Updated the article to use a more up-to-date version of universal android debloater, called next generation. Same code, same interface, just more up to date.

Yo Chris, how to not look at the phone constantly?
@@thodean turn it off
@@thodeanthrow it out the window and get a samsung galaxy star
@@thodean try setting it to monochrome, nobody talking about it but it works
Great vid chris! BTW that debloater in the vid is quite outdated. The list it uses is outdated. Theres a fork called universal android debloater next generation which has been updated even as of 2 weeks ago.
Found it: github.com/Universal-Debloater-Alliance/universal-android-debloater-next-generation - I'll update the links
Thank you my guy!
thanks!
thanks man
Thanks!
This video should have more "this might break things" warnings slapped on top of it. The tool is too powerful and easy to use to broadcast it's existence willy nilly like that imo

if you have not ticked expert mode in settings,
you can change " recommended" to "all" and "enabled" to "disabled".
you can reinstall all deleted ones that way.
When i checked the adb packages, got to know even samsung has like 430 packages in phone and there were horrible packages in the name of user experience and ecosystem. This video was important
Yea, what phone do you have? You might be able to change your os/rom
Oh Samsung loves bloat
My Pixel 7 is completely debloated with GrapheneOS on it. That's the best way and better privacy.
I was thinking the same, if you have a pixel, why wouldn't you use graphene.
Is grapheneos still able to use things like banking apps? Or did play store patch this again?
yes it is see on there site
But you lose all camera futures
yup I am on Graphene 6a. Its a no compromise ROM and privacy is a bonus.
I would love to run smth like that but an app I use for authenticating in banks and government sites is under safetynet. Happy for you guys either way :)
Shizuku and canta also good for debloat stuff without needing a pc
Some manufacturer like vivo have restrictions making you unable to debloat certain apps, best use recommend setting, certain system apps can bootloop the device
I hate Vivo, they have so much bloat on their phones
They need to be enabled via ADB for non-rooted devices too.
@@motazkasem3289 use shizuku for wireless debugging for android 11+
My samsung debloat list is 157 apps lol.
Android phones are so gimped nowadays. Glad you're showing off this tool
My xiaomi phone was close to 200 I think
My samsung was 300. Im left with 100 system apps
Comrades!!!! please share these lists🙏🙏🙏🙏
Using adb for years, it is a very good solution to improve your battery life and security in some cases. The main advantage is no need for root. Great video!
Same
dude i remember your stream when u mentioned it. nice! your community has already debloat their phones, im glad
I personally prefer ADB App control for Windows.. but it's great to see a cross platform alternative
I stopped using that garbage when it kept locking features behind the paid version.
@@Samazing01 true. It was a major improvement from me using copy paste commands everytime my phone perfomed an update. There's also a convenient backup button that downloads all the packages to your desktop, incase you try and purge the packages permanently.
Sucks that it locked features behind the paywall but what the heck🤷♂️ People gotta eat, right?
In Samsung phones, you can make the battery last for long days. Just go to Settings, then choose Battery, then choose Save Power, then choose Limit apps and Home screen. it is very useful.
The best thing that I've done was installing Lineage. It is sad that don't have for all devices. I'm Using Android 14 in a 2019 Motorola, I had issues with camera only in Android 12
Oh just the camera not working? That's the only issue? lmao
@@FoxyDrewYes. That's what he said..
@@FoxyDrew Is working normally, I had a few issues in the version 12, stop being condescending dude, that's lame.
Oh my god. I am so like that I have discovered your channel lately. My hidden apps that where annoying my for the moment I bought my phone are gone. From 3½ rows to just half a row. You are a godsaver. I am waaiting to see what it does to my battery also. THANK. YOU.
I have an older Motorola and took a couple of tries for the pop-up to appear for the ok; after that, my next issue was command line launching the program, not idea what I messed but, so I just launched the application from the extracted file and everything worked flawlessly.
Thank You so much for the clear directions to take for this to happen; I have tried before and got frustrated so I stopped, this helped me a lot.
What an amazing tool this is. I love how powerful it is, and obviously it has to be handled with cautious. Even the recommended preset is quite "aggressive" - but man, this tool can make basically any phone debloated. Wow.
I'm just going to mention one thing though - when you update your phone using the classic OTA updating, you'll most likely need to re-run this tool because a lot of stock apps get reinstalled.
PS: the 'recommended' preset can uninstall useful google apps, but you can just reinstall them all from the google play store anyway.
"This video really extends your battery life"
I am keeping the video on loop so my battery life get extended a lot
Used this on my Lenovo P11 tablet that I use to read before bed. Most of the time tablet just sits I went with recommended and checked all the info for what was being removed. Only kept about 8 out of 54 recommendations. Tablet went from 5-7 days on battery to right now 58% after 6 days! Thank you so much!
