Tried it and it was different what what you showed. I opened the exe. file and it asked "quit" ? Quit what? Unless you have technical knowledge these things never work.
I think this worked for me, finished while I was sleeping so I didnt get to see the report at the end. I am able to download files and open up new tabs. Before I was unable to download anything or open new tabs in my browser. Processes would be unresponsive but I could easily x them out. Malwarebytes couldnt run a scan and I the computer couldn't reset itself. Glad I found this video, it saved me. Now to do my homework assignments that I couldnt do

TronScript is Great. No, No, No...your computer is not going to be infected BY it! I've used it on several heavily infected machines with different versions of Windows. Tron is a character in the movie of the same name. The makers CARE about cleaning computers not damaging them. Great video, Chris.

Yo I got a virus disguesed as a anti virus I knew something was off so I did this I got a long way to go before it is finished (this is my 2nd time getting a virus and I wanted to watch the vid to refresh my mind on how to do it)
I'm of the mindset if you get a virus you should just format the drive and re-install windows. Even if you do remove the virus it does not mean the damage done to the system no longer exists, they typically do compromise the operating system in some form or manner to make it easier the second time around or just in general let others have better luck at it. I know formatting is a pain and generally frowned up due to the data being lost and time spent but to me that is the proper way to handle malware. You simply can't be certain you got everything and that there's not a hidden system process or rootkit buried deep in the booting phase. Many forms of malware try very hard to hook themselves into vital parts of the operating system and simple removing them can cause even more damage to the system. I just feel if you want it done right the only option is to format the system. I am also aware some types of malware can lodge themselves into components firmware to try and bypass the format and re-install themselves on a fresh system but things like this are near impossible to discover and you will have little chance to even detect them with traditional malware engines so it's not like you have really prevented it by not formatting. I view anti-malware solutions as a means to prevent infection not cure it.

I've switched to Linux; however, I have many friends who still use Windoze. Now I know the best way to help them when their computer gets infected. Thank you for what you do. I have an extra 10-15yr old laptop that came with W. Vista and has been upgraded to Windows 10. It has been sluggish for many years. Just ran your Tron script and it's like a new laptop again. It's not nearly as fast as my I7 laptop. For a Dell 1545 Core 2 duo, it is working fantastic. Very much appreciate the very simple process of just running the script and it does all the work. After running the script, I have Office 365 which just needed to be updated and all is back to normal. I also had to update McAfee antivirus which also needed updated, Other than these two items the laptop is back to normal but working so much better. THANK YOU AGAIN!
Update: it worked absolutely amazing, I didn’t have any viruses because I’m safe online lol, but it did a great job of debloating windows from all the crap that came on it and gave me an extra 8.5gb which is a ton considering the computer only came with 32 plus all its extra stuff, so it recovered a third of the storage and only took about 4 hours to complete. So I also recommend anyone else try this program!

Dude, I trusted you and did this. I followed your instructions. I then got a notification that ransomware was installed on my onedrive. Exactly the same time that I ran this shit. Now I am reinstalling windows on ALL my computers.
The problem on my laptop is my cursor started going crazy and making me go crazy too but after i used norton and scan my pc its gone for some reason, man i was so freaking scared
By the way, I was infected with ransomware last year. A lot of my files were encrypted and I couldn't recover them, BUT I had other files in a hidden folder, and for some reason those were not affected by the virus. So I suggest that from now keep all your important files in hidden folders, just in case.
Control Room if you had a d drive partition or a separate boot folder you may be able to recover a good amount of your data. Ccleaner has a product called recovera that may do the trick for free. Keep in mind that if it corrupted, you can't do much, and if a virus or pup has been deleted you want to ensure its been overwritten with 1s or 0s to ensure, you're not recovering the malware or virus that was hijacking your files in the first place. Personally I'm paranoid, I format the whole dam thing with 32 passes and call it a loss, but that's just me, highly time consuming and everything, even the os, is gone afterwords. Dban, nuke, destroyer and red key offer easy to use paid software, and various methods and software are free as well but require more time and steps to use. Hope this info helps. Remember it's just random advice form someone you never met so get a second option from a trusted tech friend that you know personally.

