Seems like the EU will vote for Chat Control 2.0. Wonder what this will mean for vpn and privacy in general. Their aim as I understand it is to force companies to provide back doors in apps so the government can monitor all communication. And might even make encryption illegal. I have at two Onedrive accounts with 15 GB space and it is free. Same amount of Dropbox costs money. Onedrive is very handy for me. I use it to make notes in notepad and when I am out of house I can easily access those notes on my Iphone! My notes are most technical so I don't care if anyone is seeing them!

I find the interphase of ver 20 annoying and confusing ver18 was definitely more organized and set out in a more understandable way, also the security is a pain you need spilt DNS or hairpin Nat just to use features like VC and cell apps that used to work perfectly on v18, I don’t like it and won’t sell it anymore, I’ll use Yeastar as I have no issues in the field with any of my client’s .

When you have most people create accounts just post an issue saying "your software crashed, please fix" then refusing to elaborate any further, (sometimes not even using the GH account ever again), you end up with projects that have hundreds of unresolved bogus issues. If you're reading this and you're this kind of person, then please don't "contribute" to open-source.

You don't have to reboot windows to unmount the ext4 drive. Running "wsl --shutdown" should cause everything to unmount.

Cinnamon is a GOAT for me, gnome really sucks, KDE plasma is pretty good, but I already fall in love with cinnamon, but, my 100 hz monitor feels kinda strange on that, like it's raning only 15 hz or aomething

I think when one uninstalls something, and it comes back without asking for it, that is all the more reason to uninstall it. If they're forcing it on you, there is a way they are exploiting you that benefits them.

Well issues on your projecs are autoclosed by bot (I think) after 2 weeks. I think that is bad. Like, idk If you saw issue and decided to ignore it or saw the issue and decided to look at it later and forgot about it, or you didn't saw the issue at all (because you missed it, or was on holidays or something). Simple answer like "no" or "wont fix" would be helpful...

What you really meant was community driven foss, free open source software, license type is key here to protect it. There are plenty of corporations that take advantage of open source but keep control of the license and use in a draconian way.

As a dev, it is always nice when anyone (users of a project) can write clear issues. This makes our jobs as devs much easier. Some of the best contributors to projects that I have worked on have been people that create issues, respond to issues, and generally understand what is going on in the project.

I thought PIA was a very solid option. I've heard a lot about how they don't log your activity and good service overall.

In the end : windows defender is plenty enough for not wasting any money 😁 especially when you know when you cross the line or not