Most apps are easy enough to reinstall if you uninstall them. Also the other issue is updates will restore some things.
definitely leave that Jersey Mike's app in there 🙂
Also normally you can just factory reset your phone to restore any screw ups.
I like this a lot. If you make another video about android/ iphone videos I would love that. I will play with this on my second phone. Work just leave alone till I feel like it needs trimming :-)
Since you have a pixel device, you could install graphene and just have barebones android (none of the google services at all) thus even further extending you battery and also not having google harvesting all that juicy metadata continuously :D
I know you tried graphene before on I think a pixel 3? I'm actually looking at getting a pixel 7 pro and using graphene on it. You can run google play in sandboxed environment within graphene and give permissions granularly, so you can still have youtube and maps and the play framework doesn't have anywhere near as many privileges as a native install on a google android device.
I was installing custom roms when I saw that video, how amazing is that
Used it year ago on windows I believe, really quite simple and useful.
hey great great video Chris, your truly a saint. when you said "if you use something diferent that would be OK", may I please ask for a bit more clue I totally didn't get it and I fear I'm missing out on a cook yt alternative lol. thanks again
God bless the guy who made than and bless you, Chris.
thabk you sir
i was uninstall it manually but here i know there's such apps like this
Id like a full length video with all necessary steps from the getgo tbh.
I have no idea how to use a custom loader, but I'd really like to debloat my phone >.
I know ROMs aren't a on fits all solution for everyone, but I've had a similar experience running Graphene w/o Google services. My phones coming on three years old, but it's battery life is still pretty amazing. Not just limited to Graphene when it comes down to slimmed down ROMs though. Some version variation of debloating via adb is also definitely a fine solution too too.
Niagara launcher is 90% of the experience. Absolutely life changing, and it is the main thing that keeps me in the android ecosystem. Thx for another great video Chris!
This is AMAZING! My phone's (Xiaomi) battery came from lasting 6 to 8 hours up to 23 hours! Aside of that, this app removed all the shady apps that MIUI has to "phone-home to China", and now it's way more responsive, and it even restarts faster!
I have an Oukitel that I manually took down as far as I could about five years ago; it runs Android. Since then I've only been charging it once a week on average and still have 100% battery capacity. If I need to do any computing stuff, I'm on a desk or laptop. That said, when I first learned about your Windows debloat tool way back when, I wished for something like it for my phone. Time has paid off and here it is. I want to use this but am unfamiliar with the Niagara launcher, so I'm a tad gunshy. I hope the resolve that on my next day off and learn about it so I can use this new to me tool. ... Wonder how much longer my battery will go after that?
Hey there Chris! What package are you using to display your phone screen like that? Nice to see Niagara! I really liked it, but it was proprietary and paid so I switched to Olauncher with a pure black wallpaper for far greater minimalism. And I also liked Arcicons when I used them. But why not use Aurora and maybe MicroG with a Custom ROM?
Thanks for the video!
Will try this tomorrow when I get my new phone 😆👌🏻
You can re enable apps by selecting Disabled from the dropdown menu. It will show the apps that you have disabled. Just click enable and you are good to go.
awesome, ty Chris!!!
You can also set it to disable apps instead of uninstall in the settings.
Just used it on my oneplus open and did it have crap in it wow, I love how each app has a description about it
Nice vid! would you possibly be able to show how to set up wireless debugging on arch? i cant seem to get it to pair to my phone. charging port is busted so usb isnt an option for me
i needed this. thanks
awesome! thanks just ran this and it worked (y)
If you accidentally remove an app, you can restore it by selecting "Disabled" or "Uninstalled" in the the drop-down menu next to the one that says "Recommended"
I wonder if this coulb be used alonside the debloater for the fire tablets? Have some tried on a older fire device or a Xiaomi/poco device?
thx Chris, u rock
Hi Chris, I think u should tell to turn off usb debugging after the manip is done as it is not wise to keep it on for security purpose right ?
Anyway I'll try it, didnt know bout debloaters for android, thx !
Usb debugging can also cause problems with things like usb drives if you use those with your phone
usb debugging can cause security issues if you tend to plug your phone into PCs . I mean...
I'm going to try this on my Pixel 7 before I make another attempt at running GrapheneOS or CalyxOS. I like the idea of both of those alternate OS's, but they leave a little bit to be desired.