if I know what virus I have (at least I think I know its wup.exe & csrss.exe) can i make it a bit faster by running only some of those stages manually? Well I was getting ready to write something scathing about the click bait title. However doing due diligence and downloading and checking the script I am kind of impressed. I too have been removing virus' since about 95 so I have a little background. This script basically automates the things I would do. I kind of like it. Now if they would just add a remote viewing feature so I didn't have to get out of my chair to see the progress.
Just a couple of questions. 1) In a corporate environment, why would you want an infected PC connected to your network/to have an internet connection? 2) Why use this vs flattening the drive (Deriks or something) and reimage it? I have an HP all-in-one I bought from Walmart in 2015. It was such a mess, it wouldn't even let me do a factory reset on it. Kept asking for a BIOS password I have no memory of setting. Finally I had to find a video on CZcams about the jumper thingy to move into a certain position and it finally bypassed the password requirement and allowed me to factory reset it. That took all night and now I'm running this script which will take another 9 hours, but hopefully once all the windows and HP bloatware is finally gone out will actually be useable again. I wish I'd known about this 6 years ago.
I just ran this last night and at the very least, it has fixed my CPU usage rate. Normally it was running 40-50% and at times maxing out at 100% but after running this, it's down at 10-15%. I had a feeling that I inherited a virus(s) recently since my cursor was acting up and now it is also running a lot smoother. This is an incredible tool that you can run overnight so there's disruption to your day. I'd recommend that people run this to get your computer back in running order.

I tried this and left it over night and it got to "Defragmenting" 5% and then stopped. It is stuck at that spot. What do I do now?

Look the github changelog.. it literally tells you what date it was last updated... last updated as of 2-2-2023.
If you have an internet connection, Tron automatically updates its definitions. They are also updated on each release

Dude, I trusted you and did this. I followed your instructions. I then got a notification that ransomware was installed on my onedrive. Exactly the same time that I ran this shit. Now I am reinstalling windows on ALL my computers.

By the way, I was infected with ransomware last year. A lot of my files were encrypted and I couldn't recover them, BUT I had other files in a hidden folder, and for some reason those were not affected by the virus. So I suggest that from now keep all your important files in hidden folders, just in case.
Control Room if you had a d drive partition or a separate boot folder you may be able to recover a good amount of your data. Ccleaner has a product called recovera that may do the trick for free. Keep in mind that if it corrupted, you can't do much, and if a virus or pup has been deleted you want to ensure its been overwritten with 1s or 0s to ensure, you're not recovering the malware or virus that was hijacking your files in the first place.
Personally I'm paranoid, I format the whole dam thing with 32 passes and call it a loss, but that's just me, highly time consuming and everything, even the os, is gone afterwords. Dban, nuke, destroyer and red key offer easy to use paid software, and various methods and software are free as well but require more time and steps to use.
Hope this info helps. Remember it's just random advice form someone you never met so get a second option from a trusted tech friend that you know personally.

if I know what virus I have (at least I think I know its wup.exe & csrss.exe) can i make it a bit faster by running only some of those stages manually? I tried adding DisallowRun key entry in regedit to stop it from running and just killing processes & deleting files but they are replicating and running anyway.

Well I was getting ready to write something scathing about the click bait title. However doing due diligence and downloading and checking the script I am kind of impressed. I too have been removing virus' since about 95 so I have a little background. This script basically automates the things I would do. I kind of like it. Now if they would just add a remote viewing feature so I didn't have to get out of my chair to see the progress.

Just a couple of questions. 1) In a corporate environment, why would you want an infected PC connected to your network/to have an internet connection? 2) Why use this vs flattening the drive (Deriks or something) and reimage it? If you USB booted linux, you might be able to recover the data from the drive.

I have an HP all-in-one I bought from Walmart in 2015. It was such a mess, it wouldn't even let me do a factory reset on it. Kept asking for a BIOS password I have no memory of setting. Finally I had to find a video on CZcams about the jumper thingy to move into a certain position and it finally bypassed the password requirement and allowed me to factory reset it. That took all night and now I'm running this script which will take another 9 hours, but hopefully once all the windows and HP bloatware is finally gone out will actually be useable again. I wish I'd known about this 6 years ago.

I just ran this last night and at the very least, it has fixed my CPU usage rate. Normally it was running 40-50% and at times maxing out at 100% but after running this, it's down at 10-15%. I had a feeling that I inherited a virus(s) recently since my cursor was acting up and now it is also running a lot smoother. This is an incredible tool that you can run overnight so there's disruption to your day. I'd recommend that people run this to get your computer back in running order.
This is worth it, just if you have important files on your computer if not, just reinstall the OS.
