parked cars near Fordhamn Rd on Webster Ave.
They better be doing it on the m15 route bro the 1st and 2nd ave corridors have so many problems due to this
Yeah. Theres people always either in the bus lane or blocking the bus stops.
Good. No more double parking and the city and state needs to enforce the photos and fines and getting rid of bad drivers that don’t obey the road
Intersting. I hope they enforce the double parked cars on regular road ways. People around me double park on the main road instead of in a bus stop because cops and traffic agents don't care enough to ticket them. With the amount of routes these busses cover , and with how frequent they drive by, i'm sure this would deter a lot of drivers from continuing to block lanes on the main road. This along with the congestion pricing in Manhattan seems like a great opportunity for the city to increase its revenue and improve roadways/public transit. I could see drivers just pulling off the main road into residential streets and continue to double park, but one problem at a time.
NYC has been pretty anti-car lately with the addition of all of these bike racks on corners and Department Official parking, making it frustrating for drivers to street park.
The Bx16 really needs it; it's so insane how there are a bunch of unlicensed cabs at Dyre and 238.
This is great. There's too many cars in the city. Hopefully this makes more people stop driving and taking public transit instead.
Most definitely, especially these yellow cabs and black cabs that are in Brooklyn
BEAUTIFUL! Very eager to see the results.
Jamaica Ave is a busway where drivers *are* allowed; they just have to make a right turn at the next intersection. I wonder how that'll be enforced, and how cameras will separate proper behavior from improper behavior in this aspect. Ditto part-time bus lanes (like on Cross Bay Blvd south of Rockaway Blvd, just one that comes to mind).
I hope they do the Bx28/38 soon. As a regular rider on the route, it desperately needs it.
Not sure if it’s planned in the future. I do know that the Gun Hill Rd bus lanes recently went into use though.
That could give a transit a priority
darn, that's crazy that they did something for once instead of saying they are "working on it" and take like 2000000 years to even start to talk about it.
Hopefully they will implement ACE for the Q72, it is often painful to get through the business area of Junction Blvd because of multiple cars double parking
I'm from the Bronx, I've visited junction Blvd, the bus takes almost two hours because of all these cars on junction Blvd, it's ridiculous.
@@mtasubwaymartasubway Agree
I hope the MTA uses the money they get well
For real, in conjuction with congestion pricing. The MTA will get rich off this.
they absolutely will pocket this and say they're suffering and need to raise fares more...
That crap annoys me when people block bus stops with their friggin car's especially yellow cabs!
Double parking is a problem in the city. However I feel that is
Parking is hard to find because of all the parking restrictions.
You should become friends with my brother Xavier. He loves trains just like you
About time
I'll see it to believe it
BX12 should be top choice
When's the W train least used station coming out?
I plan for it to release in January.
There are so many vehicles out there with plastic covers over the license plates in order to obscure them The bus cameras will be ineffective against these vehicles
Cars shouldn’t be allowed to park in commercial streets. I really wish nyc utilized minucipal parking lots specifically on commercial streets and stripped on street parking away from the streets allowing bus lanes and an extra lane for male carriers and trucks to park and deliver without double parking
Seems like it’s targeting a certain demographic of people😒 in addition to that how would other motorist allow their passengers to exit the vehicle safely? Considering bus stops and bus lanes are parallel to the sidewalks.
police should be exempt if their serin lights are still one going around the block a few times to find a parking place give the criminal a chance to get away. also to prevent death ambulances should also be exempt under the same rules.
2:10 if school busses and access-a-ride vehicles are exempt, then i'm guessing emergency vehicles on call are too
This is the biggest joke. The city makes stuff up, only enforce it for 2-3 weeks and then everything is back to normal and the cars will be double parked in the bus lanes again. It’s a joke.
Did you not watch the video? It's an automated system using the pre-existing camers on buses lol. This gets rid of the man hours it would take to drive/walk up to these vehicles and ticket them; they'll just get it in the mail instead. It's been working for the bus lanes in the Q44 route
Please pronounce route correctly! It is pronounced like "root"!
Yes please