Thanks for this information i was needing to do something like this to my phone that i only use for calls check mails and messages, since 2020 my phone was giving me 4 to 5 days without debloat, lets see how much extra battery time i get
Would you ever do an updated graphene os video now that they have added sandbox play apps?
it actually made my battery last about 40$ longer. THanks Chris
you also can get information about the app-what it does, if you tap on the package name in UAD
I have experience with doing this. It is not the best way. When my phone (samsung galaxy m22) was new i got 2 days of battery. I debloated the hell out of it and i had 100~ system apps. My battery at that time before debloating was barely a day and after debloating it was 1.5 days. I managed to be the first person in the world who got a custom os (CrDroid gsi) on an m22 and i put the steps on xda. Ive been enjoying 2.5 day battery and extreme customisation along with 75% more fps without overclocking.
If you care about getting the most out of your phone, do this
In case if "adb devices" command shows "xxxxxxx unauthorised" -> check your phone and allow acess
a great help, thank you👍
Thank you very much!
small correction you cant brick your device, even if your android becomes unusable go into your boot menu and hit factory reset
Now that wouldnt work for systems where default apps are installed systemwide only would it ?
beautiful, thank you
In the settings of this program you can select it to just clear and disable selected apps. Safer that way.
Disabling doesn't realy make any difference in terms of perormance, booting time and battery life, removing it is way better for the phone because u free up alot o storage that way.
got rid of a bunch of useless apps on my oneplus6, thanks chris.
FYI on my pixel 6A when i uninstalled recommend services i lost carrier services AND the ability to change alert/notification sounds. Had to reinstall everything since clearly they were labeled incorrectly.
Is there any benefits conpared to just disabling the app?
Based Chris plays honkai star rail
is the sony xperia 10 V good? I need to get an android phone for like 300$ max i havent had one in months
i like your terminal appearance how to customize like this ?
Thanks!
Chris what's that launcher??? Niagara??? If you've made it yourself love to use it.
yep
Is there a way to backup apps with data and transfer to a new device?
How do you know how each one of these services are used by the OS? I would like to do this on my S23 to get rid of bloatware, but I still wanna keep functions such as step tracking for example
i use xiaomi adb fastboot tools, does using this tool still have benefits for me?
The latest UAD tool shows the consequences of the uninstallations too. It's better to read that carefully and uninstall apps.
Don't use this on lenovo tab 12.. it randomly makes it crash..into android recovery where it says A error occurred
what an amazing amount of work for the average person...
just charge the damn thing
does it also improve lineage os with nano gapps ?
Will this work on a firestick?
Yes but what happens when you hard reset your phone ? do the deleted apps stay deleted ?
adb devices - i get no devices even i activated in dev option .. :(
i dididn't get any promt to accept anythink :(
'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
manage to make de debuging woking but when i enter " uad_gui-windows" i get same error....
um i am too scared to even uninstall a single thing because there is a lot of things i don't understand might break my phone
does this break safetynet/play integrity?
Just got 118 package at the recommended list on my Mi device. lol
i get a full blue screen activate windows notification and i can't close it for 5 seconds, then when i want to close its open the settings. Its really annoing when gaming.(i used a spoofer before and reinstalled the windows ).Can you help me?
Using this on my s21 ultra... lets see how it goes
I just install grapheneos and run google services in in a sandbox that come with grapheneos
make a video about grapheneos since it's so easy to install even my grandma can install it if she still alive
I have used this software for two years 👍👍
Me getting 12-13 hr sot on my Moto ❤
I got as far as adb devices, though I was spelling worng as norml. Nope. adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file. So thats endded faster than it started
Wish me luck on not braking down my phone 😂
You can 1)backup your apps list 2) reinstall uninstalled apps individually with the tool
Good video!
i rooted my redmi phone and now i can underclock the cpu and that is the ultimate battery saver
"I use arch, btw."
Using titanium backup since forever. Just freeze the bloat.
Did this and my screen on time improved by 2 more hours
I hate to assume anything so, I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 tablet running Android. Will this work for the tablet too?
YES!
Yay. That is more like it.
I still never had a smartphone so I will skip this one. Considering that it is just a computer system (two computer systems in a smartphone if you ignore things like initiating the POST-process which requires a mini-OS on itself) it is predictable what it is about, things like disabling BlueTooth, set it on airplane mode, disabling programs phoning home all the time...
LMAO, was gonna share this video to my friends but we all know whats gonna happen, check all, delete all, then chase me after with a chainsaw !
Been using this for a while and have to say some of your info is incorrect. Due to the nature of the tool not requiring root it does not uninstall apps and services. It merely disables them so if you brick your phone all you need to do is factory reset and you’re good to go. Functionally it works the same as uninstalling though.
Thanks you so much my lord and savior I've been looking for this for a while now
