The big problems come from systems that have the BIOS set to RAID mode, including Optane. The reason is that the drivers needed to support the controller while it is in RAID mode are not always included, or have problems and require new driver versions(which may not be in your recovery environment). AHCI is going to be a lot less problematic. If you keep your Intel drivers up to date, you will generally be safer from problems.

Go into device manager, and for every device(from the bottom to the top), right-click and tell it to update driver. Do that for ALL of them, especially the Intel drivers. Make sure any other software you have is up to date as well, because iTunes and iCloud have put upgrade holds on some versions of Windows 10. Now, you have three ways to upgrade to the latest version of Windows. The first is Windows Update, the second is to use a Windows 10 flash drive created by the Media Creation Tool. The third is the Windows 10 Update assistant. If the Windows 10 flash drive doesn't work for you, then your Windows install is probably REALLY broken, and you will want to do a full backup, save your files, then just wipe the machine and do a clean install of Windows 10. It is stuff like this that should inspire people to make a full image backup(preferably with something like Acronis True Image) so that if Windows really breaks, you can get your Windows back to how it was at the time you made the image.

I have fix for it This problem arrives when you delete windows recovery partition If you don't have windows recovery partition or drive just reset your pc using your recovery media or using online windows 10 media creation tool mind you install same windows version to prevent activation if you do all this you will get your windows recovery partition back then any one ask me when this is done I will tell you how to move all files from windows recovery drive to windows disk c and safely delet windows recovery drive must try this I've done this I know how bad you all felling that you can't reset your pc
Hi guys, I was able to fix the problem by doing this. Go to the windows search bar at the bottom left corner of your screen and type "cmd" then run it as administrator. Then you wanna type "reagentc /enable" if the operation is successful, you are good to go. However, for some people it won't be successful. Your next step would be to type "reagentc /repair" your screen might freeze for few seconds or mins but don't worry it is repairing. Lastly, type "reagentc /enable" and if the operation is successful, you are good to go. Hopefully this helps.

I cannot remember but it was something like 00000X42, I Googled it and found this link support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system I could not start almost ANY program, they all reported some file missing or corrupt. If possible, pls make a video on this one. Sorry that it's not 100% accurate...:-)

Hi guys, I was able to fix the problem by doing this.
Go to the windows search bar at the bottom left corner of your screen and type "cmd" then run it as administrator.
Then you wanna type "reagentc /enable" if the operation is successful, you are good to go. However, for some people it won't be successful.
